A chemistry lesson with me is unique because through my experiences as a chemistry teacher and tutor, I know which concepts will be challenging for students and will typically cause students to give up. I anticipate these obstacles and have developed techniques to help students approach them with confidence. I do this primarily through layered practices and low-stakes self-assessments. My goal is to help students to not only be able to reach a problem's solution in my presence, but also find the same ease when studying on their own and during quizzes and exams.

About Alexandra

Hello! My name is Alexandra. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with Master's degree in Chemistry and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Psychology. I have also completed all of the courses to satisfy the secondary education minor requirements (excluding student teaching). Currently I am pursuing a PhD

Education is to make a person independent, if you are still dependent then you are not educated

About Ashwini

Hindi being a National Language Of India. Most of the parents in the USA are willing to make their children Hindi literate along with communication. I take the privilege to help them to reach their goal. As Hindi is a foreign language, it will certainly help high schoolers to raise their credits.

Excellent and engaging. Had fun.

Ashwini assumed that I was married upon meeting her, and asked me when I was getting married as soon as she learned I wasn't married. She also asked where I was getting married, even though at the time I wasn't engaged. Even when I made it apparent I wasn't engaged, she continued to refer to my boyfriend as my fiance.

She would send me political things going on in India, even though I have no interest, and it has nothing to do with the lessons I was taking from her. She asked me if my boyfriend was voting, and many personal things that shouldn't be asked of a student learning Hindi.

She often moved my scheduled time around without asking, which meant that I needed to move my schedule around in order to attend her sessions.

As a teacher she was pretty good, but some things disappointed me there too. For instance, I made a sentence in which a jeweler was a woman, and she stated that can't be correct, because there are no woman jewelers. I'm a woman engineer, and it's really sad to see such a sexist thing. Even when I attempted to ask about how you would say something about a woman jeweler, she said it was impossible. Later she said nurses could only be woman.

Roya is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. I have taken two classes thus far and look forward to continuing to learn from her. She is supportive and encouraging and really wants to help me tap into finding my true artist.
Darya
Roya is Amazing!!!! The first time I went to Roya, she asked me what exactly I wanted to learn, and really tailored my lessons to encompass all my interests and things that were important to me. She is patient, sweet, and THE BEST teacher I have ever had (that's a lot coming from an art major).

I have changed many private teachers in the last few years, and ever since I found Roya, I couldn't imagine having anyone else teach me. She is truly a golden treasure.

I have seen her teach to people of all levels, and she has been incredible with every single one of them. No matter your level, she will teach you what you want to learn.

I took lessons with Rahny last year. She helped me to refine my essay writing skills. I had never written an essay before. I’d never had a portfolio before either, but it has come in handy in more ways than I ever could’ve imagined. I’ve referenced the materials on vocabulary, pronunciation and essay writing exercises a dozen times. She still takes the time to answer some of my questions.

Thanks for all your patience even though I was running late. I was all ready to cancel my lesson, but you encouraged me to keep my goals in mind and keep moving forward. I loved that you adjusted the material accordingly and worked through the homework together with me. I look forward to our next session. :)
Natasha
Rahny is very interesting in her approach. It is great how she goes about sharing ideas, extending the discussion and engaging with me and the content. She brings so much liveliness to the class. The texts are very good, practical and related directly to my goals of wanting better communication with my colleagues.

As a child I was obsessed with writing, and excelled in this area. Starting from 1st grade, I was writing at least 5 fiction stories at a time. During middle school, I became home-schooled, which allowed me to delve into improving my writing skills. I tutored my younger siblings in writing. When I took a writing class at community college, I tutored my classmates. Writing is a tricky process, but you can expect patience and clarity with me!

About Lindan

"Bill is really pretty terrific. After going over the basics of first being understood in the public domain (voice and enunciation practices) we are now beginning, at my request, more commercial uses of speech. I have been in theater and done a few voice overs but just did the work with no training, and with the knowledge I could do better. Now I really feel like I am learning much from Bill about a subject area I always wanted more information about. I feel confident with Bill's specific and professional advice, practice and teaching materials (in this case, ad copy and homework).
Bill is also friendly and his teaching is not intimidating or stern. I enjoy his classes and remember his situations. I would highly recommend Bill as a teacher! Try taking one of his classes!"
