Music Director of the Chicago Philharmonia Orchestra since 1985, Farobag has also served as Managing Director of the University of Chicago Performing Artists Series from 1989 through 2002 and principal conductor of its resident professional ensembles. A skilled interpreter of Baroque literature as well, Farobag continues in his capacity as Artistic Advisor to the Baroque Masterplayers, a virtuoso ensemble that concatenates period performance techniques with modern instruments thus creating a unique voice within the realm of 17th and 18th- century repertoire.
A double graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, Farobag studied under Anastasia Jempelis, a pioneer of Suzuki violin pedagogy in the United States. In addition to the Suzuki curriculum, he is also associated with the Royal Conservatory Music Devel
opment Program that sets a national standard of musical achievement in various fields.
Befitting his penchant for encouraging artistic interest amongst younger members of his community, Farobag is also the principal conductor of the Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra that offers a unique mixture of young and seasoned professionals sitting side-by-side in a strictly professional setting. Since the year 2000, the ZSO has staged highly successful performances at various venues in Houston, Chicago, and Toronto. A New Year's eve performance in Los Angeles is scheduled for 2014.

I was getting really discouraged with MCAT studying and practice, so I decided to contact Dr. Alan.
He is extremely knowledgeable in general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochem. He also knows how the MCAT exam is designed and written. He is a great source of information.
Furthermore, he prioritizes making sure his students understand why certain answers are wrong or right. He is very detail oriented and really wants his students to understand the material.
Dr. Alan tutored me online, and shared his screen with me while working out chemical reactions and problems. He then saved all of that work and emailed it to me, so I could refer to it later.
Dr. Alan definitely tries to provide his students with the resources to succeed. He sends his students extra practice as well as power points and tutorials on information that he knows is tested on the MCAT.

I took tutorials on general chemistry with Dr. Alan for one term. He always went extra miles to make sure that I was prepared for my tutorial sessions by sending me enrichment materials on topics that were covered in my class beforehand. He accommodated my learning style and was able to provide supplemental lectures as I requested, which I appreciate tremendously. He was also always very prompt in responding to my emails. He doesn't always provide direct answers when you ask questions, but provides guidance in a way that makes you think -I believe this is essential in learning. The GRE Math Section has presented the greatest challenge to graduate students allowing me to develop a structured practice schedule that involves revisiting the basics of college algebra and elements of calculus to rebuild confidence in problem solving.
