Don does an outstanding job! He is able to connect authentically my son and customized the lessons to fit his learning style and needs. Don has drawn so much out of him musically and has also built a community of students that play together. He makes the lessons fun and engaging. He has opened up my 7-year old to the joy of playing and performing and has helped create a love of music. I highly recommend Don as a music teacher.

I specialize with English for Japanese learners, but I will take teach everyone who wants to get better. I just say that because I know Japanese, so I have a unique perspective for Japanese learners. We can cover any questions you have, but I think one of the most effective things I can do is to facilitate lots of conversation.
Most people just need more conversation to get better, and so I want to help foster an environment where students can speak A LOT, get out of their shell, make mistakes, and make their speaking more fluent.

We can come up with topics or media to help assist is in knowing what to talk about, or have things to talk about. I'm always open to questions, but I think that the most relevant questions will come from their experiences trying things out and wondering how "this" or "that" is said. I spent two years talking to thousands of Japanese in and around Tokyo as a missionary, and that's what I've found to be most effective. I have since worked for a ...

About Richard
My goal is to help students ENJOY the piano by finding ways to make it easier and doable. I have a very useful approach in helping students become self sufficient to sight read very well, to see patterns, understand music theory to either help them play well, or to even create their own music(I compose a lot of great music as well)

I couldn't sight read very well until I was 16, but I had a great sight reading teacher that showed me how to develop it, and now I can say that I'm one of the best sight readers out there that I know. I was a ballet pianist at Brigham Young University for several years where all I did was sightread binders full of ballet/classical music. I play for choirs, church congregations, jazz bands, or musical jam sessions all the time, and I couldn't do that at all if I didn't learn how to sight read well.
I would love to help you learn the piano, and I will do my best to make learning as effective as possible. I especially enjoy teaching those who quit and would like to try again, because I know what that is like.

Concerning my musical background, I've played, arranged, and composed piano for choirs, bands, jazz combos, singers. I've been in bands all my life, and have composed for jazz bands, choirs, and orchestras at BYU and in Eastern Europe. I also play about 10 different instruments. I won two Student Emmys in Hollywood for my compositions to BYU's animations in 2010 & 2014.

I am currently writing music for video games.

Hi everyone, my name is Odaya, and I am the coolest English teacher you will ever find:)))

I have been teaching English for several years and have a great experience with ESL students. Honestly, I know that being an English student can be sometimes very challenging, when you take English courses over and over again. At first, you may think that the problem is you but over time you will realize that every teacher has her/his own teaching method and you just need to be patient to find yours.

My teaching combine many different approaches, which I developed over time. Mostly, at the initial meeting I ask my students about their goals and together we find the way to achieve them.

For being successful, I would say that, the only think most people need, is to have a discipline that will force them to find the time to learn, but not everyone has that. That is why few classes with teacher can help you to feel more comfortable with things you struggled with and, help you become a ...

When I started Ted talk Odaya she advised me to read at loud, when I didn’t understand something. When I practiced that later at home, I felt the change. I am very much excited for my next class

Hi! I'm a Native English speaker from California, USA. I have found new, innovative ways to learn and teach languages based on my personal experience studying languages. As many of us know, the standard classroom structure of language-learning is inefficient, often unhelpful, and not at all fun. I've perfected new ways to teach and learn a second language (or third... or fourth...) that combine real-life speaking opportunities with immersive listening experiences, attuned to the learning preferences of individuals (audio, visual, or kinesthetic-oriented). I love connecting with people from different parts of the world, and also with those in my own community! I can also communicate with Spanish and Hebrew-speaking students who are trying to learn or improve their English.

About Devorah
California born and raised, I love languages, travel, reading, and music. I've dedicated the past year to understanding which methods of language learning work, and which don't. I come from a community with a large immigrant population, and I want to give back to similar communities, or any individual who wants to learn the English language as an immersive cultural experience, immigrant or not. I teach in a personable, easygoing, but highly structured style.

Active engagement in learning through pictures, words and activities. Conversation style classes with learning the way you did as a child.

About Lauren
Hi! I'm Lauren! I'm a fun and energetic teacher who likes to see my students thrive! I have two master's degrees, one in clinical psychology and one in nursing. Teaching has always been a passion and has been a part of my life since 2009 when I first started teaching at a university. I teach both clinically and one on one in various subjects including English. I teach based on active learning and recall; the way you learned when you were a child. Flashcards and studying are important, but actually speaking the language and immersing in the language is more important. I like my students to experience the language not just "learn" it. At the university where I taught, I was consistently rated one of the school's favorite professors! For those in the medical field, I can also teach medical English, as I am also a nurse practitioner
. Lets have fun while also learning!

Come learn English with me!

About Rebecca
Graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music with a degree in Commercial Music and Vocal Performance, I have taught dozens of students in piano ranging from children to adults.
I grew up learning to play the piano with the Suzuki Method, and furthered my skills and practice by becoming an accompanist at a local church for many years.
Throughout High School, I acted as the junior accompanist for our top choir.
I have toured Germany, France, and Switzerland both with my High School choir as well as the top choir of my university, being honored with the privilege of singing the Soprano solo of Mozart's Requiem in cathedrals throughout Europe.
As a freshman in college, I immediately began tutoring students of all years, including seniors in both Math and Music Theory, as the two subjects are invariably linked. This began my passion for
teaching!
Since then, I have taught many students in voice and piano. I love teaching and empowering others to meet their goals!
I look forward to working with you one-on-one!
