Voice
I am an empathetic teacher, sensitive to the students individual process of learning. My singing lessons usually start with breathing and relaxation exercises. Vocal exercise come next, then when the student is fully warmed up, we will begin to work on songs. It is important that the student be part of the process of picking material since the more they personally respond to the material the more apt they are to be engaged in their lessons and the more quickly they will learn. After three to six months they will understand the fundamentals of breathing and relaxation and its importance to proper vocal training. They will have begun the process of extending their range and will understand the principles of performance in song.
Acting
As an acting teacher and coach, I tailor my classes to the needs of each student. I utilize improvisatory and sensory techniques to help unleash spontaneity. I also encourage the students to use their personal experiences as a way to access a full range of emotions. I enjoy working with the student on script analysis, so as to discover the underlying motivations of the character the student is working on.
Creative and Lyric Writing
I use prompts as a way to get the student writing. Often, I will ask the student to write for stretches of time without editing themselves. It is important to unleash imagination before beginning the process of editing. Many times it is the unexpected that is the must compelling.

Superb teacher. The lessons are fun, interesting, and immensely productive. As far as methodology goes, I am pretty eclectic. Again, methods and approaches are chosen based on students' needs. Sometimes we just have to work on drilling sounds and intonation or some simple grammar concepts like “do/does”, while at other times open conversation is the best way to practice the same content. One key component that doesn’t change is the focus on the student. I work hard on planning my lessons so that my students do most of the work during class. I also strive to contextualize everything around real life by choosing materials that are recent and relevant.

Elena is my best teacher. I would like to share my experience with other students who are struggling with writing essays.

First, as far as an academic part is concerned, I learned how to brainstorm for starting to write an essay quickly and fast.
Like other students, I don't waste a lot of time on brainstorming and making up for supporting details. However, Elena taught me ways of generating ideas quickly as well as making supporting examples of the ideas more stronger.
Therefore, I can write essays in 30mins which are needed in TOEFL Also, in other section in TOEFL such as speaking, I can save my time to do brainstorming by using the same method that I learned from Elena.

Second, as a teacher, Elena has advised me with patiently.
I am not good at expressing my opinions to teachers much. However, whenever I challenged learning English as a second language and was depressed of too slowly building my English skills, she spent time with me, listen to my problem carefully, and encourage me to study hard. Thus, I could get back my confidence.
