We feel that we totally lucked out with finding Jason who is a complete gem! He showed up on time and quickly inspired my son with the drawing lessons by having him draw Superheroes! So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Cody is definitely enjoying his lessons and I am seeing real progress. I feel like I did the right thing investing in these lessons and giving Cody a great summer with a wonderful instructor. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Jason for being so great at what you do!
I love to create. The way I'm most comfortable creating is through writing; whether it's a song, a short story, a poem or a script. Writing has always been the bass line in my life; the heartbeat.
Music and film are both passions of mine. I graduated from Berklee College of Music where I studied Songwriting and Music Therapy. I was pushed to my absolute limits lyrically and musically within these majors, and I am so grateful for it now that I'm on my own creative journey.
I have a great deal of experience, but I am also still learning. I think it is very important as a teacher to always be learning, especially through their students. Teaching these lessons is, of course, about progress and advancement - but also about enjoyment, confidence building and positive encouragement.
Hello! My name is Cathy and I have been teaching voice (singing) for over 30 years. But don't let that fool you into thinking I'm a stogy old girl who doesn't have a pulse on contemporary music. I teach pop, country, broadway, folk, whatever it is your interested in. I do teach with vocal exercises because without them no changes will be made and that's the whole point right to change your voice? However you do get to sing songs. I teach, so that you will change your voice and succeed in whatever avenue you want. My degree is in Vocal Performance from Northeastern Illinois University and one year of Masters work in Drama from DePaul University.
I also teach ESL, Reading, Writing, History which I have done for the past ten years. I use a variety of techniques since no two people are alike to help you learn English or the Ameri
can lifestyle. I presently teach Caterpillar employees, spouses and children. Let me teach you and see how far we can go.
My name is Laila. I am a mother of four children ages 22,20,18&13. I have BS in Computer Science and MA in Accounting. In addition, I am a reading therapist . I run an online reading clinic for dyslexic students to help them with their literacy struggles.
I'm bilingual English/Arabic, and while I was raising up my children, I gave them Arabic private lessons for many years. They never liked the traditional methods their tutors used. Because of my experience with teaching children and my fluency in both languages, I came up with an interesting way of teaching children the language through fun activities, conversations, books, apps and many more. Learning Arabic will not be boring, but rather fun and easy.
Laila has been wonderful! She has been teaching my children, 4 and 6. She is very patient and makes the lessons age appropriate and fun! I like to sit with them and learn too! I am so happy that we have found her and highly recommend her.
Commonly attributed to Theodore Roosevelt, The Man the Arena is about action, striving and failure. We all have our own journeys and our own goals. I am a strong believer in working towards goals but any goal worth achieving will have its fair share of failure along the way. There is nothing wrong with failing, we all have our challenges, what matters is taking the risk to succeed.
I come from an engineering background so math and science have always been a part of my life. I have been tutoring Calculus and Physics for years and enjoy the opportunity to work with others to help them understand it as well.
I am a goal oriented individual and that comes through in my teaching. I try to be as objective as I can, working towards tests, homework, quizzes. Going through practice problems is often the
best way of identifying challenges and strengthening your knowledge as a whole. Whatever you decide your math and science goal is, I am looking forward to helping you work towards it.
I am a part-time online teacher specializing in teaching english as a second language and history. I graduated from Curry College in May 2014 with a B.A. in Politics and History and a minor in English. I subsequently completed a 10 month ESL fellowship in Israel from September 2015 until July 2016. I began teaching online to Chinese students in August 2017 through the company of 51talk and was promoted once during my time with them. Currently, I teach online both through that company though also offer my own lessons which I design and use.
My lessons focus on specific words and how they are used. For example the most common word in the english language is the word "the." My corresponding lesson focuses on basic sentence examples using that word and also offers the student the opportunity to construct their own. I have similar lessons f
or "that," "this," "or," "of," and many others. My ultimately goal is to give the student a basic understanding of the 50 most common words in the English language upon which future lessons can build. More advanced lessons are available upon request.
In addition to English, I am also adept at History. I have always been fascinated with the subject and enjoy assisting others with historical assignments. In addition to graduating with a degree in history, I also gained the Politics and History award of my college upon graduation and studied the History of the Italian Renaissance for three months in Florence Italy in 2010. I am adept at essay writing and historical research.
Matthew’s sheer level of excitement, passion, and devotion to each student is something I have never seen before. He seeks to motivate every student in a way that leads to the best results from each, and his mastery of ESL is quite incredible. I highly recommend Matthew as a tutor.
I am a professional educator and writer of fiction and poetry. I enjoy encouraging others to become the best writers and creators of great art. I also enjoy teaching children and teens by coaching them to have growth mindsets and stretch to become the best versions of themselves.
I am a US Navy submarine veteran and former field engineer with expertise on electro-mechanical systems who traded in his heavy tools for even heavier textbooks. Prior to leaving industrial fields, it was often a part of my job to train new personnel on equipment, maintenance practices, and documentation, which I really did enjoy and so I decided to become a teacher. Now I truly enjoy both teaching and learning. I am currently graduate student (again), now earning a Master of Science degree in astronomy and will likely continue with my PhD in astrophysics.
I have taught physics and chemistry at local high schools for the past 6 years and really enjoy the subject material, regardless of whether it is calculus-based or algebra-based. although I really do enjoy teaching mechanics and electricity the most. I always bring a good sense of
humor and positive attitude to all of my lessons and try to make physics interesting and fun.
"Milka is extremely patient and knowledgeable. She is, hands down, the best tutor I've ever had. And she's an incredible person. I'm so thankful to have fo
und her and I'm even more thankful that I'm finally starting to understand Organic Chemistry and general chemistry!"
"Great tutor. Helped me with GRE preparation, science courses, and admissions process."
"great teacher and person, worth every penny!"
"He knows his math subjects and material and I have learned new tricks to make working problems quicker. He is punctual and organized and I greatly appreci
ate that as well."
"Preparing for the GRE test was a little stressful. I did not know what topics I should focus on in the little time I had, but Bill was able to break all t
he content into manageable sections. We managed to cover almost all the topics and my test went really well!"
"TAMAR IS A GEM
Tamar is a gem!
I have been working with her for the past year and she has helped me completely transform my academic situation.
I am a
freshman in high school who struggles with ADHD. Tamar's patience and diligence is completely unsurpassed. She goes above and beyond to ensure that I am not only doing my work, but she breaks down the material for me in such a way that it is easy to understand. Tamar puts in hours of her own time to create tests and study guides which has helped give me the extra advantage i need. I recommend her to anyone. She is by far one of the best tutors and individuals ever."
"I feel compelled to share a great “find” I made last year. School had only been in session for two weeks before my kids came home lamenting that their AP
Physics teacher left them totally confused and stressed out. Switching to a less demanding schedule wasn’t an option so I decided to look for some help. Lord knows, it wasn’t going to come from me or my husband! I found Daniel, a 2012 UCLA engineering grad who has been tutoring for many years. After the boys’ first meeting with him, the level of stress in our household plummeted and the boys did well on their first physics test. They ended up with A's in the class and doing well on the AP exam. We’ve decided to have him come regularly, just to make sure the boys understand the material and keep them confident. Daniel is able to help them with anything they don’t get in their calculus class as well. So as you stare the next school year in the face, if your child has any difficulty with their studies, especially in math or physics, consider talking to Daniel. He’s a lovely young man and the boys really responded to him well."
