Mandarin Lessons in Topsfield. Amazing Teachers.

My name is Maggie. I recently earned my Master's degree in string performance at Boston University. I have won many prizes as a soloist. As an orchestra musician, I have been playing for 10 years. I have been working as a music teacher for 9 years. I have taught violin, viola and beginner piano lessons. I love developing students love for music. I greatly enjoy teaching music students and sharing my love for music with them.
Because of my experiences and education, I am able to assess easily what each student needs and how to help them achieve their goals.

Grew up in America (born in Taiwan) for over 13 years and native speaker of both English and Mandardin Chinese.

I am both patient and enthusiastic as a teacher. I speak Mandarin Chinese as my native language, and can help my students progress to a high level. Once I have determined the student's level, I work with them to help them improve according to their goals.

I have more than nine years of language teaching experience. I have learned five languages over the years in China and overseas. I started tutoring Chinese students (age 8-16) English and Chinese when I was 19 and I founded my first summer camp in China when I was 20. Students who had registered for my summer camp increased from 25 in 2010 to 86 in 2016. I've gained very valuable skills and perspectives in teaching, not just as a teacher, but also as a student--students are my teachers too--I've learned there are always places that I can improve and better help them learn languages. Students' "needs" and "wants" are prioritized. It helps students achieve their goals while combined with students' "lacks" in lesson planning. Students should get involved in the lesson planning process.

Students can expect to set goals for each week and to be given assignments to practice in between lessons.

I am also a chinese poet and song writer. Can teach from basic to advanced.
