(you + lessons [with Chris]) x (commitment - difficulty) = better grades in math in no time!
A short history of my experience with music and education:
The first instrument I learned to play was the guitar in 2001.
I played the guitar on the worship team at FBC of Midway in Plant City, FL from 2001 to 2005.
I began teaching private music lessons in 2003.
I played bass guitar in a Christian rock band called of Anastasis from 2003 to 2005.
I played acoustic, electric, and bass guitar on the worship team at Family Worship Center in Lakeland, FL from 2006 to 2012.
I worked as a freelance audio engineer with my in-home recording studio throughout college (and now I just do it for fun).
I played bass and sang background vocals in a worship band called Skyline from 2007 to 2009.
I taught music and trained a student led worship team at Hope Christian Academy from 2009-2010.
I began performing independently from
2009 to present.
I played guitar and sang lead vocals in a Christian Rock Band called A Story Familiar from 2010 to 2012.
From 2010 to 2012, I taught in the Polk County public school system of Florida from 2010 to 2012, where I also worked heavily with students with special needs.
In July of 2012 I moved to Aurora, CO as a volunteer musician to help plant Streams Church.
In January of 2013 I married my beautiful wife.
Upon arriving home from our honeymoon, I was hired as Worship Director for Streams church, and I have worked there since. Some of my responsibilities include developing and executing weekly music set lists, creating charts and sheet music for new songs, and training the worship team in new music.
As for me personally, I love Jesus, my wife, and music. As I'm sure you can tell by my brief history, I do a lot of church service and ministry, if for this for any reason makes you wary, let me assure you: I play a lot more than just church music. As a lover of music, there is not much that I don't enjoy in the world of music, and I've taught most of it. I've taught the young and the not-so-young, and whether you're just beginning to read music, or you're just eager to learn your favorite song, I work closely with you to ensure you achieve the results you desire!
*** Lesson Details *** Four things I focus on: 1. Creating individualized lesson plans for you 2. Teaching you new techniques and polishing old ones 3. Building your confidence 4. Both of us having a fun, rockin' time!
When taking lessons from me, students can expect an environment that is a balance between being strict and laid back.Music is something that must be learned, and as such, it must also be practiced week-to-week in between lessons. I consider myself strict because I'll hold you accountable to doing your best to learn the best. Despite holding you accountable, I think the overall mood of the learning environment is laid back; we'll have a lot of fun learning music. I make sure that we'll be learning at your pace, but keep in mind, this doesn't mean I won't push you to be your best! My teaching experience has taught me one thing: everyone is different. That being the case, I create lesson plans that are unique to you. Where you will be in a month, six months, a year, largely depends on your commitment to learn, but I'll promise you this: all of my efforts will be utilized to maximize your potentiality.
*** Attendance Policy *** I am very flexible with attendance, but I do require a one hour notice that you will not be at the lesson. If a one hour notice is not given, the lesson will be marked as "missed" resulting in payment from your TakeLessons account for the missed lesson.
If you are simply running late, please be sure to let me know-I try to be as flexible as possible, but if the student is over 15 minutes late, I typically mark this lesson as "missed" as well.
*** Studio Equipment *** I provide the following equipment for in-studio lessons: Guitar amplifier Bass amplifier Drum Set Computer iPad Recording equipment Music stand Seating area for parents/guardians to sit/listen in on the lesson
*** Travel Equipment *** When offering in-home lessons, I provide the following when traveling for in-home lessons: iPad For in-home lessons, I expect students to have whatever equipment is necessary for learning their instrument of interest (This typically includes at least the student's instrument and a music stand, but may also include a metronome, tuner, etc.).
*** Specialties *** Rock, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Praise/Worship, Indie

We've only had 2 lessons so far and he is great! He is encouraging, polite, flexible, kind and takes the extra time if needed. He definitely knows how to teach and knows the natural developmental progression to build the foundation for a beginner and explains what the next goals she'll be working towards. He even learned a Justin Bieber song just to make my kid happy. Lol!
Get ready to overcome roadblocks that prevent you or your child from following classroom discussions and learning along with the class. The math skills learned early in a child’s schooling serve as the foundation for more complex math in high school and beyond. I'll make sure you don't miss a thing and that you discover the joy of connecting the dots, playing with numbers, and seeing how it applies in the real world.
VOCAL COACH Rehabilitating and strengthening voices are two of my top specialties, and each lesson will have specific exercises tailored to helping you transform your voice into the highest and best version of your instrument. I work with singers signed to labels as well as the indie artist just starting to find his/her voice, style, and signature sound. My coaching approach incorporates some of the newest technologies that have shown extraordinary results in breaking down the inner blocks of each artist. It is a tremendously joyful and fulfilling experience to watch as my students really let their instrument shine brightly, boldly, and with an aboslutely stunning groundedness as they discover how powerful they truly are.
Poised, energized, and armed with unforgettable performance ability, Michelle G
. is a firework in the artistic arena. Her training began at the young age of 3 with the violin, and a few years later received classes for piano and voice. Excelling in all three, Michelle developed a very passionate and dramatic personality that eventually led her to more dramatic genres such as opera and stage acting. Her aptitude to understand human emotions and relationships gives her a wide spectrum to play in as an actress. There is an organic flow to her interpretations both as an actress and musician that leads the audience to feel her emotional current. Her honest characterizations introduce deeper perspectives on what seems like the ordinary roles and storylines. Amongst the many other leads that she has played, her participation in roles like “Susanna” in The Marriage of Figaro, or “Donna Elvira” in Don Giovanni embody much vibrancy and integrity. Through the development of her voice as a singer and actress, she has crossed over into other media such as voice over commercial work and vocals for pop/main stream music productions. She has recently participated as a vocalist and violinist in the albums of artists such as international jazz pop artist David Longoria, Latin pop singer Erick Bolivar, Grammy-nominated percussionist Souhail Kaspar, and American Idol’s Seysha. Over the last few years she has unraveled her musical skills as a songwriter/composer/arranger and has even had some small victories acquiring music placements on TV shows (NCIS, short film “Sumtin’ Like Dat”, The Dictator) for herself and some of her colleagues. Her singing can also be heard on the hit tv show "Jane The Virgin", "Castle" and "Shameless" amongst others.
Education Michelle completed her Associates of Arts for Music/Music Education at the age of 18, and got later graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's of Arts for Musical Theater and Music Business, as well as from Florida International University with a Master's of Music in Vocal Performance.
*** Lesson Details *** I tailor my lessons to my student's needs, style, abilities, and goals. Learning is truly a fun and passionate adventure for me, and my enthusiasm has consistently been a contagious quality :) I love to challenge myself & my students to discover how immense their true potential is, and I create a safe and fun environment to explore such facets.
My curriculum is combination of solid tradition (Suzuki method for piano & violin, and Bel Canto technique for singing) interwoven with pop-culture, and modern influences. Within the first 3-6 months, my students will know the basic building blocks of music - which includes scales, arpeggios, triads, intervals, technique, and performance repertoire; and for my singers this will include proper breath technique, tone placement, support, very often increased vocal range (both high and low), and will feel significantly stronger vocally and more confident getting up to sing.
*** Studio Equipment *** Full size Keyboard, mics, pro tools, Violin (electric, acoustic, and Chinese Ehru)
It's been a great experience to have lessons online. Although it lasted 45 minutes, I have seen that these types of lessons are very useful and practical. Thank you for providing these lessons!

Michelle is so patient and kind. She gives me help with my accent and the way I pronounce the words so that I sound more like a native speaker. I love her. She is so much fun. I'd recommend her to anybody.

Michelle is awesome!!! She is so sweet and a very good and encouraging instructor. She inspires me to be a better teacher. She helped me with where I was weak and gave me homework. I will definitely be working with her for EVERYTHING that I want to learn.
I have been teaching math for several years now and understand the need for a good foundation. I work with students to find any concepts they have missed or do not fully understand. My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!
I have extensively studied vocal performance for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, where I extensively studied the anatomy of the voice. I am the founder of BAWS Studio where we train artists in all aspects of performance (singing, songwriting, recording, piano, and guitar). I previously worked for a recording studio (Sound Summit Studios in Naperville IL) where I teach voice and help singers record their music in the studio. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the World.
I have a bachelors
degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectations that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.
*** Lesson Details *** Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music
*** Specialties *** I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.
Phenomenal. Gets to the point, is great at demonstrating, and provides feedback you can work off of.

So far, lessons with Ben have been VERY good (and productive! I'm naturally a reserved person, but He has gotten me to push beyond my comfort zone (that is "be louder"), which in retrospect has also helped me build my confidence in other areas. So at this point I look forward to having lessons, because I am growing in my understanding of how to use this God-given gift; a gift that's meant to be shared (not hidden away in silence).
I will guide you at your own pace to learn this math course that is fairly applicable in everyday life. Whether it is for fun or supplemental work for your education, math will be a breeze after working with me.
I am an eclectic pianist-singer with dual Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance and Jazz Studies from Shenandoah Conservatory. My skills are diverse and I enjoy using them as I teach at any level. Other than teaching, I compete in voice and piano competitions, perform as a soloist and accompanist, arrange, and compose. I also play in a funk band called Souled Out, stationed in Winchester, VA. My passion is in classical and jazz music, as well as musical theatre, but I teach all contemporary styles.
I have been tutoring math for about 6 years. I have a specific teaching style with an emphasis on breaking down concepts into simple terms that could be easily absorbed and remembered to ensure that the objective of the lesson is understood. I love answering questions and helping people to understand concepts. I believe many people have a fear of math and my goal is to break down that wall of fear. I currently work in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry; therefore, I rely on my math skills on a daily basis. I want my students to reach their full potential while having a great time learning!
I have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Architecture. I am a Professional Engineer and soon to be Architect. Working in the construction industry requires me to work with different maths and physics principles on a daily basis. If the Student is serious about learning math and physics, I am dedicated to helping along the way. Some of the math subjects that I have experience tutoring include: Basic Math, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and some Calculus. Some of the physics subjects that I have experience tutoring include: Fundamental Concepts, Mechanics, Kinematics, Thermodynamics, and Electricity. The goal is to make the concepts as easy as possible to understand. I do not quit until my Student has fully understood the concepts and feel confident in their own abilities to solve problems. All that I ask i
s that my Student comes ready to learn and not to give up.
I have mentored over 50 students in 20+ different subjects. I have experience with grades 4th to 12th, undergraduates, graduate students, and industry professionals.
I guarantee improvement in your understanding of the material starting from our first lesson together. I am committed to my students' success!
My name is Gerardo M. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. I am a STEM-focused tutor that specializes in teaching all levels of math (AP included), science, academic test prep, and college level classes. One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is my ability to communicate with my students. I identify areas that need improvement and figure out where the fundamental disconnect between the material and my student's understanding of it exists. In addition to tutoring, I have 7 years of experience in technology startups in the semiconductors and consumer electronics industries.
My philosophy is to teach my students to learn by intuition and logic rather than memorization. I emphasize teaching the fundamentals to build up a strong foundation of understanding. I believe this approach produces superior l
ong-term learning and enables my students to continue succeeding later in life.
Gerardo definitely knows a lot about Microsoft Excel. He taught me how to use pivot tables, create histograms, produce graphs of data, and he also helped me learn a few keyboard short-cuts to do my work more efficiently. Gerardo is a patient and effective tutor and I highly recommend him!

Gerardo helped me out in Calculus because I was truly struggling. I had a tough professor and I had not taken a math course in a couple of years. He did a great job at tutoring me through webcam and he was really patient with me. I would definitely recommend!

Gerardo helped me prepare for my AP Calculus AB test. I had trouble understanding certain concepts such as related rates and using integration to find volumes. He explained problems very clearly by going step-by-step, and making sure I understood the process every step of the way. I highly recommend Gerardo if you are looking for a math tutor.
When your child needs a little extra help with math, but doesn't seem interested in flashcards, worksheets, or other methods of learning, you need to be a little creative. If he or she enjoys sports, why not take the opportunity to introduce some math practice games while watching or playing the sport?
Any sport can be turned into a math practice game - you just need to find a way to sneak it in without letting your child know you're trying to promote some math time. Below are some ideas to get …
