Book NowI remember having trouble myself with some prealgebra and algebra concepts in the 8th grade. With a little after school help from my teacher, I was back on track and did well. In high school, most of my classmates had to start with high school level algebra as freshmen. I tested out and was able to go straight to geometry.
Later in life, I was teaching these same skills to young and older adults who were studying to earn their GED. The math section of the GED is where most do poorly and I'm proud to say that over 50 of my GED prep students received their Maryland State High School Diplomas!

I have been a Substitute Teacher for the Charles County Public Schools since September 2018. I started working with Grade 1and 2. During the second half of the year, I began to substitute for the 3's, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1. It wasn't until the second half of the year, I started to enjoy helping children one on one in the Special Education Program. This is where I could concentrate on one or a small group of students who needed extra help with their classwork. I specialize in Reading, Reading Comprehensive, and Writing up to Grades 2. My students have told me that I am patience, I make learning fun, and I am very creative teaching the children at their learning pace.

Ever since I was a child, I absolutely loved to write. During my sessions as creative writing tutor, I hope to foster that same love for writing. My students are challenged to stay true to their own voice while simultaneously considering craft, style, syntax, structure, and the myriad elements of engaging, successful writing. My sessions can be catered to a specific goal (standardized testing), or can be an open-ended experience invaluable to academic success.
