My English lessons will focus on using grammar, writing and speech in real life situations. As an English teacher, I have much experience with the English structures, vocabulary, and communication skills. We will conduct the lessons only in English, so that you learn the language naturally as you learned your first language, with no translations. This makes it possible to start thinking in the target language and not relying on your mother language. We will learn English in a fun way, utilizing pictures, gestures and more. This is an intensive class which will have you speaking and listening in English as you would in real life.
Everyone has a beautiful voice. Let me teach you how to make it heard.
My passion for music is the most pervasive quality of my personality. Consequently, passing that passion on to others is what brings me the most joy in life. My goal is to spread the love and appreciation for this unique and transcending art form through guidance, performance, and instruction. As my student, you will receive exactly what you (or your child) want out of the lessons-you are the one controlling what you want from them (be it any style of music, professional track or just for fun, music theory, and performance) and I am there to provide it. Music is nothing short of extremely fun and completely liberating.
I have always loved to sing and play guitar and piano starting from a young age, and I never gave up my determination and passion for perfor
ming. In middle and high school I did many musicals (Jekyll and Hyde, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver, Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, Footloose, Kiss Me Kate, and Cats) and sang in the choir (including the California All State Honor Choir and Jazz Choir). I played guitar in the school Jazz Band and participated in many jam sessions out of school. I also participated in many piano competitions, including ones for my own composition (I received an honorable mention for one of my own piano works). In college, I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Redlands. I have recently completed my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands. I have performed many opera roles including Suor Angelica in Puccini's Suor Angelica, Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and Najade in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos. I was also in the University Chapel Singers Choir, Madrigals Choir, and Treblemakers a Capella Jazz choir. I currently reside in Germany where I am teaching online lessons to students all over the world, teaching English, and pursuing an opera career. So far I have sung the role of the Queen of the Night in Weimar, Germany and have done a few concerts singing Christine from the Phantom of the Opera.
"Hard work beats talent if talent does not work hard." This is my favorite quote. I truly believe that hard work will take you anywhere, no matter where your starting point is. With hard work and determination, you can be anything you want to be. With motivation, anyone can be a beautiful singer, guitarist, and pianist. If I did not believe this with all my heart, I would not be where I am today. To me, every student has great potential. It is my job and joy to bring out that potential and cultivate it into talent, love, and passion.
My lessons are fun and rewarding. I do not believe that a critical environment is one that is healthy or pleasant to learn in. Therefore, I am a very encouraging, patient, and supportive teacher, and I will praise you for your improvements, as well as help you correct your difficulties. I like to think of my lessons as a team effort, with more emphasis on working together and having fun. With that being said, I believe that you get what you put in out of our lessons. The more you practice and the more you show me determination and motivation, the more we can have fun, improve technique, and really make music in our lessons.
I customize each lesson to my student, so you tell me what you want to sing or play and what your goals as a musician are, and I will instruct you (or your child) in the exact way that fits your goals and interests. After a couple months with me, you will have a new found passion for music, knowledge of proper technique, reading and diction, and the skills to perform and communicate pieces of music. Most importantly, you will have the time of your life!
My voice lessons consist of vocal warm-ups where you learn proper technique and posture, breathing exercises to expand your diaphragm and support when you sing, and Repertoire work where you apply the technique you learned, practice performance skills, and learn diction of English, Italian, German, Hebrew, or French.
My guitar and piano lessons start with learning how to read music (if you do not know already) and being familiar with the keys or frets and the notes on the staff. Then we work on pieces of music, paying attention to the key factors of musicianship including rhythm, interpretation, dynamics, composition, musicality, and performance practice. My music theory lessons are based on whatever the student wants to learn or needs instruction on. I teach anywhere from basic music notation to advanced harmonic and formal analysis.
My speaking and lessons are similar to my voice lessons, minus the singing aspect-the same technique we use for singing is the technique we must use for speaking if we want to be heard, be healthy, and not get tired or worse - lose our voice. We work on breathing and projection techniques and then practice on a reading sample or presentation.
My acting lessons consist of different improv-acting games, projection techniques, and monologue and role studies. You will learn how to communicate a message to the audience clearly and effectively while having a wonderful time!
My language and tutoring classes are focused on fluency-getting comfortable speaking in the target language. We go through chapters of a lesson plan I created myself-learning vocabulary and grammar by learning the functions of them and completing speaking goals. After just a few lessons, you will find that you will be able to converse in your target language. Your individual pace is the most important to me, so we learn at the speed that you are the most comfortable with.
All I expect from you is to bring a pencil, a good attitude, and the willingness to practice and work hard in our lessons, and I will supply the rest! Looking forward to hearing your beautiful music or voice!

*** Lesson Details *** These details change depending on, whether you would like musical training or academic tutoring. Musical:
Music is fun and the lessons should be as well. When it comes to practice I recommend that students do spend time (1/2-1hour daily) outside of the lessons practicing to ensure that they see results. If you choose to practice only while in the lesson you will get better but it will be at a slower pace.
- Start with quick warm ups (these work to increase students fluidity with their instrument) - Work technique - Assign repertoire depending on skill level. - Work on assigned repertoire - Work on technical aspect of the pieces. Your student will learn much more about their capabilities and their instrument as they will learn many aspects of Music Theory.
I teach beginning- advanced piano lessons touching on posture, hand position, rhythm training, sight-reading, expression, and pop/jazz chord charts. If you want to learn how to play songs by ear that you hear on the radio, I can train you how to do that too! Once I feel that you have surpassed my ability to help you grow, I will be happy to pass you on to a more experienced teacher and attend all of your future recitals.
I teach voice beginner-professional, which includes classical repertoire and technique as well as Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, Standards, Country, RnB,...you name it. The best part is that you will learn to sing in a manner that will not damage your instrument and in fact will work to fortify your instrument.
Academic: - Start with introduction to the standard. - Work on problems with material. - Present new methods to reach a solution. - Work on all assigned work. - Work on future work to give the student an academic advantage.
I am a hard working tutor that will bring the joy of the subject to our sessions of tutoring. I am strict at times, however, some of my students have referred to me as mellow. I will strive to bring your student up to speed and surpass even their own expectations. I love my students, and I want to see them succeed.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, Recording equipment etc.
*** Travel Equipment *** Casio Keyboard Piano, sheet music, and much more equipment as needed.
*** Specialties *** Classical & Jazz Piano, Classical & Contemporary Voice, English Language & Literature, Spanish Language & Literature
I really appreciate Luis for the practice he's given me. We worked on lyric analyzation and flow. We focused on speeding up the meter to work harder in performing faster. I have become better with expressing my vocals in a volume where I can sing a long with the music bed. I highly recommend Luis for anyone who is working on improving their vocal training.

Great lesson! Feel better equipped to order in Spanish now
In my year of teaching ESL I have found a lot of fun ways to transmit a language across cultures. My main goal is that you will be able to communicate, not just conjugate things correctly. We will start with oral comprehension and responses but quickly move on to reading and writing. I'll have worksheets, listening exercise, games and more to help you learn and grow. Lessons can be taught in French or English.
Bonjour tout le monde ! (Hello everyone!)
My name is Mikayla and I cannot wait to meet and teach you my favorite language and life's passion. I have been speaking French for half my life now and I have loved it since day one. I earned my Bachelors in French and Francophone Studies with a minor in European History from San Diego State University in 2014, lived and worked as and English and French teacher in Nîmes (south of France) and I now live in Lyon where I just completed my Masters-FLES (teaching French as a second and foreign language).
I tailor my lessons to fit my students. I look at your level, background, age and goals to find the best course of action for us to take. We work on grammar and vocabulary of course, but also phonetics and French and Francophone culture !
I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive and I p
ull resources from many different places. Currently the books I'm using for instruction are: Latitudes, Adomania, Alter Ego, Tex's French Grammar, Liberté, and SuperMax. I also use many online exercises, songs, videos, and articles to supplement for listening and reading exercises.
Because I live in France, it may appear that my availability isn't all that great -- please note that I am very flexible and I am certain that we can find a time that works for both of us. If this is the case please contact me with times you were hoping to do.
Don't hesitate with any questions ! À bientôt ! (see you soon)
Here is an article I wrote for the TakeLessons blog if you'd like to check it out ! http://takelessons.com/blog/fall-in-france-z04
Currently, I tutor students from different countries, including Colombia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Korea, and Peru to help them in college and business. In Peru and Mexico, I taught ESL full-time to adults, college students, and high school students. The classes ranged from basic English where the students had little to no English experience to advanced business conversation among nearly fluent ESL speakers.
Hi there! My name is Jackie, and I have nearly 20 years of experience in teaching. All of my students, meaning a perfect 100%, have improved their grades by at least one letter grade, if not more, and passed every one of their tests and exams. I help all my students reach their goals.
The feedback I often receive from my students is that I made learning an enjoyable experience—they want to work harder to advance quickly in their classes. All of my students agree that I have a lot of patience and turn even the most challenging lessons into ones of positivity and encouragement. I provide critical feedback in the most constructive of ways that help the students reach conclusions on their own. I enjoy being there to support and guide their experience.
Basically, I love teaching. I'm enthusiastic yet patient, and I absolutely adore helpi
ng kids and adults alike learn. It's such a sense of accomplishment when my students show off their terrific grades. I see the same look in my students’ eyes regardless of age—that pride that shines from within, that exuberant smile, like they can conquer anything. I want my students to keep that pride for a long, long time.
Right now, I’m working on self-publishing a Spanish conversation textbook for beginning students and am writing an intermediate-level Spanish conversation textbook. I've also written several academic articles published online. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, playing with my cat, and swimming.

Hello! If you want to travel to America, you have to deal with Americans, you have to speak English. What makes me a great English teacher? Many things. But lets start with the basics. I have no regional accent. What that means is no American person can ever hear me speak English and determine where I am from. You want to learn from an American English Language coach that has no accent. People from the south, New York City, Minnesota and other regions of the country can have very pronounced accents.
My goal as a teacher is for people to not know that you are a non native English speaker. This means that you will have learned how to create all of the sounds that the English language produces.
DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS!
You are just as smart and capable as they are. I have high expectations of your potential as an English speaker. You should also have high expectations of yourself. I have high expectations of myself as a teacher. I am ...
Hello. What's up? How are you doing? Hi. Hey. What's going on? Those are all various American English greetings. My name is Ronald. My nickname is Ronnie, Ron or Renaldo for my Spanish speaking students :) . I was born in Washington DC. The capitol of the United States. That means I have a neutral American accent. You want your English teacher to have a neutral American accent.
Because people without accents are more easily understood than people with accents. I am a lifelong student of languages. I taught myself fluent Spanish using a cell phone application. I am currently using that same app to become fluent in Egyptian Arabic. It will probably take me 2 years to become fluent in Egyptian Arabic. How did I become fluent in Spanish and soon to be Arabic?
The first step in learning any language is list
ening. If you cannot hear the sounds being made then you will never be able to speak any language. So my primary tool is tuning your ear to American English. I will give you homework assignments that require you to listen to certain sounds and words.
We will also always focus on subjects that YOU are interested in talking about. History, politics, science, current affairs, geography, food, speeches, journalism, etc. My class is great for anyone interested in working with English speakers. aupairs, pilots, doctors, nurses, politicians, students and attorneys can all benefit from my masterful ability to teach people how to understand and communicate in American English!
Ronald es un buen profesor, lo recomiendo. Me ayudo a mejorar tanto mi escritura como mi pronunciacion.

Ronald is a such amazing teacher. He teaches with such pasion because he really likes what he does. We're learning from each other, i teach him Spanish and he teaches me English! Enjoy and improve your english with him, you will never regret picking him as your teacher.
I am a UC Berkeley graduate and TEFL certified. I completed my TEFL in Thailand last year and have been teaching English online full-time for almost one year. I have a combined total of 5 years experience teaching, tutoring, and coaching English speaking and writing. I love to teach and make a difference in the world.
My lessons are fun and easy-going. There are two main strategies I use to teach Enlish:
1) General Conversation. In my "general conversation" lessons, we simply chat for the duration of our time together. During the talk, I will update corrections to the chat box in real time. Then we can discuss or you can review later at your convenience. Totally up to you!
2) Formal Lesson. In "formal lessons," I will instruct a lesson based upon your agreed skill or comfortability level. We can make this decision together. The lesson will either be based upon visual aids that I provide, online materials, or both!
My students have had success with, and enjoyed, both. You
I am a UC Berkeley graduate and TEFL certified. I love to teach and help others reach their goals. It would be my pleasure to help you learn and speak English in the most effective way!!
I made sure to include 15 minute lessons so that you would have an opportunity to meet with me before making a big commitment. I can provide formal and informal lessons (with corrections), for both kids and adults!
Teaching English online has become my passion. I've also made my lessons very affordable so that most people on "Taking Lessons" will have access to less expensive, high-quality English lessons.

"Bryce is an excellent teacher! He is very patient and he makes every lesson fun, engaging and relevant. I’ve learn a lot with Bryce’s help as he provides
pertinent and constant feedback. I also have been able to improve my pronunciation a lot, which has always been a huge concern for me. I’m very pleased with the results I’ve got with Bryce’s tutoring and that’s why I happily recommend him as the best tutor you could ever have. Thanks Bryce!"
"Thank you for your good lesson!"
"The best teacher! Thank you."
"Hello, When I moved from Russia to US in 2011, my English was at beginner’s level and I desperately needed to start speaking this language as soon as pos
sible: especially for my job but also for my every day life. I tried to take some ESL classes at local colleges and also study with a tutor but it did not work very well. Instead I became more afraid of making mistakes or saying something not correctly. I was frustrated and started to think that I am just not made for learning new languages. I heard about Roman from my colleague who did intensive French language program designed and taught by mr. Nam. So he told me that Roman also teaches ESL. I decided to give it a try. After three months of classes with Roman my English improved so much! From the beginning of classes I started to feel so motivated and everything was explained in really simple way. I don’t really understand how Roman was doing this but every class and even every homework was so interesting and so fun to do. I loved to hear myself speak English better and better. I started to use my english in any situation and I felt so confident. Now, after four years living in US my English is much better but i know that the most important step in my progress was the program I did with Roman and I am very thankful for all his help."
"I've chosen Staphanie as my teacher, because I needed someone who will really quickly help me make my English accent better. I took the fact that she is a
lso a musician as a big advantage as I assumed she'll be able to hear all the false accentuation I make. In fact, if you want to work on your English skills, it's the best combination of skills. It was really clever decision. Stephanie is able to explain things clearly and fast. Step by step, syllable by syllable, trains student how to speak properly. If you're ready to do your homework and want to see progress fast, Stephanie is perfect person to work with. And she is very kind, too!"
"Matt is a wonderful tutor. I recommend him highly to all ESL students."
"He was very patient and encouraging. I was able to pass the IELTS with his help!"
"Teaches very well, and he is humorous , responsible and experienced."
Although English idioms don't make sense at first, these unique expressions (together with proverbs) add substance and humor to our conversations. The Oxford Dictionary defines the word "idiom" as a: "group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g. over the moon, see the light)."
This means that English idioms should not be taken literally, because their meaning is metaphorical. You don't really wish someone would “break a …
