While I now primarily sing classical repertoire, my roots are in Musical Theater. My passion for singing grew from a love of Broadway and I have many years of experience performing in and assisting with musicals. My goal is for all of my singers to have a foundation of healthy vocal technique, which I build from my knowledge of classical voice. This allows for a deeper understanding of how the voice functions and leads to an overall stronger sound.

Having been a dancer my whole life, with 10+ years of intensive training, many featured dancer roles, and serving as the Dance Captain for musicals, I am well equipped to help my students with this aspect of Musical Theater. With high level training in acting and straight theater, I provide my students with tools for perfecting monologues, lines, character development, and interpretation.

Whether you would like to work on singing, dancing, acting or all three, I am happy to help. I would love to help you discover more about Musical ...

Students can expect that they will improve with me if diligent and focuses practice is put in every day. I will recommend books and tools to help them improve, as well as fundamental warm-ups and daily practice exercises designed to help them progress as quickly as they can (provided they are done correctly!).

The trombone has a wonderful sound, but there is a bit of a learning curve due to the slide (even though making that glissando/slide sound is a ton of fun). I am dedicated to work with my students to help them navigate the challenges that come from not having valves like the other brass instruments so they can really make the trombone sing!

About Daniel

Whether you are just looking to learn a new skill or make a living as a professional, I am passionate about helping my students to find their path in life as music makers. To me, this means bringing the music off the page, and finding/playing what has not been written in ink. Music is about more tha

We will use one of the beginner books depending on your level of ability. I want to use scales and exercises to make sure you are getting a good foundation as a clarinet player. We may play duets to help you increase your independence. I want to see you working on a solo also to be performed at recital.

About Dan

I am a retired band director with thirty-two years of experience. Mr. A. has a talent for teaching that makes it a privilege to be one of his students. Our son has been thoroughly enjoying the time under his tutelage, and continues to do so via video while in-house is not an option. The trumpet lessons have included trumpet technique, musical notation and reading, ear training, trumpet hygiene, and instrument care.
Mr. A. is a respectful, punctual, and precise teacher who inspires students to reach their potential.

Mr. Arnold has a very thorough knowledge of music and what it takes to physically create music. If you don't understand something one way, he will explain it in other way's that you do understand. He seems to have no limit to his patience and caring about his student's. A great sense of humor, a guy you would like as a neighbor.

Strong instrumental playing begins with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of music and the simple act of making a sound from the instrument. Students learn to play music by ear first, and are later introduced to music notation. More advanced lessons emphasize sight-reading, expression, and improvisation.

A woodwind player since age 10, Thomas has experience as a performer and teacher. His previous education has included methodology classes on teaching specific instruments, and he is available to teach intermediate and beginning saxophone lessons.

About Thomas

The first lesson was successful. My particular background in piano is unique, and my needs are atypical as well. I thought Thomas assessed my abilities, lack of abilities, and goals well and quickly. He started me on a different perspective on looking at music (reading the staff) that seems very helpful. I'm encouraged.

"Natalie is a wonderful tutor who is extremely knowledgeable in many academic areas including math, language arts and specialized testing, including the CogAT. Our son has been tutored by Natalie for a year now and it has been an incredible experience to watch him grow academically. She is very thorough in her approach and knows how to engage her students to target specific areas of academic need as well as strengthen areas of existing knowledge through enrichment. Since starting with Natalie, his grades have skyrocketed and his test taking skills and abilities have improved to top tier levels. We can't say enough good things about her.
