Ms. Judy is my son's first private piano teacher and one of his favorite ones. Patrick, my son, started learning piano late at about 11 years old and he could start playing pieces fairly quickly within months. She is very patient, mindful, and thoughtful. When Ms. Judy needed to move over to east coast, she provided a list of local piano teachers and even recommended one who would fit best with Patrick. With the strong background knowledge from her, Patrick continues learning piano with the recommended teacher and enjoys playing harder classical pieces. I strongly recommend Ms. Judy as a piano teacher!!!

Both of my children have studied with Ms. Judy since age 3. Her knowledge of music is excellent, and her kindness and generosity is unsurpassed. She is extremely patient with children and simply a joy for the whole family to work with.

About Tyler
I received my Bachelors of Science in Cellular Molecular Biology, graduated Summa Cum Laude (GPA > 3.9) and Phi Kappa Phi (Top 10% of class). I scored in the 99th percentile of the MCAT, 100th percentile of the ACS National Organic Chemistry Exam, and 98th percentile in the science section of the ACT. This fall, I will be attending a Top 15 medical school.

I grew up with the learning disabilities dyslexia, dysgraphia, and auditory processing disorder. I believe the challenges of having learning disabilities has given me the experience to help others succeed and enjoy academics.

I began teaching by tutoring at-risk students in chemistry at my high school. I mentored students in problem solving and aimed to excite them towards the assignments.

I continued teaching as a teaching assistant for the upper division cell biology class
by instructing students in immunological laboratory techniques (including flow cytometry and ELISA).

My research on rheumatoid arthritis conducted at my college and Harvard Medical School has resulted in seven presentations, three at national medical conferences.

As a chess player I achieved a rating in the 98th percentile of scholastic players and have taught students from 8 to 27 years old.

About Kim
Looking for someone to help you get pumped about a challenging topic? I am your gal! The Lord has blessed me with enthusiasm for learning, and I will show you how to get excited about it too.

I earned my bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in 2003. My highest degree is a PhD in psychology with a specialty in quantitative research methods, which I earned from Vanderbilt in 2012.

As a PhD student I taught courses in introductory statistics and tutored high school and college students in math. When I'm not tutoring, I teach my children, who are 6, 4, and 2, and run a printing business with my husband.

I love to work with students of all ages and skill levels. Click the green button, and let's get started!

Kim tutored me during my last semester of my senior year on statistics. I am SO thankful to have learned from her because, not only is she a welcoming person to meet with, but her help on statistics brought my grade average up by almost 2 letter grades!
I actually felt excited about this tough subject because Kim never had to graze over any subjects in the course; she always knew the subject and went in-depth when I needed it.

I worked with Kim on The Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth at Vanderbilt. She is a brilliant statistician and a very patient teacher. She is able to work with the student or advisee on an individual basis by assessing the individual's educational needs. I would highly recommend her to any student who needs help in any field of mathematics.

M. Marie Roche conducted on the campus of U Mass eight seminars--open to all--on two of Shakespeare's history plays, King John and Richard II. Neither play is popular with modern Shakespeare-going audiences. But she accomplished the nearly impossible--making both plays compelling and relevant by her selection of background documents and themes. I hope that TakeLessons can provide an adequate platform for her level of sophistication.

About Rachel
Hi, I'm Rachel and I would love to become your tutor! After receiving a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, I spent a year teaching ESL to freshmen and sophomores at a university in Harbin, China. I then spent two years teaching English literature to middle school students in a private school in New York City. I also just finished a Master's in Education program specializing in English Language Teaching in England while tutoring high school students in English literature through Tutor Doctor. I have also done independent tutoring and last summer I taught a six-week long course for SAT Reading and Writing.

What I love the most about tutoring is getting to experience students having a "light bulb" moment, when the topics that once confused and/or frustrated them begin to make sense. I strive to help students achieve their goals wit
h an encouraging demeanor and engaging lesson plans. Please do not hesitate to contact me and schedule a lesson if you're interested!

About Ezra
I currently work as a remote mentor at Pyramind, a music production company in San Francisco.

My goal as a teacher is to unlock the creative potential within people. I believe that music education should empower the student to bring the contents of their imagination into full expression. Discipline and practice is only half the battle. You will learn all of the fundamentals of music theory, but the fun really begins when we start looking at your favorite songs and learning how to incorporate those ideas into your own creative process.

As a performing musician, I have fifteen years experience writing music for bands, studio recording, pressing cds and vinyl through record labels, touring nationally, writing and publishing two books on music theory, giving public talks for large audiences, and have been featured as interview guest on
several radio shows and podcasts.

About Doug
I am an accomplished math student and soon to be graduate student in Data Science. I have an extensive educational background in higher mathematics starting with Calculus taken while still in high school and continuing with honors coursework and undergraduate research while completing my Biophysics and Mathematics B.S. degrees at the University of Connecticut and graduating with Phi Beta Kappa.
I have tutored for 3 years at the college level as both a private tutor at the University of Connecticut and working for the athletics department at University of Connecticut where I was trusted in making sure student athletes got sufficiently good grades to stay on their teams.
I work with college students of all levels and majors and adapt my lessons to their goals and expectations for their path of study. I'm nonjudgemental and I make sure my st
udents are not afraid to tell me when they don't understand things and that their confusion is well attended to and cleared up with as little stress as possible. I'm not your typical introverted math student and have communication skills to explain mathematical concepts in ways that are simple to grasp. I put an emphasis on listening to my students and what they feel they need to learn and how they learn best and am chock-full of ideas and suggestions if the student has no preferences themselves. I look forward to helping you fulfill your math goals smoothly without all the frustration, whether they be requirements or a central part of your college education.
