About Judith
Hello! My name is Judith, and with a background of more than 25 years of performance, teaching, and directing experience I'm sure that I can help you meet your goals - Whether it's to become an accomplished soloist, to sing more accurately in your church choir, or just to knock their socks off at karaoke, we'll have a great time getting you where you want to be!

Following is a bit more about me - it's a little "formal" ... but it will give you a few additional details about my background that you might find helpful in deciding whether or not I'm the teacher or coach for you! Happy reading!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With more than twenty-five years of performance experience, Judith is at home with a repertoire ranging from medieval song to Baroque opera and oratorio to American musical theater. Her performances have take
n her across North America and the UK, appearing as featured soloist with a number of leading period and modern ensembles and orchestras and as presenter, guest artist and faculty at a variety of international workshops and festivals.
Not only a performer, Judith is also an educator, with extensive experience in private teaching as well as in directing and coaching of both large and small vocal ensembles in a variety of styles and genres - from Early Music to barbershop to Broadway - and has served as Director of Music for a number of churches and various performing organizations.
Judith holds both Masters and Doctoral degrees in Early Music Performance Practices from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from The College of Charleston, SC, with additional post-graduate work at the University of Texas at Austin and the Indiana University Institute of Early Music where she studied performance practices, music history, opera and theater. Judith is ever-active as guest faculty and lecturer for workshops, special events, and continuing and community education forums.
Noted for being "even stronger when she is allowed to act as well as sing" (Cleveland Plain Dealer), Judith is equally active in the theater, taking leading roles not only in Musical Theater but also a variety of dramatic and comedic productions, and has received both repeated critical acclaim and regional acting awards for her performances.
Judith is also an accomplished instrumentalist, making appearances at a number of events and with a variety of early music ensembles across North America. She has been performing on Shawm, recorders and hand drums for more than twenty years.
About William
I am math teacher, father and grandfather. I start tutoring when I was in high school and then graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics in the late seventies. Later I earned a master's degree in engineering. I have taught for decades and I also had the opportunity to work as an engineer and programmer over the course of two decades. I now teach part time at colleges and tutor part time.
I teach grade school through college and the approach I use has been very helpful for students who have had trouble in math. I have students write the steps with words instead of just working examples.
A student recently wrote:
Mr. Diss took my hardest subject and broke it down so it was easier to understand. He shows clear examples of how to the problems and if I didn’t understand something he was quick to respond to my emails. I hones
tly have to say that this is the first time in my life I felt like I could truly understand math and not just hope to scrape by.
About Natalie
I've been teaching Mandarin for years, and my students consistently come back and tell me how uniquely I prepared them for their further studies! I am fluent in Mandarin, but I have a background in both English Literature analytics as well as Business Marketing. I've used my Chinese all around the world, from SanFran to Italy to Oxford to (of course) Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, etc.
What does this mean for you? It means that you'll have someone who has an extremely thorough understanding of BOTH languages build off what you already know (complete with personalized analogies, appropriate stories to help you remember, and specific tonal and pronunciation pointers).
I also just love the Chinese and their culture. I'm really spunky but dedicated, and I have an amazing work ethic. I'm so excited to learn with you!
