I’m excited to work with your child to help improve and enjoy math! When I was in school, math was a struggle for me. I had to learn math in many different ways for it to make sense to me. I had to work hard, and I did!
Because of my growing up and learning how to learn, it has made me passionate to teach and help others. I have taught in pre-schools and been a music teacher for 15+ years.
I’m a strong advocate of learning math. Without having a strong math base, school will be more difficult for kids and less enjoyable. Let’s work together to help your child learn and enjoy math so that their school experience is happier and more productive!
Students are required, by me, to have a subscription to a math site called IXL in order to track student's progress. ixl.com

For everyone out there that hears the word "Algebra" and runs away, it's time you knew a secret. Algebra can be fun and can be simple. Algebra is really just solving puzzles. Once you found out the easiest way for you to solve jigsaw puzzles, they probably became a lot easier! And notice I said the easiest way for YOU. We don't all solve puzzles in the same way. I solve them best when I do all outside pieces first. My brother solves them best when he finds pieces of the same color or pattern. I even have a friend that solves them by going across in rows. So you see, there are lots of ways to get to the same answer. Same thing for any type of math. Find what works for you and you're set to go! During my Algebra lessons, I focus on helping you discover your easiest way and I use lots of concrete objects.
I've been teaching Algebra over 10 years in my private tutoring practice. I'm pleased that the majority of my students realize a full letter grade improvement (or more).
Hi! I'm an online certified teacher and private tutor. My personal goal is to foster academic success in the student in your life. In addition, I strive to teach the necessary skills for every one of my students to become independent learners. From reading comprehension and algebra to study
Mother, father, teachers, and grandparents all tried to help. But none of us could get to him…he completely shut down. His tears and frustration were heartbreaking for all of us.
In three months of lessons with Chase and coaching for the adults (we changed our approach entirely), Chase not only caught up with first grade reading, but was more than ready for the second grade.
As Chase entered the second grade, we continued lessons with Miss Becky to ensure that Chase did not fall behind. He did very well that school year...what a huge difference from the previous year! He got to the point where he could read everything in front of him. The entire family was elated, especially Chase! Now he could read and understand vocabulary words that were one and two grades ahead of him. As he enters the third grade, reading is no longer a nightmare!!
With Miss Becky's academic knowledge and her very special approach to teaching children, she has made one boy and his family very happy!
Thank you, Miss Becky, from the very bottom of all of our hearts!

I tutor grade school - high school students and increase their interest in the subject, be it reading, writing or math. Keeping the student interested in what they are learning and curious to learn more propels them toward higher learning in the future.

I see marked improvements in their grades for this past year, and my eldest is actually skipping fourth grade as a result of lessons. I am astounded as to my girls' progress, and greatly appreciative of our tutor's expertise.
Her patient, methodical approach to teaching is why I see us remaining with her for all of our educational instruction. She has already taught arithmetic to my youngest (3rd grade), and algebra to my eldest (starting 5th this sept!), and is proceeding with more advanced math with no issue whatsoever. I cannot recommend her enough.

Some of us grow up thinking math is scary... I feel that because I've been there before. But in all honesty, I believe that the teacher either makes or breaks the class. I teach with the knowledge that we each move at our own paces. Some people feel like they just can't keep up with their class. Some are here searching for more than what their class is offering. I teach with the belief that we can do anything we put our mind to. You don't have to love math, but I'm here to help you love the experience of learning it.
My name is Tizzy and I teach because it's my passion. I help others grow and succeed because that's what I love to do. If there is an opportunity for me to help someone reach their goals, I'm going to take it. I find JOY in helping others on their path to success! I understand what it feels like
