It is my grasp of foreign languages that makes me an effective English teacher. For instance, learning the complex grammar of Latin and Greek gave me a thorough understanding of English grammar and the ability to relate to other people’s native languages. I have spent many hours proofreading papers for international students. They find my instruction especially informative because I not only fix mistakes but provide an explanation. When I point out the patterns of grammar, similar mistakes show up less and less, and my students feel more confident that they are writing sentences correctly.

I learned English teaching methods through my tutoring experience. Over a span of four months, I gave a Turkish visiting scholar a systematic overview of English grammar and allowed him to apply it through conversation.

Interested in improving in math? Want to ace your future classes? I will assist in building up the fundamental of math skills. During my senior year at high school, I used to tutor students ranging from elementary school to high school mathematics at a Mathnasium facility. I have also worked with students that range from visual learners to hands-on students to those who need repetitive practice of the same concept or even more time with the material. This experience allowed me to understand different students and approach their unique ways of learning. I believe it is more rewarding for the student if I spend more time than given in a class period to address one topic if there are potential concerns or misunderstanding of certain topics.

About Joshua

Heading into my junior year, I am currently an undergraduate student at Rutgers University pursuing a major in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. I have tutored as math instructor at a local Mathnasium facility throughout the summers, during my senior year of high school, and whenev

Joshua was very kind and patient with my son (sophomore) while tutoring in math (Algebra 2). They worked together for the better part of a school year. It was nice to have a younger tutor that "clicked" with my son. He was also very accommodating with schedule conflicts and changes.

Without Joshua, I do not know how we would of made it through Algebra 2 doing virtual school. We hope that we will be able to use him again next school year.

High school math can be confusing if you don't understand everything before you leave class. Dr Dawn made a pretty quick impact on my sons understanding of geometry, understanding when to use the right methods and talking through word problems to make sure he knew what to solve. Definitely recommend!

It was surprisingly not so difficult because she is great at troubleshooting and figuring out solutions to get you where you need to be. She will even invent new exercises and do whatever it takes to get you to be the best you. I am always excited to work with Fawn, she keeps me in check and keeps me moving forward."
