For more than 20 years as an actor and teacher, I've enjoyed Improv Acting, a free thinking art form. Students learn to use their imagination, become many different characters, and truly 'think outside the box.' Improv is loads of fun! "The actor's playground!"
I offer a fun, interactive teaching style that encompasses more than 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience. As a performer I have worked as a professional singer, actor, musician, and dancer. I have always had a passion for teaching, directing, and composing. While my love for performing has lessened over the years, I have found my true calling: teaching, directing, and helping others to find their passion for music and the performing arts. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a special emphasis in music, theatre, dance, and psychology. I am a graduate candidate working on completing my thesis as my final requirement for a Masters of Arts degree in Music at San Diego State University. Working with Christine has been nothing short of an amazing experience. I have learned so much about the industry and have received so much insight on what it takes to be a great actress/comedian/etc. When I first started out, I had no idea what direction I wanted to take or where to start. Christine was extremely patient and came equipped with a roadmap to getting started. She takes every lesson at the pace that works best for me. She has helped me to set and define clear goals of what I want to accomplish and has made excellent use of our time together. I chose Christine because of previous reviews and she has lived up to every word of what others have said. It's been a blast and I plan to continue developing my skill set with her help!

Christine is the BEST!
As a beginner improver, I am so lucky I found Christine! She has taught me so many valuable tools that have improved my scene work and my decision making. In addition, she always addresses my specific issues during each lesson and even emails me with advice and fun GIFS! (no, not "gifts", but graphic interchange formats! :D Every class is fun and lighthearted and I look forward to it each week.
My lessons are virtual, but she is still very effective at participating in scenes and even encouraged my fellow classmate to join me during our lessons. We can't say enough great things about each class!!
I attended groundlings in Los Angeles, CA and previously studied at National Comedy Theatre. You can expect to challenge your improve skills in games and long form.

Acting is such a broad term! What are your goals? Do you want to be in films? Do you want to do Shakespeare? Do you want to be in a sit com? Depending upon what your interests are and where you want to go, we will build a plan together. My philosophy on acting techniques is that they are tools to help you, not tests you pass if you're a good actor and fail if you're a bad one. Different techniques work for different people and it is our job to find out what inspires you.
I've worked as a professional actor for many years, performed on Broadway, have my MFA in Performing Arts, and my BA in Arts and Education. I was an assistant director to Tony-winner Sharon Ott and have written and produced my own work. I have experience in both stage and camera acting, which have specific technical differences, but are both a lot of fun once you get used to the medium. Audition technique, preparing monologues, and creating promotional materials are also things I can help with. Anyone who wants to ...
My approach is both supportive and pragmatic, based on where each individual's skill set is right now and what your specific goals are. I've had the benefit of both formal instruction as well as a decade in the "school of hard knocks." Climbing up the ladder to earn my Equity Card on a Production Contact taught me a lot and I believe gave me a nuanced perspective as a performer.
Over 95% of my career is from attending open calls, including finding representation and my Broadway debut.
I continue to audition for film, television, and theatre, as well as perform in concerts and other venues. I write and produce my own work and am currently signed with Roth and Associates East.
A-mazing! She’s an awesome mentor! Her approach to singing is brilliant in the sense that she helps you explore yourself, your strengths and areas you could work on to improve. She helps you find and utilize your voice in a way that makes a unique artist. She digs in right to the foundation of singing (vocals) and performing. I am glad to have found her! And to add up, I never had a dull moment with her with her sense of humor and caring approach!

Rebecca is wonderful at helping my daughter learn better public speaking skills.

Rebecca immediately made my granddaughter comfortable. Rebecca is a sweet, charming woman who, I can see, works very well with both children and adults. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to make people feel good about themselves.
Teaching came to me through the recommendations of my own acting teachers. When I followed their advice I found that I could really connect and communicate with my students with the same clarity and communication that I had with other actors. I found that I could really assess and convey to them what they needed to really crystallize both their experience and delivery of a given character and/ or scene, and in such a way that they REALLY enjoy the process! Together we take them on a journey of enhanced self-discovery and delivery. My lifetime in the performing arts, close to 20 years of professional acting (on both coasts), years of intensive study with some of the true greats (Gary Austin, Dave Razowsky, Barbara Niven, Terry Schreiber, Wenndy Mackenzie, Jeffrey Sweet, Carol Fox Prescott, and others), and experience directing, casting, and producing in Los Angeles all inform the process we engage. I'm proud to say that many of my students have exclaimed that my class was the best, or ...
*PLEASE NOTE: I am currently away a lot, so most sessions will be online. HOWEVER, when signing up check with me re our locations at the time and perhaps we can schedule an in-person session. ALSO, I LOVE to travel to locations to teach private tutorials or group workshops and would love to do so! So, let me know if that's something you'd like to coordinate.
I've been so blessed to have had game-changing acting teachers who really "got," affirmed, challenged, invigorated, and transformed me. They've helped me in so many ways in my career and life overall. I want you to have that, too! I LOVE THE PROCESS - AND YOU WILL, TOO! There is as much joy and discovery to be had in every acting moment as there is technical prowess to be honed, and in order to make the whole thing synergize both have to be involved and engaged. The truth is that
you, as you are, have a great deal of it already covered, but you just may not know what you know and what you have. Discovering that is joyful and empowering, and the rest is a combination of learning how to perfect and wield what you already know and learning the tools and techinques you don't yet know. Then it's a matter of repeating and honing that with someone who you can trust; a teacher who really gets you, your type(s), your joy, your own unique colors and qualities.
You also need a teacher and coach who knows the particulars and requirements the industry has and will expect of you. I've worked on the east coast, in Los Angeles, and other places around the country, on stage and on the big and small screens. I performed for years on the world renowned Groundlings stage under the direction of The Groundlings' founder Gary Austin, in his Improv Troupes. He literally gestated the original SNL yet openly referred to our group as "the best group of improvisational actors I've ever worked with in my entire career!" I still can't get over that one and probably never will. I also studied with Dave Razowsky, Michael Gellman, Jeffrey Sweet, Carol Fox Prescott, Wenndy Mackenzie, Terry Schreiber, Barbara Niven, John Strawbridge, and others. I found myself on many a stage out there while acting in films, etc., as well. Along the way I've also directed, produced, and cast feature films and shows, and of course taught. SO, let's get you on the track to real learning and growth. Also, as I put together other workshops and conferences with other teacher associates of mine - expert, renown actors and teachers from New York, Hollywood, and elsewhere - I'll keep you posted so you can not just go to but live in the next level. I look forward to it.
**NOTE: I'm now bi-coastal, dividing my time primarily between Los Angeles, CA and Baltimore, MD, but am also often in NYC and DC. So, wherever you are, if we're in geographical proximity to each other when you need a session, we'll meet up in person; and if not, no worries, we'll work together online right here in the online classroom! We'll just play it by ear. (I will also travel to any city where there are enough students interested in taking a class and offer an intensive workshop, and possibly also private coaching if time allows. We'll work out the details and pricing for those on a case-by-case basis, but please don't hesitate to contact me about such an event if you're interested in one. I'm happy to do these kinds of classes!)
Great experience! Really kind, fun, casual, and expressive, and I can't wait for more lessons!

As an acting coach/teacher, Rob is warm, intuitive, and very giving - as an actor himself, he is talented, surprising, and inventive; it is such a joy to watch him take these wonderful gifts and translate them back and forth between the two arenas. He has much to share as an instructor - highly recommended!

My approach to teaching and acting stem from a naturalistic approach and is sourced from various techniques. I guide students to find the joy in acting even in dramatic work. I am a longtime working professional actor and have been a Teaching Artist in NYC for well over a decade. I am a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA, and can be seen on various Network and Cable shows as a Co and Guest Star. I like to tap into experiences that the student has had and help them develop their own ways to express and explore their emotions.
I worked professionally in film, on TV and on stage for years until I found representation. I discovered the joy in acting *and* auditioning and began to teach it through Acting Without an Agent™.
I am a working professional actor, who has been teaching since the 80's. I think that acting is acting. Once you have a solid foundation, the difference between stage or scene is minor. I like to help my students find the most natural and seamless way to a character by using the text and various exercises. I find teaching and acting to be a tremendous joy and I love sharing that delight.
I am frequently in NYC for work and auditions and can come to you if you are not in the Beacon, NY area.
In the past year, I have done Co and guest starring roles on the following TV shows: MURPHY BROWN; GOTHAM; MADAM SECRETARY; LUKE CAGE; ELEMENTARY; THE OTHER TWO; and the upcoming "THE LOUDEST VOICE" on Showtime, with Russell Crowe. I have been in many National and regional commercials. I have done theatre at such prestigious venues as Woolly Mammoth
, Dorset Theatre Festival (Winner of the "Best Actress" award for VALLEY SONG) , and The Public Theatre, to name a few.
I began working as a professional actor and got my auditions and booked work without representation. My Acting Without an Agent™ technique still gets me in the room and I would love to share that knowledge as well.
I have been an actor since I was a toddler. I have been in the profession for about 18 years. I have been in several movies and several commercials. As well as tons of musicals and plays. I can teach you how to nail and audition, help you prepare a monologue set up your acting resume and much more. I cater to each of my students individualized needs. I want to make sure that my students have a great time so I like to make sure our lessons are fun. Be sure to shoot me a message if you think we would be a good match.
I am a retired actress and vocal enthusiast. I have retired from going to auditions, and performing paid gigs after I moved to Flagstaff to earn my degree in Social Work. I have spent my whole life mastering acting and vocals. I have been in the acting/modeling business since I was a toddler and was with an agency for some time. I have been in several commericals and films and countless musical productions. I also was in a music production program called CMAS for two years. I have eight plus years of vocal training. I am classically trained and trained in performing musical numbers. As for acting I have twelve years of experience and was in the advanced acting class at Dearing Studio for two years.
Voice students can expect to improve their range weekly. To learn how to read music. Each voice is unqiue and special and I will aslo teach t
hem the proper skills and techiqunes that prevent vocal nodules.
Acting students can expect to recieve at least one new scene each week or until they have mastered the scene they have given. As well as how to prepare headshots and resume.
I have experience teaching students of all ages even adults. I want to make sure I cater to each individual preferred way of learning. I want to make sure my students are allowed to be creative and love to make each lesson fun! I believe everyone learns differently. I also have experience in working with children with special needs.
