About Keith
I have an MBA in finance and more than 10 years of experience in Capital Markets & Banking, as an Investment Analyst. I have conducted financial analysis of companies across most industry sectors, and I have tutored clients through their Executive MBA programs resulting in a 3.96 G.P.A. I specialize in taking the most complex subject matter and simplifying it, as well as, relating it to real world examples.

I can provide tutoring in such business subjects as: accounting, business, financial management, financial analysis, economics, management, marketing, social media training, investments, sales training, technology, marketing, and investment analysis.

I have over four years in toastmasters, which is an incredible organization for improving your communication skills. I attended Adelphi University, Garden City, NY, where I received
a M.B.A in banking and finance. I attended State University at Old Westbury, Old Westbury, NY, where I received a B.S. in business.

My approach is to create a collaborative, non-judgmental learning environment, and my goal is to help you internalize the "learning" so that you own the material, and not just know the subject matter. I invite you to contact me, so that I can learn about what weaknesses or challenges you are facing, and together we can develop tools and strategies around these areas of improvement.

I have been studying martial arts for over 15 years, read a book a week, and am technology savvy.

About Colin
Hello there! My name is Colin and I am a senior biomedical engineering major and undergraduate researcher at UC Berkeley. Additionally, I have been tutoring math, science, and essay writing on college campuses and online since 2014. Math and science are a significant part of my daily life, which is fortunate for me as I am very passionate about both.

As a tutor, my goal is not to impress you with how much I know. Rather, my goal is to impress you by showing you how easily math and science concepts can come to you when you are presented the material the way *you* need to see and hear it. It's my guarantee to you that I will always strive to communicate the concepts effectively, listen to your questions with patience, and work with your unique way of learning to help you truly understand the material. This takes time, and it takes work
, but the rewards that come from it - high test scores, a strong GPA, and deep satisfaction of really mastering math and science concepts - are worth it many times over.

*Read a little further if you would like to know about my personal story on my journey to becoming a math and science tutor*

Admittedly, I didn't discover my passion for math and science until years after high school. In fact, I was seemingly terrible at both. This, I later found, was mainly due to poor communication and poor presentation of the concepts from my high school teachers. Almost eight years later, a genuine curiosity induced me to seek out YouTube videos on various math and science topics, and upon finding the right videos, where the material was presented effectively, it was actually fun and very satisfying to learn. In fact, I found that the concepts came rather easily to me. It was a night and day difference from my high school experience.

At this point, it was a glaring reality to me that people simply do not learn effectively when they aren't being presented the material in a very clear and interesting manner (for some strange reason, this is especially a problem with physics teachers/professors). For example, understanding *why* acceleration has units of meters per second squared makes those units much easier to memorize than simply knowing "it just does." Knowing *why* the x-coordinate of the vertex of a parabola is -b/2a, and why it's useful to even know how to find the vertex, makes it worlds easier to memorize than being told "it just is." Very few people in the world can learn effectively just by hearing dry, seemingly random information. On the contrary, people tend to learn and remember information they deem valuable. Since this discovery, it has been a goal of mine to help others learn and enjoy math and science the same way I do. I accomplish this by being a clear communicator, and teaching math and science concepts with excitement and demonstrating how this knowledge is valuable.

A drive to teach others is not the only good thing to come from my latent discovery of my passion for STEM. After teaching myself algebra through YouTube videos and various books, I enrolled in community college and placed in trigonometry. After completing my general education with a 4.0, I transferred to UC Berkeley into the biomedical engineering program and the rest, as they say, is history. Amazing things can happen when you are able to learn effectively!

About Cathryn
Hello! My name is Cathy and I have been teaching voice (singing) for over 30 years. But don't let that fool you into thinking I'm a stogy old girl who doesn't have a pulse on contemporary music. I teach pop, country, broadway, folk, whatever it is your interested in. I do teach with vocal exercises because without them no changes will be made and that's the whole point right to change your voice? However you do get to sing songs. I teach, so that you will change your voice and succeed in whatever avenue you want. My degree is in Vocal Performance from Northeastern Illinois University and one year of Masters work in Drama from DePaul University.

I also teach ESL, Reading, Writing, History which I have done for the past six years. I use a variety of techniques since no two people are alike to help you learn English or the Ameri
can lifestyle. I presently teach Caterpillar employees, spouses and children. Let me teach you and see how far we can go.

Thank you.

Cathryn is the nicest lady I have ever met. She's kind and caring. She has one of the best voices I've ever heard, and if you're looking at improving your singing ability, I couldn't recommend her more. Whenever I was sick she was eager to reschedule so we could continue working. Unfortunately for me, my work schedule is too hectic to continue lessons. When my schedule calms down a bit, I will 100% be searching Cathy out again to take up lessons.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Education & Credentials ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also took many classes at UCLA in education, linguistics, history, and English. I had a cumulative GPA of 3.838 with 265.5 completed units at graduation and was a 10-time Dean's Honors List Recipient. I have scored at the 98th percentile on the SAT I/II tests and received the highest score of 5 on multiple AP exams (see below for more details) as a high school student, achieving the AP Scholar with Distinction award by the end of my junior year. I have been the recipient of over $350,000 worth of many university merit-based invitational and scholarship honors and awards. Some of the most notable scholarships I have been awarded are the Regents Scholarship from both UCLA and UCSB. The SAT examinations that I have scored at 98th percentile or higher are as follows: SAT I; SAT II - Math 2; and SAT II - Biology (M). I also took many AP exams during high school, achieving the AP Scholar with Distinction award by the end of my junior year. Some of the exams that I have taken include: AP Physics B (Score = 5); AP Chemistry (Score = 5); AP Biology (Score = 5); AP Calculus AB (Score = 5); AP Statistics (Score = 5); AP US Government & Politics (Score = 5). I continuously study and retake the SAT, ACT, and AP Exams to stay on par with both the big and small changes each year to the exams.
~~~~~~~~~~~ My Personal Message to You ~~~~~~~~~~~

One of the wisest teachers once said that poor grades, study habits, and test scores are not life-threatening, but they are college-, job- , career-, and quality-of-life threatening. The most competitive students take a pro-active approaching to academics and tutoring while the least competitive take a reactive approach. All you need to do is watching the documentary 'Two Million Minutes' by Bob Compton to realize why students in other countries such as India and China surpass American peers in almost every subject, especially language (writing, grammar, etc.), math, science, and engineering-related subjects. They attend extra classes and tutoring from 6-7 AM in the morning to almost midnight.

In today's fast-paced and competitive job market, there is simply too much to lose by not investing now in your child's or your education. If a student is struggling, it makes sense to get him/her the help needed so that the time spent in school is worthwhile. Great grades and test scores can open doors that may have been previously closed and are also significant factors when determining scholarships, so investing time and effort now can pay off substantially in the future. Finally, let's not forget the most important part in all of this: the student. The confidence, knowledge, and skills that a student gains through effective tutoring can last a lifetime.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch. Every day spent waiting is another class or lecture's worth of material that you might potentially fall behind or another low quiz/test/exam score that will only make it harder to recover from. I have had too many students who could have received the grade(s) they wanted had they contacted me from the beginning.

I am a fourth-year astronomy and physics undergraduate student at the University of Florida with over two full years of freelance and hired tutoring experience and previous years of volunteer tutor experience. I was employed with the University Athletic Association as a physics tutor to student-athletes for a year. I also worked as a university-employed tutor to provide teaching assistance to college algebra courses. In high school I participated in the IB Program and took AP classes as well, so I know how the work load can get for today's students, but I also know how to help! My students always show marked improvement in grades after only a couple weeks with my help! I go out of my way to learn a student's strengths - I have no problem making a fool out of myself by singing a song if that's what helps the learning process. Feel free to
