I've had a book published and have written for a multi-national newspaper. I also got A grades right up until I finished college with English and Creative Writing. My style of teaching is very relaxed and informal, I want students to feel they can be equals with me, and gain confidence and be proud of their work. I set homework but I also encourage students to get creative in their own time and to show initiative! The most rewarding thing is that with writing, you can nowadays find so many outlets for your work - the sky's the limit!

Lessons can involve looking at literature and different styles of writing, as well as finding something that sparks the imagination and interest. I work especially well with young teens and pre-teens, as well as those who are looking to further their writing skills.

Not everyone looks forward to writing essays, but with a good strategy, crafting a polished essay can be interesting (and maybe even fun)! I've been coaching students and professionals in writing for over 10 years. As an undergraduate, I worked as a peer writing tutor in all subject areas. In my current work as a freelance editor, I specialize in helping international researchers prepare their work for submission to peer-reviewed academic journals, particularly in the sciences. I can help you polish a large project or improve your writing, and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!

I have both taught this subject as a tutor to private students and taught it in a classroom setting. I have done so for over twenty years.

Writing is an art and science of self-expression. It gives the writer a unique opportunity to express him/her self with power and eloquence that is difficult to use with other methods of communication.

Students will have the opportunity to improve their grades while learning about different writing styles, and developing and perfecting their own.

I'm an Emmy Award-winning writer with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, having taught all levels with more than 30 years experience.
