I have returned to my passion for teaching young people mathematics. I understand how daunting math can be and how easy it is to feel left behind by the classroom teacher. We go at your pace. Math can be abstract. I will help you make the abstract real and relevant. Patience on my part is the most important part of the tutoring process.

Creative Writing is a passionate subject for me. I studied Creative Writing at Dartmouth College, where I obtained my Master's, and published my thesis of a collection of fiction short stories.
Creative Writing doesn't have rules, although there are guidelines. I am an advocate of showing and not telling, creating characters, setting scenes, and using smooth, fluent language to engage readers as we experiment with words and style and complex emotions.
As a teacher, I try to cater each class to my student's individual needs and interests. Being bilingual myself, I am a strong believer that language and culture (and food!) are intertwined, and to learn any language, it is best to immerse oneself as deeply as possible. I started teaching ESL in

The classics and emergent literature of the North American continent and American expatriates writing in different countries represent an indispensable conduit and upgrade to any of the subjects from the current teacher’s profile. This literature is exemplary for its offbeat, innovative writers, as the Beats, and global avant-gardists as the New York School of poetry. Nevertheless, students will find the gamut of moral, social, and existential themes that distinguish any classic literary cultural expression. Students can use recommended literary readings to deepen and broaden the quality of learning for such current topics, as accent training, writing skills, ESL, and TOEFL/IELTS. Vocabulary lists can be extracted and developed from the literature for attainment of higher test scores and to further minimize/moderate accent-related speech concerns. Emotional expressions and cultural insights intensify the immersion students require to adequately reflect common English parlance. ...

Reading has always been one of my favorite things. It can take you to different worlds and through time. It can open the doors to learning and introduce you to characters that soon feel almost real, like new friends. I look forward to teaching you how to read and enjoy it as I do.

I am a biomedical engineering student at the premedical/predental level. I recently started tutoring/teaching kids how to code in Scratch and Python so I have a good idea on how to teach to the younger community (primarily being a student myself). I have done coding in Python, Matlab, and recently

Morgan was very professional and patient.
My daughter really entitled her time with Morgan."
Having read Christopher's bio, I sensed that there was something special about him, and that he was the right one for our son who has some learning challenges, particularly in the area of Math. I believe it is very important a tutor connects not only on an academic level but also where there can be some light hearted conversation. Christopher arrived punctually for our first meeting and his assessment of our son. In advance of that meeting I had explained to Christopher what the challenges are and what our collective objectives are. As soon as I saw him, he appeared to relaxed but confident. After an initial introduction, I stepped away to let Christopher and our son become acquainted and he immediately set about establishing some common ground which happened to be a particular sport. No more than Christopher, our son is also very perceptive and despite the fact that he initially resisted the idea of any tutor, his words after this first meeting were "I can work with him"! Its obviously early days yet, but so far so good!"

Imagine transporting yourself into another time — pretty cool, right? This is exactly what readers get to do with the historical fiction genre. These kinds of novels invite readers to escape to a different world in a different time. However, when it comes to writing a historical novel, it takes a lot more than just jotting down some words on the page. You have to set the scene and create a convincing setting, where you readers can immerse themselves and lose track of time. You have to m …
