Portuguese Lessons in Eolia. Amazing Teachers.

I lived in Manaus, Brazil for 2 years as a volunteer proselytizing missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a result of talking to people all day, every day, I attained full fluency and command of the Portuguese language. I further polished my abilities in the language by taking an advanced Portuguese grammar class and Brazilian history class (both taught exclusively in Portuguese) during my Bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University. I know the language intimately, and can provide the highest quality of instruction to students of the language.

Portuguese lessons with me are unique because I did not just learn Portuguese, it is my primary language. I come from a Portuguese speaking country. I grew up in an English and Portuguese speaking household, I have friends and friends' family members who I am teaching the language, I not only interpret for people at my job, but for family as well when they visit. I have family members who were born and are living in different Portuguese speaking countries so I understand the difference in the accents. I speak it every day. Lastly, I try to make learning Portuguese exceptionally fun!

Learning a foreign language gives you glimpses into a different culture, its customs, values, and how they see the world. I have had the pleasure of living in Belo Horizonte, Brazil for two years, working with a non-profit organization as a translator. Portuguese is a beautiful language, with many nuances. It’s speakers communicate not simply through their words, but with their tone, their emotion. I get that learning a new language at times, can feel overwhelming, which is why I would love to help! I am a native speaker, I will be able to teach my students pronunciation , grammar, and conversation. I will tenaciously but patiently help them master the language and all the nuances that make Brazilian Portuguese such a unique language.
