Bring your homework and whatever you're having trouble with and well fix it.

About Jeff
Like many of my friends in high school not knowing what direction to take in life, I chose to take a business career path instead of one of a starving artist. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State Fullerton, a Masters from UC Irvine, and have had much success working for several Fortune 500 companies. However, my love of music always surfaces. And now that I have the resources and ability to spend more time having fun and enjoying life, I choose to spend some of this time teaching and helping students find a love for music.

Music has always been an important part of my life. I've had piano lessons since 6 yrs of age and been the lead tenor in many show choir and vocal performing groups. Since 2005, I've been learning the guitar from many local Las Vegas artists ranging from lounge bands at Caesars Palace to orchestra players for t
he Cirque du Soleil.

*** Lesson Details ***
As a kid, I enjoyed playing piano but I felt that my piano lessons were more of a chore than a hobby, a routine of playing songs I did not particularly like. I make lessons fun by having my students choose the music/genre that they want to play. When they learn songs that they like, students are more engaged and interested. And because they are enjoying themselves, they develop their musical talents more quickly.

My lessons are fun but also challenging. I take you out of your comfort zone by recording lessons from time to time so that you’ll know what you sound like. I feel that the best music comes out when you play from the heart. I teach fundamentals and theory, but I encourage creativity. Each artist is unique and my job is to bring out that individual music style and give you a foundation to grow on.

From a business perspective, I’m organized, punctual, friendly, informative and easy to learn from.

Try me!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have contacts who can provide a full range of recording equipment and provide coaching assistance while recording in the studio. Your end product will be of higher quality for a lower price. We're professionals!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a guitar but would expect the student to have one or get one. I'll loan you one until you get one and I can provide some tips on where to shop.

*** Specialties ***
I enjoy R&B and jazz but can teach any style

ACADEMICS
I started out on take lessons as a music instructor, but I also teach a wide variety of academics. I do have an MBA so I can coach you well and help you ace those exams. Like my music lessons, practice makes perfect. So you'll need to study and "earn" those A+ grades.

I have been a classroom teacher for 11 years. I got my degree in elementary education. I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. I'm best with younger grades. I can help with homework or plan a lesson over any concept you are having trouble with. I like to make learning fun. I have taught math, science, language arts, and social studies.

About Kevin
I truly enjoy teaching. I've taught in the public school classroom for 11 years. Teaching music is so so much FUN! And it should be fun for the students to learn. When I'm teaching I tell all my students that if they don't enjoy and smile about something, then we need to change something.

I would love to start lessons with you soon.

I have always been fascinated with mathematics and all of it's related branches. As a chemical engineer major with over four years of tutoring, I have both the expertise and experience to teach anyone mathematics in a fun and interactive learning environment. I can explain complex concepts using easy-to-understand terms and relevant examples. My goal is to connect students with foundational knowledge and problem solving methods so that they can tackle any math problem by themselves. I believe that having a strong core in mathematics will not only increase a student's grades but will also boost their confidence, motivation, and interest in the subject as well.

About Ariel
Hey! I'm an experienced mathematics and physics tutor with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from UCSD. I have been tutoring privately for seven years and offer high quality sessions tailored to each individual. I'm dedicated to making sure each concept is thoroughly understood through emphasizing fundamentals and explaining solutions in a step-by-step fashion. I easily connect with students and I strive to instill in them everything they need to stay motivated and reach their full potential.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Education & Credentials ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I graduated with a degree from UCLA with high honors (Dean's Honors List, Magna Cum Laude) in Integrative Biology & Physiology. I also took many classes at UCLA in education, linguistics, history, and English. I had a cumulative GPA of 3.838 with 265.5 completed units at graduation and was a 10-time Dean's Honors List Recipient. I also was a member of the UCLA Regents Scholar Society, the Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Societies, the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society, and Christian Students at UCLA. I worked as a TA for several undergraduate classes at UCLA, including Education 92F and Life Sciences 2-3. I also have gone through rigorous UCLA and Stanford University graduate-level coursework in science, math, educational strategies, and curriculum & instruction.
I have scored at the 98th percentile on the SAT I/II tests and received the highest score of 5 on multiple AP exams (see below for more details) as a high school student, achieving the AP Scholar with Distinction award by the end of my junior year. I have been the recipient of over $350,000 worth of many university merit-based invitational and scholarship honors and awards. Some of the most notable scholarships I have been awarded are the Regents Scholarship from both UCLA and UCSB. Both provided me with a large monetary award (full-ride), priority enrollment, 4 years of room and board, and many other privileges, honors, and incentives.
The SAT examinations that I have scored at 98th percentile or higher are as follows: SAT I; SAT II - Math 2; and SAT II - Biology (M). I also took many AP exams during high school, achieving the AP Scholar with Distinction award by the end of my junior year. Some of the exams that I have taken include: AP Physics B (Score = 5); AP Chemistry (Score = 5); AP Biology (Score = 5); AP Calculus AB (Score = 5); AP Statistics (Score = 5); AP US Government & Politics (Score = 5). I continuously study and retake the SAT, ACT, and AP Exams to stay on par with both the big and small changes each year to the exams.
~~~~~~~~~~~ My Personal Message to You ~~~~~~~~~~~

One of the wisest teachers once said that poor grades, study habits, and test scores are not life-threatening, but they are college-, job- , career-, and quality-of-life threatening. The most competitive students take a pro-active approaching to academics and tutoring while the least competitive take a reactive approach. All you need to do is watching the documentary 'Two Million Minutes' by Bob Compton to realize why students in other countries such as India and China surpass American peers in almost every subject, especially language (writing, grammar, etc.), math, science, and engineering-related subjects. They attend extra classes and tutoring from 6-7 AM in the morning to almost midnight.

In today's fast-paced and competitive job market, there is simply too much to lose by not investing now in your child's or your education. If a student is struggling, it makes sense to get him/her the help needed so that the time spent in school is worthwhile. Great grades and test scores can open doors that may have been previously closed and are also significant factors when determining scholarships, so investing time and effort now can pay off substantially in the future. Finally, let's not forget the most important part in all of this: the student. The confidence, knowledge, and skills that a student gains through effective tutoring can last a lifetime.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch. Every day spent waiting is another class or lecture's worth of material that you might potentially fall behind or another low quiz/test/exam score that will only make it harder to recover from. I have had too many students who could have received the grade(s) they wanted had they contacted me from the beginning.

Math doesn't need to be hard, you can understand it and even have fun with it! Math is my favorite subject and one that I have been tutoring for several years. While I aim for comprehension over scores, grades typically improve with comprehension. In each tutoring session, you can choose to receive homework help, test preparation, or extra practice that I can supply.

I have a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences and have taught students in both a classroom and tutoring setting. When I tutor math, I like to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of my students, and find the approach that engages and benefits them the most. I do my best to explain things as clearly as possible using a method that clicks with them, and patiently and thoroughly work out problems step by step until they can complete them on their own. I am flexible in my approach to teaching so I can satisfy the needs of my students, and I often spend a little time above the hour to make sure we end on a satisfying note. I care about my students and wish to help them not only achieve their academic goals, but help them build fundamental critical thinking skills.

About Craig
Hi my name is Craig and I love math. I graduated with honors from the University of California Santa Barbara, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences. Education is important to me as I feel it is the foundation for a successful life. I like to volunteer for my community, so teaching greatly appeals to me because it is rewarding and satisfying to see students progress through a difficult class or problem and be happy with their results. I love critical thinking, problem solving and how we apply it to real life situations. When I tutor math, I like to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of my students, and find the approach that engages and benefits them the most. I do my best to explain things as clearly as possible using a method that clicks with them, and patiently and thoroughly work out problems step
by step until they can complete them on their own.

I have experience working with college students with special needs, and high school students. During these sessions I would work with individual and small groups of students for hours at a time explaining and working out problems. The main subjects I teach are Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I am flexible in my approach to teaching so I can satisfy the needs of my students, and I often spend a little time above the hour to make sure we end on a satisfying note. In addition, I was a Co-leader for a transfer student college course where I led my own individual section and organized and conducted a group lecture for over 200 students. In this setting I worked on creating a fun and intriguing learning environment to help transfer students get acclimated.

I care about my students and I wish to help them achieve their academic goals. My schedule is flexible, I respond quickly, and I provide regular updates to parents on how students are progressing. You can contact me at anytime with suggestions or to schedule an appointment.

Hello to all math lovers. Im very good at working with students and adapting to their learning style to make the learning process move smoothly and effectively while still keeping the students interest in the subject. I have a lot of passion for math and I like to think it rubs off on my students. I have a bachaleors degree in Civil Engineering from University of Houston and have mastered math courses such as calculus 1, 2, and 3. Partial differential Equations, Linear algebra, as well as statistics, Structural Design, Material Design, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Statics, Dynamics, as well as other math intensive courses. Im very good with people and like to attack problems from many different angles until we find what works.

About Scott
When working with a new student my number one goal is to make sure that the environment suites their every need so that the number one focus can be learning and having fun. I like to get my new students to give me a list of goals they want to accomplish and I like to lay out some lessons plans in order to get there. The first lesson I usually use as a base line test to evaluate where the student is at.

I enjoy solving math problems and I've gotten As for my maths and additional mathmatics since I was a little girl. I know the tactics to problem solving and I also enjoy the company of another person. Needless to say, I am a Maxpert.

About Clarissa
I'm 20 years old and I've worked in a luxury cafe that serves to children of all ages, selling quality chocolates and ice cream. (To be completely honest, that was my dream job since I was a little girl.) The reason why I worked here was because I was unsure of what to study after highschool and I didn't wish to waste my parents money. After 2 years of fun in the chocolate shop, I've decided to move to America to live with my family. I'm currently waiting for my courses to start for the semester, so I have free time on my hands! <3 I love to be around children and teach them. Since I was in middle school girl, I helped my siblings when they needed assistance in their homework and thought them what they needed to if they didnt understand what the teacher said in school.

I hope I can help your child/sibling just as much as I helped my belo
ved siblings. See you soon <3
