Acting Lessons in Mc Alisterville. Amazing Teachers.

I have extensive experience as a stage actor and teach actors of all ages. I use a natural, holistic approach and am proud to say that my students are almost always the best actors in their performances!

Stella Adler, Stanislavsky, Chekhov, and Meisner Acting Technique for Theatre/Camera is taught in private and group classes. All students are exposed to each technique and Rachel sees which technique each student responds to the most. Once the student and Rachel are able to identify the technique, Rachel continues to use the terminology of that technique for the remainder of the time the student is in lessons. Students eventually are able to play roles truthfully and realistically, even if the roles are opposite of the student's own personality.

The private acting lesson is designed to teach the student the tools they need to succeed as performers. Learn terminology, skills, and build confidence. Older students will focus on Audition, Scene Study, and Improvisation.

Classes will be tailored to the student's level of expertise. In general, the student will decide on the direction the classes. Do you want to work on dialects, stage voice, method acting, on-camera techniques, monologues, audition techniques et.al? There are many directions these classes can move, so when I express a "tailored" approach, you can rely on gaining the specific knowledge and skills you seek.

Acting with ease is mostly about really being relaxed and at peace while fulfilling a role. The best acting comes from having passion and confidence in the choices that you have made while you have prepared. The greatest obstacle? The inner critic, the inner skeptic, the inner dragon that works hard to put on the breaks and make us question ourselves and whether it is safe or not to let go. My job is to help you feel safe enough to be able to trust your creative instincts and your natural impulses. I'm more of a kind, compassionate, understanding and forgiving coach who nurtures the talent that is already in there. We all know you've got it -- who are we kidding?

These lessons are for students pursuing theatrical acting and a understanding on theatre. Students will learn the fundamental terminology, a variety of acting techniques, and explore different genres of the stage. We work on sense journal, variety of monologues, scene work, character development, advance acting terms and skills, and so much more!
