Boleslavsky and Strasburg techniques combined with British Classical School. -as the result of my own training. We begin with training of the body for the ability to be relaxed and ready for anything, working in a chair in the Lee Strasburg system, releasing tensions and assessing the difference and working week by week on the sense memory exercises to build up the strength of imagination and elemental response and creativity. We also work with theatre games as well as analytical techniques.
I've completed two graduate degrees: one in Music and the other in Dance and Theater studies.
My undergrad degree is from The Juilliard School and it is in Dance.
I've taught children and grown ups for many years. I have a strong performing career and love the way teaching keeps me in a giving and learning place.
*** Lesson Details ***
With beginning students I am very laid back and patient and believe strongly that in the play of games and experiments technique will develop and manifest. As the student becomes more advanced I become more demanding as do the materials.
As an Acting teacher I have the capacity to take students along all the way to professional and beyond. I'm a membe
For Dance, I have a wide knowledge and can teach several forms as well as history and materials. In Juilliard I specialized in historical dance of the French Court which is also known as pre-ballet. At present I am studying Tango and other ballroom forms and can teach the beginning levels as well as help choreograph for weddings or events. Of course I also teach Ballet and many forms of Modern Dance. I adore teaching dance composition. To help a dance student make their own dances is very fulfilling.
For the Visual Arts I teach Abstract Painting as well as Installation and Performance Art.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I have supplies and space. Visual Art students need to contribute to materials by finding or purchasing whatever they like and adding to the mix. My students are welcome to use what I have here and I am always adding materials. Many people throw away materials that are perfectly good for art making so keep your eyes open and you'll find all kinds of good things. Visual Art students need to book a 2 hour minimum and I will lower the price if you just let me know you need it.
My fees: I start at a higher fee and after you've been a regular student we can lower the fee for you if you need.
*** Travel Equipment ***

*** Specialties ***
In dance I teach classical ballet principles for beginners or those who are returning and want to work carefully and privately. I teach from the tradition of Alfredo Corvino's principles of relationship to organic forms and structures for sound development. I studied with Mr Corvino for years and continue to study with Ernesta Corvino.
For acting I teach a combination of classical acting technique with American sense memory and relaxation skills. I am well versed in the teachings of Lee Strasberg and then spent time in London to 'fill in the cracks' of my training with analytical skills as well as the various european influences that the Royal National embrace.
I teach creative discovery in combination with classical devices so the student can discover their own artistry while learning actual classical devices for accomplishing specific goals.

P.S. She is a great Dancer and a great Musician.
For 5 years I have taught audition seminars and done private coaching. The growth and success of my students professionally and personally is the most important thing to me.
Have an upcoming audition? Need to prepare for a class? Whatever your needs, we will work on material (sides/monologues), attire, head shot/resume, attitude, and confidence. I love to teach and I do so with encouragement and compassion. I believe that is most effective way to teach and grow!
Meeting new actors is a major part of my job. I also LOVE to teach! The success and growth of my students is extremely important to me. Acting is an exploration of the 'human condition' through art and an extension of ones self by way of personal discovery.
Whether looking to strengthen your auditioning or acting skills, together we will create a plan that best suits your needs and talents. Having been an actor myself I understand how discouraging this business can be. If you can access the other side of it as a
Students should be expected to be pushed passed their limits, to feel so uncomftorable it becomes natural. Acting is all about showing private moments in public, so be ready to do things you didnt even think acting involved. It is a sport so be prepared to work-out! physically, Vocally, and Emotionally.

I tailor each lesson to the actor. I create a safe space to play and learn. I empower and uplift each student so they approach the work with excitement instead of fear. Together, we create realistic goals for the actor's career. We may work on auditions, self tapes, scenes, anything and everything the actor is struggling with.
I help each student analyze the script so they can make strong choices that are unique to their acting talents.
I am currently the creator, writer, lead actress & executive producer of my own comedic web series (to air mid-2018).
I have been trained by exceptional teachers in the following: Linklater (voice), Williamson (movement), film/tv & theater, script analysis, theater & film history, cold reading, monologue, stand-up comedy, etc. I have also been mentored by the legendary standup comedian Rick Crom.
I can also work with the actor, writer or comedian on the business aspect of their career: how can I
I believe training is so important so congrats on taking the first step towards a successful, exciting career! I can't wait to share my passions with you!
I have a self tape set-up with a backdrop, professional lighting & tripod. I am happy to be your reader & coach as we film your audition, scene or stand up set. We can use this as a tool to improve or film a self tape audition. We can also chose your best take together.

Walking into an audition room can be intimidating-- but it doesn't have to be! I have learned to love auditioning for stage and screen by uncovering discoveries in the text, embracing spontaneity in the room, and giving myself permission to breathe (it's a lot of breathing). I can't wait to help you find the same tools and help you gain the confidence to kill it every time. Auditioning is really just another chance to perform, after all!
Like many of my students, I grew up in a small town (mine was in Idaho) before the acting bug bit. I learned to love auditioning early, earning acceptance into Interlochen Arts Academy, the top high school performing arts boarding school in the country at age 15. After thriving there, I was accepted into a handful of top college theatre programs, ultimately choosing to study at Fordham University in New York City, where I graduated summa cum laude. S

Acting is about understanding the human experience and sharing it with your audience. My aim with students is to help find the freedom of expression by making specific and bold choices. Having studied classically as a dancer and as an actor at New York University, I have a passion for teaching Shakespeare. I also love coaching monologues and scenes for auditions.
With over 20 years of experience in acting and production, I understand the delicate balance of the business and creative sides of this industry. I'm dedicated to teaching actors about the hard work, dedication, depth needed to excel in this field. By developing range, listening skills, technique , and stamina to sustain themselves for auditions and performances in TV, Theatre, and Film. I also lessons on the business of Acting and how to handle that part of the industry as well.
9 months. From there, I booked several national commercials and worked as a child actor for several years. As an adult, I've worked in every facet of entertainment. For the last 10 years, Theatre has been my focus. I've been a repertory company member at Afrikan Women's Repertory and lead in "Uncle Tom Vs. Uncle Sam"'s run at Symphony Space Theatre. I've also coached/managed the careers of my own children who are SAG/AFTRA and worked on over 50 projects over the last several years. I love to teach acting especially to beginners looking to discover the beauty of this art.

Jake has worked with me on and off over the past 3 years and has been an absolute blessing. I have come to him when bigger opportunities have opened for me and he's kept me grounded in the work so I feel confident and prepared walking into the room. I've booked two guest star rolls since working with him, one on ABC, the other CBS and have seen a steady increase in callbacks the more often we work together. Couldn't recommend enough."

Stars like Meryl Streep and Al Pacino make it look easy, but if you want to become a professional actor, don't expect to rely on talent alone. Even if you're a natural performer who can cry on command and memorize lines, you'll need to learn the following fundamental drama techniques to really master the art of acting. 1. Vocal Dynamics Your lines are just words until you deliver them, but unless your voice is well-trained, they'll still fall flat or sound forced. In order to accurately port … Read More
