I'm a producer, instructor, singer songwriter, sound engineer, and composer residing in Brooklyn, New York. When you take lessons from me expect to be inspired and pushed. I thoroughly love teaching music and want the best for my students. I try my best to involve and invite students to join or listen to live music ensembles, recitals, and performances of different genres. I teach all styles of music for voice, piano, and guitar. I am very diligent with practicing, teaching you how to practice, and keeping track of it. In 3 or 6 months you will have a basic understanding of music theory and a solid foundation of piano, voice, or guitar techniques. I thrive to boost self esteem and confidence in all the students that I teach. I also teach composition, students really enjoy writing their own songs and performing them.

Our first piano lesson with Tamara was really pleasant. She was very welcoming and attentive the whole time. I can tell my son was really enjoying the lesson. The details with the progress sheet and flash cards she provided was a plus for me. Her studio space also made the experience really great!

Tamar is a wonderful, dynamic and enthousiastic teacher and my 12 year old daughter had a great time with her.
Tamar knows when to slow down if her student is tired, but is also demanding so as to be sure that progress are made.
It was a pleasure seeing how fast my daughter improved her English and we both appreciated meeting Tamar, who is a great person :)

Tamar is a gem!

I have been working with her for the past year and she has helped me completely transform my academic situation.

I am a freshman in high school who struggles with ADHD. Tamar's patience and diligence is completely unsurpassed. It's been proven that students write more, and of a better quality when they have a topic that keeps their interest. Through using interesting topics, students will learn proper paragraph structure and how to vary their sentences in any genre of writing. Amy is so great with kids! I originally hired Amy to help my daughter with essay writing, as she was applying for a private high school. Amy quickly zeroed in on my daughter's weak points in writing, and had fun activities to help improve the weak points. I feel that my daughter's writing greatly improved because she went from writing short 2 or 3 paragraph answers to full essays in a few weeks. My daughter loved the writing topics, and was thrilled to begin writing her entrance essay. With Amy's guidance and direction, my daughter wrote an amazing, well organized essay that resulted in my daughter getting into her 1st choice school. We actually kept Amy on beyond the writing tutoring, because she has such a way of breaking down concepts.
