"Phonics" are the basic foundation of all alphabet-based writing. For learning to read English, students learn best when taught a combination of phonics and sight-words. (English is full of words that are NOT spelled phonetically; however, the rules of phonics do have a definite place in learning to read English.)
With beginning readers, I incorporate songs and rhyme to help children hear and understand phonics. I also use rhythm/percussion to help children distinguish syllables.

Linda is awesome. After 3 lessons I'm getting pretty good at a couple of basic rolls and have a song to work on. She is patient and knowledgeable, and has helped me get basic technique going. So far so good.

Dr George Ilodi is an astute instructor, with impeccable character and overwhelming approach in delivering his lectures. Dexterity and holistic reviews of courses taught during the semester is second to none. His class was fantastic and the exams were well made and portioned appropriately. Although his can be funny and strict, he is also vastly knowledgeable, and willing to help students. The class material splendid and made the class enjoyable overall. I would strongly recommend him to any other student.”

I thoroughly enjoy what I do. I have tutored part-time and full-time for more than 10 years. I worked for a large standardized test preparation company, and I have tutored independently since 2012. I have had multiple 99%ile students for the SSAT. I attended Westminster high school from K-12 and Stanford University for a BA in History ( and spent a year abroad in tutorials at Oxford University in England). I make my lessons fun, enjoyable, enriching, and productive. My students tend to raise their scores and gain admission to their target schools after completing a course of study with me and working assiduously on their own.

About Robert

I have tutored part-time and full-time for more than 10 years in the Atlanta area. I have taught students online from as far flung as Hong Kong. I tutor in-person and online. I meet my students either at their homes, at a Starbucks, or at a library. I have had great success in standardized test

About Daniel

Hello,

With over 8 years experience in tutoring, I have learned what methods work and those that don’t. I’m upbeat, patient, easy going, empathetic, and generally well-liked by others. I’m very good at adapting to different learning styles and have a knack for eliciting the best out of my students through motivation and positive reinforcement.

Throughout university, and after, I mentored many students with great results. In addition to academics I helped them get the most out of their college experience. Everyone I helped benefited greatly, and one runs a very successful consulting business.

Aside from math and English, I’m a very proficient test and note taker. I speak conversational Spanish, and basic Japanese.

About Mitch

Whether you're completely lost, just need a little help, or need some test/note taking tips I can be very helpful. My patient, easy going, and positive mindset is very conducive to creating a great learning atmosphere. I can also be very useful to those that aren't motivated, I have a knack for fin
