About Daniel
Now accepting students in Aurora, Co. and surrounding areas!!!

In addition to teaching music, I have also worked as a special education assistant and wrestling/track coach at Lake Zurich Middle School South and an assistant Kung Fu/Tai Chi instructor at Green Mountain Arts in Logan Square, Chicago, Illinois. Jazz piano, Voice, and Composition are my main areas of expertise. However, I have also been recording, and playing guitar almost my entire life. I fully believe in music education not only for entertainment and personal enjoyment, but for many other means. Beyond its capacity for being
used as entertainment, music aids in learning, helps develop advanced motor skills, increases memory function, and many other purposes for a well rounded education. It is my goal to help educate the next generation in traditional music practices as well as incorporate new techniques that are relevant to our current day and age.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lesson plans vary from person to person. I always make it a point to get to know the student's existing musical knowledge, goals, and background before I create a personalized lesson plan. All important concepts are covered as they are needed so students can understand theoretical concepts based upon actual application and usage. In short, I teach in a way that students can "dig in" right away and play, create, improvise, sing and/or compose freely and naturally. I always encourage students or parents to contact me with their goals, previous musical training, etc., and discuss what they really want out of lessons so they can get the most out of taking me on as an instructor.

Daniel adapted throughout the course of the hour-long lesson to understand what I already knew and find appropriate ways to fill in the gaps of my knowledge. He also started me on the process of learning a new approach when looking at and learning to play new music pieces.

About Amber
Growing up in Denver, I had a huge desire for singing and performing. By age 14, I was taking weekly singing & piano lessons, was acting constantly in local productions-many times getting the lead role.
Some of the productions I acted in: The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Camelot, Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), How to Succeed in Business (Smitty), Carousel, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, and Oliver (Nancy.)
I received a 4-year scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Stockton, CA. at the University of the Pacific. Upon graduation, I entered graduate school at the University of North Texas to con
tinue my singing and piano studies, along with music theory, history, and musical video production.
Upon graduating UNT, I was chosen among 200 performing arts majors to be the featured soloist at the UNT commencement ceremonies. This led to an offer to tour Italy with the Rome Festival Orchestra. For the next two summers I performed in Copenhagen, Istanbul, Rome and Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic.

*** Lesson Details ***
My students progress VERY quickly! As a teacher, I can easily identify my students’ strengths and weaknesses, and plan an individualized study course. I will instill a solid set of production skills that will easily serve ANY style of music you choose (from rock to opera.)

My students will have performance opportunities every 3 months. I will prepare you for college entrance auditions, TV contests, and television appearances. My students make extraordinary progress-I want you to become one of them!

*** Studio Equipment ***
10x15 dedicated music room, piano, lovely mountain view, mirrors, microphone and sound equipment available for students. The parents of students are welcome to stay in the room with the students, if they choose.

About a year ago I decided I wanted to start writing poetry again. It was something I’d enjoyed doing years before, but I stopped because I had trouble completing poems or felt that the ones I did complete were not as good as they could be. I then decided that I needed to find someone who would guide me through the process and offer feedback and guidance along the way. I was very fortunate to find Thomas Ramey Watson. He is a pleasure to work with. I have been working with Tom on a weekly basis for almost a year. As an educator and writer of poetry, prose, and scholarly articles, Tom's extensive literary knowledge enhances my ability to add depth and breadth to my own work. We generally begin each session with a poem that I feel I have worked through the best I can. Going line by line, stanza by stanza, Tom helps me discover parts of the poem I may want to explore further and helps me accentuate the most powerful parts of the poem. He tells me what he thinks works and what does not, and offers concise guidance on ways to improve. It has been a joy to watch my poetry evolve in different ways and for them truly to come to life. I would encourage anyone who wants to write the best poetry they can to consider working with Tom. He won't write it for you, but he will give you the tools and guidance needed to do it yourself. I've learned that writing a poem is truly a process, and it can take a considerable amount of time to complete just one poem. However, when your poem is done, you will know that it truly is done and be left with a piece of writing that you can be proud of.

I am confident that anyone who has worked with him on various forms of prose writing and studied literature with him can say the same.

I was really pleased with my first session with Thomas. I signed up with Thomas because I wanted someone to help me develop a poem that I am working on. Thomas offered some very valuable feedback and ideas to strengthen my work. To find someone with so much experience as an educator, someone who has written several books, and someone who is passionate about what they do is really quite a gift. I would encourage anyone who is looking to become a better writer to consider Thomas. I am looking forward to my future sessions with him.

I truly enjoy teaching. I've taught in the public school classroom for 11 years. Teaching music is so so much FUN! And it should be fun for the students to learn. When I'm teaching I tell all my students that if they don't enjoy and smile about something, then we need to change something.

I would love to start lessons with you soon.

About Rachel
Rachel has taught private lessons since 2014 and is currently available to teach at your home, local coffee shops and libraries, as well as online. She has successfully helped ESL students learn English by customizing learning activities that are engaging, and stimulate student growth with ease, comfort, and fun.

She has taught for Denver Public School District as a Guest Teacher and volunteered with nonprofit groups as Reading Partners - in which she successfully helped struggling elementary students get on-track with their corresponding reading levels - and working as a camp counselor for
underprivileged youth.

No matter what, Rachel always looks forward to helping students achieve their educational goals and objectives. Her teaching style consists of patience, dedication, and discipline.

Actively listening to her student's needs is also an integral component to Rachel's teaching philosophy. Discovering what one student might need from a learning environment could be the polar opposite of the next student might require. (It's not to say that one is necessarily better or worse; it's more like although there are two different roads that a person could choose to take, both will nevertheless take you to your destination).

Listening closely to her students also helps with adapting and designing lessons to not only reflect individual learning styles and preferences, but to also set students up for achieving success and fulfilling their potential.

Rachel received her Bachelors in Communication from Northern Arizona University in 2008 and concluded her radio broadcast internship as Website Entertainment Editor upon graduating.

She went on to University of Phoenix, where she led communication endeavors as a project consultant for a knowledge base renovation and has since been tutoring and teaching for public and private education.
