*** Lesson Details ***
First, I need to talk to my students about their goals. Not only for the adult, teacher also need to know what kids want to know about music. They are interested in it sometimes, they just don't know. Second, I will let them know, interests is just the first step. If you want to learn, you have to pay! Pay your patient, and your endeavor. I will teach in some specific ways to motive students to approach the goals. for example: listen, singing, playing, reading is the process to make the students catch the goal faster without lost their interests! So involve more activities in the lessons is very important! Also, serious technique practice is necessary. As I mentioned before, not only interests, if you want to learn , you have to pay. Once you catch your goal, you will feel happy that the teacher has been pushed you for some boring finger exercise.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I do have a grand piano at home. For violin students, they should have their own instrument.

Lipeng is very patient and encouraging for my beginner 11-year-old, using the video format well to demonstrate the songs and watch the student. She has been a good fit for a player who is motivated to improve but can complain a little bit about practicing everyday.

Very first lesson with Lipeng and I enjoyed it so very much. Lipeng encourages to listen to the music and then accentuate the notes to make it music, not to simply play them.

I am a native Chinese speaker who has a license in teaching Chinese, but license is not all about my teaching. I am an energetic college student in the U.S. who is passionate about languages. Reading, writing, listening and speaking, I know how to knock any of them down from my personal experience learning other languages (English and Portuguese). Trust my ability and I will make you confident in speaking up!

About Yuexin
Hey, I am a rising junior at Colorado College, studying Comparative Literature and Music. I am originally from Shenzhen, China. Currently living in the States, I'd lived in Brazil for 2 months, and will be studying arts in Finland for a semester soon. I play the banjo, do all kinds of arts (mostly drawing and stained glass), and travel.

I have taught people of all ages Chinese. The 4 main parts of a language are reading, writing, listening and speaking; let me know which is your most interested area and we will knock it down. My teaching style is encouraging and well-organized, and yes! I cook Chinese and could teach you some recipes.

Let me know if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them. :)

I have taught Chinese to students aged 5-18 at a Chinese Language Specialty School in Moscow and to adults. I also prepared students for each level of Chinese proficiency qualifications (YCT, HSK).
Certifications: Master's degree in Linguistics (Theory and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages); HSK Level 6

About Zhao Yang
Hi! 你好!Привет!

My name is Zhao Y! I specialize in tutoring Mandarin Chinese, Russian and ESL. I have four years of experience with one-on-one teaching as well as teaching in a classroom setting. I have taught Mandarin Chinese and English to students from 1st to 11th grade at a Chinese Language Specialty School in Moscow and to second year university students.

At my lessons, I have creativity and do my best to build an exciting and interesting learning experience. In practice I utilize interactive teaching methods and activities to motivate students to learn and communicate in a foreign language. I often use visual aids, such as software tools or videos and make students feel that learning a foreign language is fun and interesting.

I believe culture is a crucial concept in language teaching, in a certain sense language learning
is culture learning. So my lessons always include a basic cultural section where I introduce culture and customs to the students.

I am happy that my passion for learning foreign languages became my profession. Teaching foreign languages for me is a Never-Ending Professional Development Journey. It’s a profession that allows me to be creative, work with a variety of different people, travel all over the world and inspire students not only academically but personally as well.

About ali
My name is Ali You, I am a second-year graduate student, and my major is violin performance. In May 2017, I will graduate from Boston University and get my master of music degree.

I’ve begun to study in BU with Professor Bayla Keyes since 2015, in these two years, I’ve learned a lot from her, not only my violin skill, but also a lot of teaching methods.

I got my bachelor degree in Renmin University of China, which is one of the best university in China. I had 24 students before I came to States, several of them won the first prize in different violin competition.

I’m very patient, I have a beautiful smile, of course, and the most important thing is I can teach well. Most of my student can learn very fast and be very happy at the same time. I hope my student to love music instead of just playing the music

I found Ali through Thumbtack where I searched a violin teacher for my 4yrs old daughter. After two lessons, I made a decision to learn together with my daughter. Ali is very friendly and nice and professional. I share the one hour lesson with my daughter with no extra fee charged. Time flexible too! I have been learned for two months, improved very fast after her guide. Recommended!
