I've been teaching acting for more than 20 years and my students (and I) have gone on to work in theater, film, TV, commercials, modeling, voice overs, and more! Within the first few lessons, you'll you'll learn acting basics and start creating and acting as different characters. I have a large library of acting materials as well as acting literature. Acting techniques may include: The Meisner technique, method acting, classical language interpretation, improv, and acting for the stage, and more! I love working with students of all experience levels to learn how to "professionally pretend."
I offer a fun, interactive teaching style that encompasses more than 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience. As a performer I have worked as a professional singer, actor, musician, and dancer. I have always had a passion for teaching, directing, and composing. While my love for performing has lessened over the years, I have found my true calling: teaching, directing, and helping others to find their passion for music and the performing arts. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a special emphasis in music, theatre, dance, and psychology. I am a graduate candidate working on completing my thesis as my final requirement for a Masters of Arts degree in Music at San Diego State University. Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), California Association of Profession
al Music Teachers (CAPMT), and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

Tiffani was interested in the knowing what I wanted to learn about. I am looking forward to more lessons!
As the creator and producer of San Diego IndieFest and Say It Records, I have a unique understanding of the industry, and love to share that with my students.
It's paramount to me that each student's lesson be customized to her / his specific goals and needs. Whether those are for personal enrichment or for professional aspirations, your lesson will be personalized according to what's important to you.
I LOVE to teach, and appreciate my wee ones just as much as my elders...those who consider themselves "tone deaf" as much as my advanced students. As far as Special Needs go - I feel we *ALL* have special needs....every child and every adult! ;)
Hello Students / Parents!
I specialize in providing a safe, fun and empowering space for each student to reach their goals - whether that be for the novice whose been wrongfully told they shouldn't pursue their passion, the more experienced musician/actor/poet/speaker looking to do more, or the budding artist looking to develop the talent and vision within them. I'm fluent in English and Spanish and have experience singing and recording in many languages.
I always remember the inspiration and patience I received from my best teachers, so I strive to provide exactly that to my own students. I sing and teach most vocal styles, with the exception of opera and screamo, and utilize my studio to create a supportive, non-judgemental experience singing, acting, speaking, writing and recording. I absolutely love teaching both children and ad
ults and look forward to learning how to best support each one of my students in their individual path toward realizing their potential.
Here's a bit about my background and musical experience:
Bachelors of Fine Arts degree (Theatre/Voice) from United States International University Graduated Valedictorian Chula Vista School of Creative and Performing Arts Graduated Valedictorian Workshops and studies with Directors, Voice and Acting Teachers Bill Doyle, Roy Mote, Andrew Barnicle, Jack Tygett, Leanne Summers, Anne Farnsworth, among others.
"After seeing Danielle, I was impressed with her intensity as a performer. Her ability to get behind a lyric was stunning, she lives every line. As an artistic performer, I've yet to see better." -Tony Ferguson / Interscope Records: No Doubt, Bush, Fisher
My original band, Danielle and The Masses, has been recording and performing since 2001. We are endorsed by Justin Tranter, Ani Difranco, The Black Eyed Peas, The Bruce Hornsby Band, among others, and have shared the stage with Jamie Foxx, CAKE, Metric, En Vogue, David Byrne, Berlin, Margaret Cho, Cyndi Lauper, Jonatha Brooke, Beth Hart, Semi Precious Weapons and more.
I have written and performed music and voice over for Ace Ventura, Nutty Professor, VH1, various TV shows and independent documentaries, Eveoke Dance Theatre, among others, and have recorded eight professional CDs of various styles on various record labels.
For over fifteen years, my record / production company, Say It Records has been producing socially conscious music events throughout San Diego and Southern California that promote independent music, film, art, community, human and environmental rights. I also co-own Durga Sound, a teaching and production studio, with producer Alicia Champion. The two of us created and produced San Diego IndieFest for over ten years, a powerful community event promoting and supporting independent music, film, art and civic engagement.
I have a great time utilizing my contacts in the industry to help my students get work/ press / entrance into the schools, agencies and studios of their choice. For example, we were able to book many musicians on the TV show GLEE, among others, as well as help students get their music placed in commercials, film and the like.
*** Lesson Details *** I start on the first lesson by becoming clear about what the new student's goals and desires are from there, we start developing technique to achieve those goals along with having fun right away doing what they came for - singing, writing, voice over, acting or using a combination of these things be it for professional purposes or personal fulfillment. Every lesson is personally customized to meet the specific goals of each student. As a teacher, I'm encouraging and fun, passionate and positive. While I'm definitely not "strict", I do appreciate focus and drive. However, I often work with people who have special needs and are working on developing those very things. I'm especially good at helping people through progress plateaus, roadblocks, stage fright, loss/ stress. Using music as a means of release and healing - for both kids and adults - is something I do a lot of and am very comfortable with.
As far as technique is concerned, I focus on utilizing posture, correct breathing and developing relaxed, strong support, so that the muscles are developed properly. We want the voice to develop without stress, enabling the student to constantly grow while steering clear of any injury that can happen as a result of straining, not to mention other habits that manifest when we sing without proper technique.
I strongly encourage students to record their lessons on a mobile device so they can practice easily on their own, and so they eventually have a record of how far they've grown. We mostly use tracks to develop repertoire, prepare for auditioning and performances, and to have fun singing the music that excites each student the most.

*** Specialties *** Using music, writing and voice as a means of expressing yourself, growing as a performance artist, coping in challenging times, as well as a means of going professional and earning income are all areas I specialize in. Utilizing proper technique and learning how to sing / speak safely is also an area I focus on a great deal.
Learning precisely what each student wants is the key factor in my decision on how to achieve their goals. For example, using Speech Level Singing is definitely entrenched in my teaching, but I may not highlight it as much for those who want a more classical sound.
I excel with the following: first timers, very young kids, students working through stage fright, artists looking to develop their own original project, those seeking growth in their process of writing / recording / performing, those who are interested in using music and / or writing as therapy as well as with amateurs who've always wanted to do something musical but who think they are "too old" or too "untalented/short/tall/ fill in the blank" to try. I believe we all have something to say with our lives - finding the voice within you can be an incredibly powerful and transformative experience!
Ms. Danielle is a wonderful / excellent instructor. I booked 10 sessions with Ms. Danielle for vocal training and it was worth every dollar. I am singing this week at a big event, and because of Ms. Danielle vocal training, I am prepared to sing three back to back songs with the strongest voice ever!!!! Ms. Danielle doesn't know it yet, but I do plan to make her my life vocal coach.

The rating says it all. Best. Instructor. Ever. Danielle is amazing. She's so patient and kind and loving. Half the reason I take lessons from her is because she makes me feel so good about myself. She's so much more than a singing teacher. She's a creative guide. She will help you move beyond self doubt and explore your creativity. And of course, my rhythm and pitch are improving rapidly. Can't recommend her enough!

I enjoy my first lesson with Ms. Danielle. She is a great singing coach. I am looking forward to learning great singing skills from this instructor.
The mission of my studio is to create well-rounded, educated musicians who will always have a lifelong passion for the art no matter their long-term goals. I strive for my students to be:
(1) Lifelong learners who develop successful learning habits. (2) Creative and critical thinkers who will become effective communicators. (3) Responsible and respectful members of society who respect other cultures. (4) Able to set short-term and long-term goals and be able to see them through to their success.
It is of the utmost importance that my students are well-educated in their chosen instrument; they must know and understand music and music-making. Students who can play are a dime a dozen, but students who understand the music they are playing are often hard to find. I teach students to kno
w music thoroughly, not just to “play.” I desire my students to comprehend elements of the score, to use their bodies effectively to make good sound, and to interpret music creatively and according to historical performance practices across all genres of music. Thus, I give students a purposeful education in technique, quality literature, performance and artistry, music theory, and music history.
Although students differ in ability and development, I maintain high expectations for our students. I expect attention and respect in lessons, faithful and diligent practice, careful adherence to instructions, and an “I’ll-do-my-best” attitude. If students regularly meet these expectations, then they will excel to the level that they are able. It is my joy to help students master their music, to do the best they can, and to strive for and achieve excellence.
Lastly, I want students to enjoy and appreciate their instrument, music, and music-making; and I know as as a teacher, I am very influential in making this happen. Students develop enjoyment of music by understanding music, experiencing success in music, being exposed to good and varied genres of music, and receiving instruction from a teacher who is enthusiastic and encouraging. It is my goal to provide all of these opportunities for students, and as a result their lives will be enriched as they enjoy their instrument.
My daughter takes guitar from Maria and I didn’t realize how much she’s progressed until we went to a friend’s recital. 8 months with Maria and my child is leaps and bounds ahead of kids who’ve been taking for 2-3 years. It’s really motivating for her to see. Maria has standards which are non-negotiable but she’s patient and truly guides the kids to success. I’m so happy with our choice as her as a teacher.

Maria has been wonderful with our son. Very motivating and goal based. The recitals blow me away year after year. The progress these kids make with her plus the longevity of her students says a lot.

We love Lauren. She is making violin a great experience for our daughter (11 yrs old). She is very thorough and encouraging, and introduces interesting music that is fun and challenging for a beginner student. Our daughter says she can truly feel her own improvement, and is really happy to have additional lessons with Lauren, beyond what she receives in school. Lauren is flexible with scheduling and very reliable, and we intend to stick with her - and with the violin- for the duration!

Lauren is an awesome violinist. I worked with her in a show and watched her tackle many different styles of music, improvise with other musicians, and collaborate on new material. I would recommend her to anyone!
December 20, 2017
Lauren Thomas is an excellent musician with a tremendous amount of patience and a seemingly boundless supply of talents. As a fellow musician who has played professionally alongside Lauren, I have witnessed first hand her skilled mastery of both the flute and the violin -- as intuitive as she is technically proficient. Apart from her musical abilities, she's kind, fun and sensitive and would make for either a great beginner violin teacher or as an instructor for someone with intermediate skills looking to expand their abilities. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Whether you're seeking instruction in the flute or the violin, Lauren's the woman for the job.
If you’re looking for someone who is more than a teacher then you have found the right fit for you!
I develop my students to become leaders by cultivating personal relationships and offering the best mentorship available.

I’m a film, television, theater and radio actor and producer with a history of 25 years of uninterrupted work in Puerto Rico, the United States, Spain and Colombia. I began working professionally as a teenager and continued on to the Drama Department of the University of Puerto Rico, graduating with honors. I studied classical theater, physical theater and dance, and I’m fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French. I lived in New York City for 8 years, working with The Public Theater and Circle in the Square. Welcomed by the Latino theater circuit of the city, I received several recognitions by HOLA Awards, ACE and ATI. I also hold a certificate in Arts Administration from NYU’s School of Continuing Studies.
My commitment to the Puerto Rican film industry has led me to work in more than thirty films in the island. Some include: An
imal, alongside Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard; Back in the Day, as acting coach for actor/rapper Ja Rule; Sol de Medianoche; El chata; Angélica; and Fistful of Dirt, the first Puerto Rican film invited to the Telluride Film Festival.
I’ve had the opportunity to play important roles of historical figures, such as composer Rafael Hernández and the legendary baseball player Roberto Clemente, a role I successfully reprised in the short film 3,000. Other theater credits include: Godspell, Hamlet, Medea and Infinito enquanto dure.
One of my most important roles was my interpretation of Pedro Knight (Celia Cruz’ husband) in the hit Off-Broadway play Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz; which ran for over a year and traveled to cities such as Miami and Tenerife in the Canary Islands. I reprised Pedro Knight, from his early years this time, in the TV series Celia, produced by Fox Telecolombia and Telemundo, released in 2015. Celia has enjoyed great international success, and can currently be streamed on Netflix.
Likewise, one of my most-awarded performances is in La esclava blanca, the top-rated telenovela for Caracol TV, Colombia (2016). La esclava blanca has been sold to 28 countries, including Poland, the United States, South Africa, Panama and Puerto Rico. Netflix has also acquired streaming rights.

Knowing how to act not only gives you a new and unique skill set but it also helps build your creativity and confidence as a person. Be bold and tell the story, it all starts here!
I am a professional actress with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have been acting for about twelve years now and it is my biggest passion in life!
Growing up as the goofy middle child in a big family I always felt like I didn't get enough attention or that I was overlooked. It wasn't until I stepped on stage that I truly was able to express myself and understand others around me. To me acting is so much more than just pretending, acting is a dramatic reflection of life. You can certainly learn a lot about life from doing it!
I love comedy, tragedy, and everything in between. I have been classically trained in Shakespearean theatre, improvisation, and techniques such as Meisner and Stanislavski. I have performed at theatre's such as The Cumberland County Playhouse, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Fran
cis Wilson Playhouse, Palm Beach Atlantic University Theatre, The Florida Renaissance Festival, Entr'act Theatrix, and most recently The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
I have a huge passion for students of all ages. Along with performing I currently teach theatre to elementary school students through Drama Kids International. my curriculum will be based upon the unique needs of every student. I specialize in monologue and audition help but I would be happy to accommodate any students desire to learn absolutely anything about acting. For example: Improvisation, characterization, comedy, scene study, and much more! I am very spunky and energetic and if you are not enjoying yourself and learning new things every single lesson, then I am doing my job horribly wrong. Let me know if this sounds like a good fit for you!
Hannah helped me prep audition materials and feel more confident in my skills. Definitely recommend!
April 15, 2019
I was so worried about auditioning for a lead role in The Sound of Music. Hannah was a tremendous help by teaching me not only to show emotion in my voice and mannerism but to match that same expression in my body language. Her constructive criticism and guidance helps me to achieve the role of Liesel Von Trapp! Thank you so much!!
"Engaged with what I was looking for. Looking forward to grow under the instruction of John."
"Recently I worked on a callback with Jake. Being an actor himself he knows exactly how to talk to performers in a way that empowers them. In his mock audi
tion settings he successfully creates the feeling of professionalism that you encounter in the world and enables you to find confidence in your process and work within that setting. Most importantly, Jake is encourages you to be yourself and bring you to the audition, not give the people behind the table an idea of what you think they want. Jake understands that auditioning is not about delivering what you think it should be, but taking the opportunity to express your unique self within the character and circumstances."
"Great, supportive teacher. The sessions are useful and motivating to become better in acting."
"She was just wonderful!!! Thank you!"
"Alicia is an awesome coach and motivational speaker. The lessons were very personalized and geared toward my specific Acting goals. She is personable, pro
fessional and positive all while helping to advance your craft!"
"My 11yr old son had his first lesson with David last night. David was wonderful! My son was extremely nervous but said David did a great job of making him
feel comfortable and explaining things to him so he could understand. My son was so so excited after his lesson and wanted to know when his next lesson would be! We are very happy with our decision to take lessons with David!"
"Caroline loved her first acting lesson with Carolyn. She is very much looking forward to her next session."
"My daughter has been a student of Molly's for 3 weeks, now. From day one she has been the most energetic instructor we could have asked for. My daughter l
ooks forward to the practice every week. After her lesson, she is so excited about the range of characters and the skills she's asked to display. Molly is very encouraging and always provides positive reinforcement. My daughter has been in several plays and has had issues with projecting and her confidence. I look forward to her next audition, as I believe Molly's instruction is providing the tools needed to be her best"
"Absolutely loved it and feel he is the best teacher to get my goals accomplished!"
If you're an aspiring Broadway performer, the steps you take during high school play a significant role in your success on the stages of New York shows in the future. Sure, you sometimes hear stories of people who book amazing lead roles in shows after a single audition, but that’s not a realistic view of how it all happens - for most actors, at least. Ask any working Broadway performer – New York is not a city that hands you success simply because you’ve just moved there. Hard work, disc …
