I will cater to what each individual needs, working with dance material you already know teach you choreography to achieve the following:

-provide personalized feedback to help improve technical and artistic growth.

- give tools to improve and deepen your understanding of technique

- explain how to connect your expressiveness with your technique

My style is very supportive and direct. I believe that to improve as a dancer you need personal feedback and hard work. I am very passionate about sharing what I know to help other dancers reach their goals.

About Amanda
I currently dance with the Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company and on faculty teaching at the Paul Taylor School. While maintaining a professional dance career in New York City, I have been passionate about teaching dance for the past 9 years.

I have taught Master Classes and Intensive Workshops in the Paul Taylor style throughout the nation, as well as teaching Vaganova Ballet at the Joffrey Ballet School. I have taught in numerous public schools through teaching residencies with Rioult Dance Company and Education In Dance. I believe these experiences have taught me how to assess individuals quickly and provide clear feedback in a positive and supportive way.

My teaching style is energetic, and focused on the personal experience each dancer is having, while giving direct and clear feedback. My goal is to help students reach their artistic
potential in their dancing by helping to combine technique with lyricism, rhythmic dynamics and emotive qualities.

Private lessons can be catered toward each individual. Either for an upcoming audition, feedback on solo or ensemble choreography, to help personalize technical corrections and to help push technique to a higher level, or for non dancers to help understand movement and feel comfortable in a beginning class.

My specialty is teaching tap as a musical instrument. For me, the movement serves the sound rather than a visual effect. No matter if you're a beginning, intermediate or advanced student, you will discover the potential of the human body to help internalize musical concepts such as phrasing, form, improvisation, and self-expression, as well as gain organic access to complex musical structures. Whether your focus is on building tap dance skills, seeking to connect body and mind in a profound and musical way, or are a musician who wants to become more connected and physically involved with the groove within - you are in the right place with me. The tap steps are merely tools to access your unique voice. My tap lessons combine technique, improvisation, and combinations with mindfulness, breathing, and body awareness exercises. Find the groove that is within you!

About Sandra
I am a tap dance musician, writer, and visual artist.
My performance credits include Thomas Marek's show NOLA, the sound art/tap performance Homöostep, the Tap Ahead Festival, and Daniel Luka's T.A.P. My current main project is Neosole, which explores tap as a music instrument, as a full member of the rhythm section, not just soloing as a gimmick on top of the music, but being fully integrated, comping and providing a foundation for the musical context.
I have been invited to teach at renowned facilities such as tanzhaus nrw, tap club, and Rebeltanz, and to be a tap dancer in residence at Thomas Marek's Studio Footprints.
My artistic works have been featured in publications such as Average Art, The Tap Love Tour Podcast, What Moves You, and Not Random Art.
I first started tap dancing at the age of 10 under the direction of my Mom.
From then on, I was influenced by many different teachers and mentors, such as Barbara Duffy, Sebastian Weber, Pia Neises, Derick Grant, Sarah Petronio, and Heather Cornell, to only name a few. I graduated from the tap dance apprenticeship S.O.N.T.I. with magna cum laude.
I consider myself a musician, and the tap shoes are my instrument. My style is deeply rooted in the aesthetic of jazz music and heavily shaped by playing in numerous jam sessions around Europe and New York City, however, my art transcends the boundaries of genres. It is merely a tool to create the most genuine and sophisticated expression possible. A catalyst to explore art as an extension of the human experience.
I call myself a tap dance musician because neither dance nor music could exist without the other. However, I don't move to look a certain way, I move to sound a certain way.

ra is a great instructor—very down to earth, funny and approachable. i really appreciated her ability to understand my learning style and goals, and tailor her offerings to meet them. if you are looking to gain more confidence in speaking spanish, i suggest you take classes with ra. many teachers out there may try to help you learn to speak perfectly, but ra focuses on helping you learn to be understood, and i find this much more useful. i’ll be taking more classes with ra, for sure. thank you!

Ra was very professional, welcoming and well knowledgeable to say the least. For a beginner such as myself with no prior experience, not once did I feel left out or that I couldn't catch up to her and it was all due to Ra being willing to not only revisit the steps but to do it all over again if necessary. Ra does not only engage and interacts with you very well, but she makes certain that you are also having fun all while learning. In conclusion, I highly recommend Ra if you are looking to get your Latin groove on!

Now, imagine yourself at a wedding, a party or even on a hot date and someone asks you to dance, show off your moves! How would you feel? Maybe you’re too shy, think you have no rhythm and you rather not embarrass yourself, in front of people.

Style Your Motion makes people feel the opposite by breaking down movements into simpler steps so that the beginner can focus on their style and rhythm. The goal we work towards with clients is being able to freestyle dance - in other words; moving to almost any song that comes on at a wedding or party. So forget all those dancers who have taken classes for years and focus on you: the person who wants to learn how to freestyle dance and of course look good doing it!

Since opening, Style Your Motion has gotten over 100 clients of which a significant amount are returning clients. They have learned the techniques needed to freestyle dance and find their style in motion. So, what is your style in motion?

About Patricia
There is this idea that some people are born with rhythm and born knowing how to dance, and some aren’t. There is also the misconception that memorizing choreography is learning how to dance. Patricia believes that dance is a form of expression that can help people from all backgrounds not only work out but also find their own style in motion.

As a kid, Patricia always had a passion for dance but her father who raised both her brother and her alone couldn’t afford to pay for dance lessons. She did not know where or how to begin, so she watched and imitated her brother pop locking, waving, and (as she would say) “his attempts to break dance” every chance I had. Patricia was around 10 years old when she saw her brother practicing in their living-room where there was a mirror that covered up an entire wall. Her brother would repeatedly pl
ay the song practicing his dance to which amazed Patricia how cool and unnatural his moves were.

When Patricia went off to middle school, her desire to dance was still there. Her passion for hip-hop, pop lock, and freestyle dance were still in her, even though she was terrible at it at the time. Around that time you tube became about, so she started watching great dancers pop locking, breakdancing and bone breaking, to any song. Her other big inspiration was Michael Jackson, especially his Billie Jean performance, you know the one where he introduces the moonwalk for the first time and on top of that dancing alone on stage without any background dancers. Although my brother made fun of me when he caught me trying to do the wave and pop, she kept practicing and practicing. She watched herself improve little by little until her wave and pop were on point.

Looking back on my story She realized she was never good at dancing until she started practicing and watching myself in the mirror. “Anyone can dance, it’s all about looking deep inside. - Patty

Patricia worked with me to prepare a song and a routine suitable for kids' level and interest, and was extremely nice and attentive to details. She was great with the kids. Everyone loved the party, and I got a lot of compliments. My daughter said it was the best birthday ever!
