"Daniel was the perfect tutor for my son's prep for the GED. He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the
tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!"

Matt is a rare gem in the tutoring world. He has an amazing style of teaching. He really goes in depth. My 11th grader son has a lot of res
pect for him. According to my son, "Matt is a genius". His logic and teaching style makes him stand out. Matt is not only great in mathematics, he is absolutely fantastic in english, reading, and writing. He loves to breakdown complex problems for his students to understand and also expects his students to ask him questions. Matt has helped my son in calculus, reading, and writing and my son has benefitted and enjoyed the lessons to the fullest. One thing that impressed me the most was that he does not need the answer keys to verify correct answers. He trusts his own reasoning in his explanations. But, there is one problem: once you hire him as a tutor, its hard to find another of equal caliber. Thanks to Matt, our son got into Cornell."

I graduated from SUNY Purchase with a BA in Studio Composition in 2007, and from Hebrew College with a Masters' Degree in Jewish Education in June, 2016. I have been working in after-school, Hebrew school, camp, and other supplementary educational settings for the past ten years. Most of my students are learning piano, and I also have a few Hebrew students. My Hebrew students are either studying for their bnei mitzvah, maintaining their conversational Hebrew, or learning for the purpose of competence of services or Torah study. My piano students have ranged from age 4 to young children learning Classical pieces to teens learning to play the songs they like to adults working on their songwriting and improvisation. My strengths are improvisation, music theory and ear training, accompaniment of popular songs - rock, theater, pop, folk, etc.

Ricky has been teaching my daughter for last 5 years. My daughter is now 15 years old. She already played piano for a couple of years before Ricky started working with her and at that time was getting disinterested. We were looking for someone who would bring that interest and spark back into her playing piano. I was looking for a special teacher who can teach basics of improvisation and accompaniment to a young child. After talking with several potential teachers, we decided to work with Ricky.
Ricky has proven to be an amazing teacher for my daughter. He is patient, creative and able to adjust to the childâs needs. I was amazed when couple of months after my daughter started working with him; she was already improvising and playing really cool pieces of music. That kind of teaching has inspired my daughter to continue playing piano for the last 5 years. She has accompanied two of her friends singing at her school talent shows and graduation ceremony with encouragement and inspiration Ricky has provided her all along.
Ricky frequently encourages my daughter to pick her own songs she would like to work on. Ricky has a strong knowledge of music theory and has incorporated that in his lessons. I love that my daughter is learning music theory, improvisation, accompaniment and reading music all with the same teacher. It is not easy to find a teacher who is so creative to include all of these in his teaching method. I would highly recommend Ricky as a piano teacher for any age.

Hi! I have a degree in Early Music Voice from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, and have studied voice with private teachers intermittently over the past two decades.
I also have a Master's in Cello Performance, and can teach cello at the beginner to upper intermediate level. My experience in teaching is with modern (standard) cello, but I can also teach the basics of baroque cello (with gut strings and a baroque bow). Gut strings can be finicky, but their sound is warm and expressive. If you are interested to know more, just drop me a note! Another instrument I can teach is the Viola da Gamba, a very interesting early 6- or 7-string instrument with gut strings. (That's the instrument I'm holding in my profile picture!)

I am an Art Educator, art is my life along with my two beautiful children 12 and 9 years old. They both enjoy doing art as well. I began treating art as a career in high school, my first show! I am so glad schools are now starting art shows at the elementary level, it gives students a sense of importance to those that see art as their talent; the ability to visually talk to the world. I love being a teacher; the questions, the discoveries of concepts, and of ourselves. I continue to take classes and train as I teach. The journey goes on! I hope to be able to assist in your journey of art discovery.

I'm a post doctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School with a PhD in Cellular Immunology. I also have a degree in Biomedical Science where I fell in love with the life sciences. I wanted to continue tutoring, a skill I strengthened during my PhD.
Teaching is a passion and a skill. I have been shaped by the teachers and lecturers I've met along my many years of studying and education and I wish to help students the way I was taught. A compassionate, caring and thorough approach.
I spent 4 years as an undergraduate student of biomedical science and 3 and a half years as a PhD student. I am a product of a successful student journey. I have honed these skills over the years and am in a unique position to tutor students.

I'm an author, lifelong worldbuilder, and multipotentialite. I have an avid interest in linguistics, especially in the context of history, psychology, and culture. I'm currently an ESL Tutor and one of my hobbies is conlag (ie. inventing fictional/constructed languages). I'm an artist too. I also graduated from Olin College of Engineering with a degree in computer science, which seems like something of a paradox. After all, "creative writing" and "engineer" aren't words often associated with one another.
However, that means I know more than anyone writers and creatives come from any and all walks of life, with different types of experience, ways of thinking, and end goals for their writing pursuits. Every student is different. As such, I craft lessons on an individual basis. I have a firm policy there is no such thing as a "stupid" idea.
