The SSATs can be overwhelming. 500-600 vocabulary words and an extensive list of math concepts to remember. Although standardized tests are terrible indicators of aptitude and intelligence, the unfortunate reality is that this is the way that private schools determines a child’s eligibility for acceptance. I’d love the opportunity to work with your kid and teach the skills, concepts, and techniques necessary to improve their SSAT score.

Students can expect a sit down session with a question session to see where and what schools students are aiming themselves towards. After that, a guide will be developed, with a step by step process given to the students, where the professor and student will work together to get the student ready to apply to their schools of choice.

This includes help with student essays, review of what the students wants to study, as well as FAFSA, scholarships, and grants information that the student should consider.

Good teaching is a mixture of art and science—the ability to grab and keep students' attention and convey complex information, Mr. K does just that!! I have taken about 4 or 5 classes with him and I must say he has taught me everything I need now in my career. Patient and vastly knowledge. Definitely would take another class with him!

Mr. K taught was amazing. He taught the GED in Michigan a few years ago. The moment I walked into his classroom, it was just one and one. He didn't treat me like all the other teachers. He actually cared and it showed. But man, is he hard! I didn't think I would get homework after the first class, but I was seriously wrong. But over the next two months, he grilled me and grilled me until I wanted to scream. But when I took the GED and was scored, I aced it! Just to warn yall though, he's not an easy teacher. And he doesn't put up with excuses. But when he gives you his attention, its all of it.

He even went waaaay beyond the call of duty and helped me get into college at Lansing Community College. He walked me through the application, even drove and met me at LCC, and sat with me when we talked to the reps. He even helped me look for scholarships and gave me advise on financial aid! This guy is a saint!

I have been teaching writing in college and high school for 25 years. I study the best ways to learn to write effectively in many genres. I have a tool box full of strategies for emerging writers to try out. My students report that I am honest and fair with my feedback, motivating them to take risks and make changes. They report that they finally understand writing as a process with steps that strung together seamlessly form a practice that they can make a routine. I love to teach writing, because I want people to communicate effectively.

About Jane

I'm a life-long teacher and learner who enjoys working with other people to help them write and read more effectively. I earned a Ph.D. and taught composition to college freshmen for 4 years, even training other graduate students about best practices. In this role, I definitely mastered the art of

"Mrs. Jacqueline is a wonderful teacher. She is enthusiastic, caring and accessible. She used different reading strategies to help my son to learn the sounds of the letters and decode words, as well as to learn sight words.

Mrs. Jacqueline has high expectations for my son and he made a lot of progress in his pre-reading skills. She motivated my son to learn and as a result he was engage and eager to learn how to read.

Mrs. Jacqueline develop a good relation with my son and with me. She was always willing to send me updates on how my son was doing and giving me tips on how to help him at home. I am very happy with Mrs. Jacqueline teaching skills, I am looking forward for her to continue teaching my son in the near future."

"Meagan is very flexible and is a great teacher. She doesn't make the student feel self-conscious about answering wrong, She gently asks the student to explain how they came up with the answer and allows them to correct themselves. If the student doesn't realize their error during the explanation, she explains to the student wherein the equation they made an error. She also repeats the problem areas with the student until they have a full understanding of the process.

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment."
