About Kristin
Hello!

I received a Bachelor's in Music Education and Performance from Drake University in Flute and Piano. Currently pursuing a Master's in Music Therapy.

At Drake, I received a musical scholarship covering 80% of my tuition costs.
I was also honored to sit as Principal Flute in both the Drake Symphony Orchestra and the Drake Wind Symphony, the top performing groups at the University.

I started to play the flute and piano in second grade, and
my love and passion for music have only grown and matured since then.

I enjoy sharing what I've learned, and learning from my students as well.

I am excited and thrilled by the opportunity to work with you!

My first piano lesson turned out to be so much more than I could have ever expected. My teacher, Kristin is so engaged in the lesson and so very well prepared. We covered so much in such a short time. She made every minute both fun and informative while providing a very friendly environment in her studio. I feel very fortunate to have found such a really competent music teacher.

About Daniel
My name is Daniel B. I have my A.A. Degree and I am currently a junior at Washington University in St. Louis. I am majoring both in Psychology and Biology with a strong emphasis on counseling, research and medicine.

Daniel was the perfect tutor for my son's prep for the GED. He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!

About Peter
I am a student of various great drum teachers from many backgrounds. Experienced players enjoy jamming with me, but I have been told that I am especially gifted at helping beginners feel comfortable finding rhythms and sounds out of any instrument, including the human body. Rhythmic breathing is made simple and encouraged from the start. Tones and drum patterns can be explained verbally or written mathematically. Students remember the patterns forever, as well as gaining comfort in playing with other drummers or instruments. Odd time signatures or complicated songs can be tackled and easily learned. Use any drum or percussion instrument you have! Recordings are encouraged if you like!

Peter grew up in Chicago, raised to love soulful music. A graduate of Northwestern University's Performance Studies program with a focus on Theatre and
Media Arts, Public Speaking, and Ethnology. Designing percussion for stage and dance lead to studies and teaching of North and West African, Middle Eastern drum, Caribbean/South American and Asian drum and percussion rhythms. First hand experience has been gained by living in Morocco and South Korea for nearly a year each, studying and documenting folk music.

I really enjoyed working through beginner/intermediate classical guitar with Gene. He was always prepared and very knowledgeable about the different pieces we were working on. He helped my technique tremendously, and structured my progress in a way I wouldn't have been able to do myself. If you are serious about wanting to learn guitar I strongly recommend getting a teacher, and if you live in the Boston area I highly recommend Gene.

She has a strong academic background from Wellesley College and has experience tutoring recently through private tutoring as well as through her experience at Huntington Tutoring and Learning Center, as well as through Mission Hill After School Program. Her experience in this field without a doubt distinguishes her from other tutors. I strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor in these subject areas.

I've worked with Palig for several months now as part of Boston Junior Derby. She has been teaching our very introductory roller skating course.

She is incredibly patient with girls of all ages, and breaks down skater mechanics in a very clear and concise way. The kids love her and tell all of the other coaches all the time that she's their favorite. #nottakingitpersonally

We're so excited to have her as a coach in the Spring!

About Alexander
My name is Alexander, a recent graduate of The Boston Conservatory M.M. in Cello Performance program. I love teaching students of all ages and abilities the joys of practicing, playing, and performing on the cello. I am an avid performer of solo, orchestral, and chamber music. I spent the final year of my undergraduate studies researching ways to more effectively teach chamber music.

My teaching philosophy puts a strong emphasis on mindfulness, which results in superb technical development and allows the student to make their musical mark on the works they perform. I encourage all students to engage in music making beyond the practice room and share the gifts they have. I realize that many students begin playing instruments during formative times in their lives. Through their musical journey, students learn much about themselves, and t
heir lessons help them to gain confidence in who they are. I look forward to mentoring this journey.

Alexander has been teaching my 13 year old son cello for the past 8 months. He is by far the best instructor we have ever had. He is the perfect blend of patient, understanding, encouraging, and talented. I love that he praises what is done well and corrects what needs more work. There isn't anyone that I would trust with my child's musical education more than Alexander.

Mrs. Franchi is a literal gift - I was fortunate enough to attend her support classes for 3 years in high school in which she not only strengthened and supported my ability to learn, but provided a strong pillar for me as I made the transition to becoming an adult. Growing up is challenging, but Mrs. Franchi had a way of covering all possibilities and outcomes carefully, meticulously and sensitively enough so as not to overwhelm you. Her study habits are second to none and she always offers the most optimal way of doing things so that you never feel as if the task at hand is too much - she is a big proponent of time management skills, and I went off to college with her teachings still echoed in my mind. Mrs. Franchi isn't just a special teacher, she's a special person who really has a strong compassion for helping others and wants to see them do well.
