I've been working as a tutor for 10+ years, specializing in math and science subjects at the high school and college level, as well as standardized test prep. I understand that every student has a different learning style, and will have different goals for our work together, so I develop a tailored plan during the initial meeting. My style of teaching is based on scaffolding my students, providing information when necessary while also encouraging them to take ownership of their part in our work together.

I've helped students with the ACT for a number of years. There is a mindset to learning the "tricks" of this standardized test. I want students to recognize the patterns to the test questions so that they can know exactly how to answer them.

I scored 34 on the SAT after self-studying and learning the strategies of the test on my own. Because of this, I have a very detailed understanding of the critical thinking skills required to do well on this important test. I am equipped to create a detailed study plan for those wishing to score in the 99th percentile, but I can also cater to those who want to simply increase their score.

I have tutored for more than 300 families in the Greater Atlanta area and overseas. My students generally see substantial improvement in their scores. Preparation works in a big way! I isolate the problem areas, and my students and I spend time working on the tough ones. We also - just as crucially - spend time making certain that we are acquiring as many points as we can on the easy and medium difficulty problems for the student. We engage in 1) developing test-taking strategies, 2) learning the level of difficulty of the test, 3) review all content and concepts, and 4) practice, practice, practice!

A little about myself. I was enrolled in a top mathematical high school and won multiple mathematical olympiads starting at a young age. I graduated from university with honors and the highest departmental distinction. While at the university I served as a teaching assistant and tutored other students.
