Prepping an audition for an upcoming show or for admission into an acting program? Want to hone and develop your audition monologues (especially Shakespeare)? Just need a coach to help you take your acting to another level? Then let's get started, online or in person. I can help. I've been working as a professional actor in the theatre and on-camera for over 25 years. I've performed with the Shakespeare Theatre in DC, ACT Theatre in Seattle, Book-It Repertory, Seattle Shakespeare Company, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz to name a few. I've also been the featured voice in voiceovers for companies like University of Washington Medical, Golden 1 State Credit Union, Microsoft, and Surface Pro 3. On Camera Credits include short films, industrials, and commercials for Taco Time, Tulalip Casino, and Washington Dental Association. I hold a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an MFA from the Shakespeare Theatre's Academy for Classical Acting in Washington DC. My training includes a wealth of acting techniques (Stanislavski, Meisner, etc.), movement, and stage combat, with a focus in particular on voice and text for Shakespeare. I've conducted interactive workshops on Shakespearean Acting (including stage combat!) across the southeast while on tour with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival's Globeworks Program. I've also lead workshops at the West End Studio Theatre in Santa Cruz while performing with Shakespeare Santa Cruz.

I teach all kinds of acting, and have for over 40 years, but I specialize in stage acting, on-camera acting, acting for the face, voice acting, comedic acting, physical acting, improv, script analysis, monologues, audition prep, audition videos and voice over auditions. For Improv Acting we'll cover the elements of successful improvisation. We'll use exercises and games to develop your expression, imagination, spontaneity, creativity, solo work, and work with an ensemble. We'll create scenes, characters, and scenarios, and develop them into performance pieces. We'll explore improv as actor training, rehearsal technique, scene study, character development, and professional entertainment, including interactive theatre, immersive theatre, historical improvised theatre. We'll see how to use improvisation in film, television, and onstage. We'll study verbal improvisation, physical improvisation, improvised pantomime, and the improvised use of props. And much more. Our improv studies will be tailored to your specific abilities and needs.

Improv is a great learning tool for team building, spontaneity, listening, being present, speaking to groups, communicating one on one, saying yes and so much more. It helps that each game played builds upon the next to reinforce the learning. Improvisers fail forward. We embrace "failure." We have to fail in order to succeed. If we aren't failing, we aren't trying. What you get: Team Building / Laughter Workshop Bring the team together in an interactive environment that fosters positive thinking and collaboration. Improv Troupe Direction - for improv troupes who need an outside eye for notes, direction and ideas for marketing your troupe. At the end of the session, you will have new games and ideas to move your troupe forward. Christine will help each student become more present, less self-conscious and will get them excited about failing. Expect to leave this class feeling more confident and empowered. Christine is committed to providing a safe and courageous place for people to have fun, learn and play. My passion is to share the incredible art form of improvisation with excitement and humor.

Jason is a wonderful coach. Robbie really liked him because she felt so comfortable with him and worked one on one with him. He is very flexible and helps her to prepare for audition. I highly recomme

I absolutely loved taking lessons from James. I was just coming off of a long break from acting when I found him, and I’m so thankful that I did. He gave me the confidence boost that I needed to push
