I am a rising Dartmouth College freshman and graduate of Mount Saint Mary Academy. I scored a 2390 (800 - Writing, Critical Reading - 800, Math - 790) on the SAT. I have always excelled at standardized testing and would truly enjoy sharing my skills. I have experience in both childcare and tutoring and love helping others to succeed and overcome test-taking challenges.
I've been teaching SAT preparation for 10 years and my students have increased their SAT scores over 500 points from their initial scores.
I create a personalized daily syllabus that caters to each student's individual strengths and weakness, and check in with my students daily to make sure that they are completing their homework assignments and have no questions.
My program is rigorous and demanding, but leads to significantly higher scores very quickly. I do not give my students a chance to slack off or to stop doing their homework assignments because students are required to enter when they have completed their homework assignments, their scores, and their vocabulary words daily through a virtual tracking system that I have created.
I provide a book list including Collegeboard and Kaplan books, though can work with whatever books students already have. I incorporate technology to keep students engaged.
I can't wait to begin!

Laura is a fantastic singer and actor. She has an incredible ear as well as great knowledge and experience of what makes a singing performance pop. All this makes her an outstanding coach.
Even now after graduation, I am still training with her. Our focus now is on continuing the development of my singing voice. My goal is to reach a level where I have the skill and confidence to audition professionally for musicals, and I know I am in great hands.

I have helped dozens of students over the last five years improve their SAT scores dramatically. There are clear types of questions the math section of the SAT repeatedly asks. The first step to mastering the test is to know how to do each type, the next and most often neglected step is to know how to do each type with ease and the last step is to be able to quickly recognize each type and apply the techniques necessary for solving them. My method for achieving this is to explain the concepts multiple ways to find the one that makes most sense to the student. Then I have students repeatedly do each type until they become commonplace. Last, I have them do as many practice tests as possible so they learn to apply the concepts utilizing time management. By repeating each question type rather than doing one and moving one I ensure that the concept sticks in the student's mind. By repeatedly taking practice tests students earn the confidence they need on testing day to perform their best.
I tutor because I love the challenge of helping people understand new ideas and enjoy making it fun for them. I also like the flexibility that it gives me to pursue my other interests including filmmaking and surfing.
Some of the other subjects I tutor are: SHSAT/TOEFL/GED, Statistics, research paper writing, Geometry, college essay writing, Algebra I & II, English, probability, study skills and have helped students with a wide range of learning disabilities.

Christopher came here to teach me pivot tables which I needed to know for work. I had no knowledge of what they were or did and when he left I had an understanding which I did not think I could achieve in such a short time. The patience he showed was wonderful as I was nervous and he put me at ease which is not an easy task! He also had to figure out what I need to do (in Excel)when I do not completely understand it myself but by the time he left, he understood and I am confident that I can succeed now and it is all because of Christopher!

The secret to standardized tests is not how much you know, but how well you can take the test. With me, students prepping for standardized tests will learn test-taking strategies that maximize efficiency and reduce the amount of extra time spent on each part.
My beginning to advanced level students would learn how to advance their technique using practice techniques to increase productivity and efficiency through the study of scales, arpeggios, etudes, and solo repertoire. I would also emphasize posture and breathing as well as teach reed making and adjusting.
In addition to bassoon, I teach math, science, history, French, English/writing, and
