Jan is a fun and dynamic instructor whose patience and attention to the needs of her students has been instrumental in helping my daughter enjoy and thrive in her voice and piano lessons. While some instructors, in our experience, have been excellent musicians but poor teachers, Jan's style and flexibility make her an ideal person for passing on her knowledge to students, so that they in turn develop their own musical talents and shine. Many thanks, Jan, for your gifts!

With a BA in Acting from London's Central School of Speech and Drama, Crystal has learned to use the nuts and bolts of technique to support freedom in artistic choice. With a focus on stage performance, she works with students to find their own unique approach to acting.

About Crystal
Crystal brings a lifetime’s experience of professional musicianship to each of her lessons. Born into a family of musicians, she sang her first solo at age 2. She also benefits her students with an extraordinarily diverse musical background, having worked as a vocalist in gospel, country, musical theater, jazz, classical, rock, pop and soul styles. Her performing career has taken her from L.A. church meetings to London’s Houses of Parliament.

Crystal hails originally from Los Angeles, CA - where her musical parents gave her a head start by including her in the family business the moment she was able to contribute. She went on to study classical voice, piano and music theory at The Boston Conservatory of Music. After concluding her studies in London, she returned home and began working regularly as a theater performer, appearing in twen
ty world premiers and re-imagined classics. Most notably she played the lead role of Keely Smith in the big band jazz musical “Louis and Keely: Live At The Sahara” during its eight-month run at Westwood’s Geffen Playhouse. She also formed her own rock band, The Honeysuckle Jones Revival, with whom she performed her own songs all over Los Angeles. And she began working as a studio session vocalist, providing demo vocals for other songwriters, as well as arranging and performing back-up vocals for original artists, including Laura Roppe (currently in the Top Ten on Billboard’s Uncharted list of emerging artists.) Crystal played the lead role of Brooke in the new operatic rock musical “The Burning Opera LA” during its Los Angeles run in 2011 as well as providing ensemble vocals and playing piano and bass. She also performs holiday tunes from the Golden Age of American songwriting with musical quartet The Sleigh Belles.

Crystal believes that music is serious business but that it should be fun. She encourages her students to play music they love, as well as expanding their musical knowledge. She is a firm believer in basics first and emphasizes theory and technique as the tools to support creativity and provide freedom, power and control. She believes effort beats talent every time and the student who practices consistently will see results, whatever their level of ability. Most of all, she believes we were all born to make music.

*** Lesson Details ***

Amazing singng instructor

Crystal has increased my daughter’s self-esteem and expressiveness through song. My daughter is now writing her own poetry and song lyrics, as well as being able to combat her once shyness quality. She loves to perform in front of others now and has a confidence level that amazes me, especially now that she is going into those “teen” years. I think a lot of thanks needs to go to Crystal, for assisting my daughter in reaching her current creative level!

Need help taking your sales presentations to the next level?

Hi, I'm Stephen.

I'm a vocal trainer, private/on-set acting coach, consultant, and songwriting teacher. My specialty is pop/rock, broadway, on camera, live presentations/sales, and helping songwriters find their voice, both lyrically and sonically.

Tap Into Your Artistry (TIYA) is the ultimate gym for singing, acting, and songwriting. Check out tapintoyourartistry.com

Discover the fastest and most efficient way to build, strengthen, and condition your voice. Simple, safe, systematic vocal exercises that embrace a Zen like approach with an athletic mentality.

I'm also an AEA and SAG-AFTRA actor and ASCAP songwriter and producer. If you want to learn more about audi
tioning, acting in movies, performing musicals/plays on Broadway, writing your own songs, and developing show-biz career strategy, (headshots, meeting agents/managers, etc) I help TIYA members every day achieve their artistic dreams.

MORE INFO:
I have been singing since I was 3, anything and everything from Michael Jackson to Elvis Presley to Luciano Pavarotti. Originally from Colorado, I studied music/theatre, as well as vocal pedagogy at The University of Colorado at Boulder, where I graduated with highest honors. I made my Broadway debut in "The Phantom of the Opera" at age 24. I also performed in "Chess in concert" as a featured rock tenor soloist at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway with Josh Groban. I have understudied and performed lead roles in the first AEA National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "Whistle Down the Wind." Regionally, I have played many lead roles all over the United States in productions including "Les Miserables," "Miss Saigon," "The Wild Party," and "She Loves Me."

I have recently released a singing online course. Feel free to check out Udemy and look for Sing Like You've Always Imagined to see what is new!

As an ASCAP recording artist, currently I am working in the studio with a full production team on my first pop/rock album. I also often sing on demos for producers and write songs for other artists in many different genres.

As a TV/Film actor, most recently I was on set with Marvel's "Luke Cage" on Netflix, and I played the lead role of (Abraham) Lincoln in the SAG-AFTRA short film, "These Honored Dead." I also have played lead roles in 4 SAG-AFTRA short films, as well as the comedic lead in a SAG-AFTRA Web-series pilot, "Bodega Nights." I was called back for producers as a Series Regular for both Cinemax and HBO.

TIYA clients include (aspiring) Broadway performers, Film and TV actors, singer-songwriters, voice-over artists, news anchors, dancers, comedians, corporate sales presenters, as well as karaoke enthusiasts, and songwriting hobbyists.

My TIYA members have performed on television in Smash, Glee, and venues around NYC ranging from The Underground, Le Poisson Rouge, Drom, Cornelia Street Cafe, Arlene’s Grocery, to the Broadway productions of Ghost, Sister Act, Evita, Wicked, West Side Story, South Pacific, The Phantom of the Opera, and Rent to name a few.

*** Lesson Details ***
We will always work on whatever you want.

For Singing, as a vocal technician/trainer I am like going to the gym for your voice. My exercises are safe, simple, and most importantly, I teach you how to practice correctly.

For ACTing, we can explore both the foundation itself with monologues and scenes, as well as the tricks of the trade mastering the camera frame and how to create memorable auditions for TV/Film.

For Songwriting, we can explore the fundamentals of both lyrics and music, as well as catchy hooks, production, and song structure.

You may use my time however you wish (Voice, Acting, Songwriting, or Artistic/Career guidance).

Most vocal sessions will usually be a combination of strengthening/conditioning exercises, and then exploring/performing a song.

The TIYA vocal training method is uniquely my own as it combines both Bel Canto and Speech Level Singing. Emphasis is on developing a relaxed, released, authentic vocal timbre to sing in any style. Concepts explored include: Coordination, Registration, and Intonation. Chest, Head, Edge, and Pharyngel registration, 2 instruments in 1, posture, breath management, vocal cord adduction, trigger phrases, ring, consistency, and more.

Most ACTing sessions will be theatre monologues, TV/Film sides and/or On camera auditioning craft.

Career consultations usually include how to get an agent, headshots, branding, and marketing to align your artistic dreams with a strategy for success.

About Briana
Briana teaches voice to all ages and all levels. She incorporates breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, and ear training, into all lessons, as well as performance practice of a song from any genre of the student's choosing. Once the student masters the song, he or she also has the unique opportunity to record the song in Briana's home studio. Briana also holds a masters degree in English literature and has been teaching English for over 15 years. She is qualified to teach the following: English as a second language, creative writing, English literature, advanced essay writing, composition, and a wide array of others. Brian
a has studied various vocal genres under a wide variety of coaches: classical, chamber, and pop voice; musical theatre voice and jazz, soul, R&B, and gospel technique at McGill University in Montreal. Briana also spent 10 years studying the classical Suzuki method of piano under Phyllis Kranz (Dover, NH), which helped to develop her ear.

Briana can be heard in commercials including the 2015 international campaign for Coca-Cola directed by David LaChapelle, the 2015 American Express campaign, backing Aretha Franklin on the legendary "Natural Woman," Maybelline's CS Creamy Mattes starring supermodel Adriana Lima, David LaChapelle's Smirnoff spot starring Amber Rose, the 2011 Fanta "Vision" campaign, and national advertisements for "Living Social." Supportive, fun, and SO knowledgeable

I started taking singing lessons because I wanted to pick up another hobby, and Briana has helped me do just that. She is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive regardless of what your goals are. She makes the technical side of signing fun and enjoyable, something other teachers I have worked with have been unsuccessful at. Briana provides a positive and warm space to let loose in, and most importantly has reminded me that I don't always have to take myself so seriously. I highly recommend Briana to anyone who is looking for a teacher they can create a connection with, regardless of skill level because she can handle it all!

I have been teaching and coaching actors for 20 years. My students work professionally on stage, TV and film. Within the first few lessons, you will understand how to create a character. Soon, you will have the skills to book a role. I specialize in method acting, but draw upon my experience at The Second City (improvisation) in Chicago and other training I have had. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels; I can't wait to meet you!

About Jeremy
Are you working on a part for a play or film and need assistance? If you are new to acting, I can teach you what it takes to be an actor and how to bring a character to life. Do you need to prepare for an audition? Do you want to learn about the business of acting? Script analysis? I can help.

I can help with your audition for performing arts high schools. My students have gotten into the schools of their choice.

If you have training or are a working actor, I can help take you to the next level.

I am a working actor, published playwright and award winning filmmaker. I graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where I majored in drama. I taught Method Acting, Acting for Camera, Improvisation as well as other classes at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. My
students, both at the Institute and from private coaching, have appeared in independent stage and film productions, TV shows, commercials and Hollywood films.

Acting is the art of bringing a character to life. I use the Lee Strasberg Method, my original exercises and a fun and serious demeanor to help actors express themselves as artists and gain the confidence and skills they need in order to book acting jobs.

My book, "The Young Actor's Handbook", is published by Applause Theatre and Cinema Books. "The Young Actor's Handbook" ignites the beginning actor's creative soul with acting exercises, acting theory, writing exercises and insight into what it means to be an actor. This is a pragmatic manual that guides and informs the young actor, beginning actor, novice acting teacher or anyone who wants to understand acting.

"Jeremy Kruse's book, "The Young Actor’s Handbook", leads the young actor on the correct path. Jeremy is an experienced acting teacher who has broken down acting in an academic way while nurturing the soul of the actor. He understands the emotional aspects of good acting. I commend Jeremy and believe he has accomplished quite a feat in writing "The Young Actors Handbook." - Vincent D'Onofrio

Learn the techniques that I learned at THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL. I have worked on screen with Mathew Mcconaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michael Shannon, Amy Schumer, Zooey Dechanel, Michelle Monaghan, Jamie Bell, etc. I’ve originated numerous roles in Obie and Lortell award winning and Pulitzer nominated Off-Broadway plays under some of the best directors including TONY award winner, David Cromer. Since 2012 I’ve had the great pleasure of coaching and teaching actors of all levels. This is training for people serious about taking their acting to the next level. Whether you’re starting out and looking to establish a sturdy base of the correct fundamentals, or you’re looking to explore every crevice of a scene for that screen test, these tools will help you unearth the truth of every moment that you portray.

About Robert
I am a professional actor working in stage, film, and tv. I received my BFA in drama from The Juilliard School in NYC.

In acting we seek out a very simple thing that is shrouded in an utterly complex set of circumstances, a moment of truth. My students develop a toolbox of classical training techniques; from scene study to voice and speech, which we work on putting into practice with practical grounding mental insights that come from years of experience employing this training in the acting industry.

I have originated roles in numerous plays Off-Broadway and performed on stages from Los Angeles to London, working with award winning writers such as Ethan Cohen, Adam Rapp, Brandon Jacob Jenkins, and directors such as TONY award winner David Cromer. While acting alongside the likes of Helen Hunt, Michael Shannon, Michael Mckean, Shirl

I love the art of storytelling, one of our oldest human traditions. I love the excavation of a piece, finding it's spine, and the delicate elegance of bringing it to life. I hope to share that love of the art form with you.

I’ve watched Mr. Beitzel give everything from full, in-depth lessons to small morsels of advice that change a performance entirely. Every time I’ve been impressed with his eye for the truth and the ease/effectiveness with which he conveys what he sees to the actor. He takes his time, he cares, and above all he loves the craft of acting.

Rob has an ability to get to the heart of what a scene is truly about and work with actors on how best to incorporate themselves into their character. Rob knows how to talk to actors in a way that is understandable and relatable, and organically helps them achieve a higher level of acting. He finds what techniques and triggers work best for you - maximizing your potential in the most efficient manner. He is an astute judge of character and has a very good sense of what will work best in a scene. As a Casting Director I have sent many actors to Rob over the years and have always been impressed with the progress once rob has started working with them.
