Combine subjects for a price break. For example 30 minutes of Math and 45 minutes of English would cost $50 separately, but would cost $45 for 75 minutes of Combined Tutoring. Simply choose ONE subject for the amount of tutoring time desired, and notify me which subjects you'd like to cover.
About Julie
*** Lesson Details ***
A typical lesson in my studio would begin with a brief question/answer time with the student to learn how their week has gone, and how their music practice is progressing.
For PIANO LESSONS we begin with Technique including scales and dexterity exercises, then we play from the Lesson book and a Recital selection. I typically let the student play through the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to play the piece again. After that we go over the Theory assignments, and do Ear Training exercises. I am comfortable teaching from a variety of different methods courses. The methods course is chosen according to the student's interest. I never require a piano student to continue using books that are not inspiring. There so many methods courses available, that a student may always be able to have methods books they LOVE.
In my SINGING LESSONS we also begin with a recap of the student's week. Then we continue with Warm Up exercises to prepare the student's voice for the lesson. Then we study Sight Singing and Solfege Singing (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do) to increase the student's listening skills. After that the student sings their selections. Like I do in Piano lessons, I listen to the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to sing the piece again. I am comfortable teaching many styles of vocal music including classical, Broadway, pop, rock, and Christian.
For MUSIC THEORY lessons, the study material is chosen according to the student's interest and age. Topics include notation, chord structure, chord progression, melodic structure, and harmony. I also incorporate Music Listening in the Music Theory lesson in order to learn from the masters in many styles of music. My Music Theory students will also have the opportunity to develop composition and songwriting skills if they desire.
My teaching style is structured and friendly, keeping the student's goals and interests at the forefront. I enjoy motivating students to reach their highest potential.
After 3 to 6 months in my studio my students will see improvement in their musical technique, ear training, music reading, notation, and knowledge. They will be preparing recital pieces for an upcoming performance. I provide two recital opportunities a year: in December, and in May. Most importantly, the student's love and appreciation of music will be growing.

She is incredibly patient with girls of all ages, and breaks down skater mechanics in a very clear and concise way. The kids love her and tell all of the other coaches all the time that she's their favorite. #nottakingitpersonally
We're so excited to have her as a coach in the Spring!

I am absolutely in love with science, which drove me to get my Bachelor and Master of Science in Geological Sciences. Geology encompasses practical applications of physics, chemistry, biology, and math to understand the very world we live on, as well as all the other planets and moons in the solar system.
The inter-disciplinary nature of my specialty has allowed me the chance to understand all the sciences, so whether you are studying for a basic science class, or preparing for the credits you need to graduate nursing school, I'm the teacher to help you learn what you need to know -- and have fun learning it!
About Luke
Foreign languages are among my favorites, and I have specialized in teaching Latin, Italian, and Japanese. As a geologist, I am also profoundly interested in the sciences. When I teach I like to understand where my students are coming from, what really inspires them, and help them to enjoy and love what they want to learn. For me, learning is always fun, so whether you like to study or you are having trouble motivating yourself to concentrate, together we will discover the joy and fun in what you are studying.

Luke is a knowledgable polyglot. He is very patient and teach me step by step. The teaching style is super logic. I learned a lot from him. And I just came to U.S. My English is not so good. But Luke could teach me Spanish very well. I will continue to learn with Luke.
Such an amazing teacher!

I obtained my Master's Degree in Physics the summer after my Bachelor's; you want someone who has TAed STEM classes and obtained a graduate degree in science at your side to make sure you master the class and your studies.
I'm also prepared for teaching! I have TAed multiple physics classes in college and taught over two dozen students in the past year alone! I know how people learn and am fully equipped to help you master your science classes.
Shoot me a message to determine what the best game plan is for your individual needs. I work with students through material, practice problems, test/quiz prep, teach supplemental lectures from unclear lectures in class, and write practice materials for my students! Let me help you master this topic to meet your goals.
Shoot me a message! Thanks.

My name is Ulyana and I'm passionate about teaching and tutoring in creative ways! The important thing for me is that you learn the material as well as experience the joy of learning. I cater the learning to you! For seven years now, I have either tutored or taught in classrooms and in the field for all age groups, sharing the joy of science and math. Most recently I worked for National Geographic Student Expeditions, a program for high school students interested in learning photography, film, and field (outdoor) science. During the springtime, I am a visiting professor at Colorado College, teaching at the undergraduate level. My day job includes running my company, Science in the Wild, which gets kids and adults alike outside, learning and doing science around the world while on expedition.
About Ulyana
For seven years now, I have either tutored or taught, in classrooms and in the field, all age groups, sharing the joy of science, math - and learning in general! When I was in my teens, I participated in many science fairs and symposia at the national and international level. Then I went to college and grad school in science. Pretty much, science has been my life! For any of your science need
If you're interested in creative lessons - with a true focus on your learning experience, I'm your tutor! Often times when working out in the field in extreme locations (e.g., Antarctica and Mt. Everest), I have to MacGyver solutions on the fly. I want to teach you how to think. This skill will serve you well, long into the future.
