About Julia
Hi! My name is Julia A. I have been tutoring students of all ages and skill levels at learning centers, colleges, libraries and schools since 2008.

My instruction extends nationwide, with students from all corners of the US, utilizing online tutoring services such as Skype.

My main field of study is in MATH (trig, algebra, geometry, precalculus), CHEMISTRY (high school and college), and PHYSICS (high school and college).

I completed my Bachelors in Physics and Mathematics Education at Hunter University and have gained experience with both in-person and online group instruction and curriculum development.

Some examples of the students I have tutored are: Elementary school students preparing for State competitions and exams; High school and College students in preparance for entrance exams, and in subjects such as algebra, geom
etry, trig, precalc, chemistry and physics.

I do Regents and SAT/ACT prep for these subjects as well as the GRE (These are NYS based High School Preparatory Exams - do not hesitate to ask should you need assistance with the ones offered in your state/country).

In addition, I am thorough and meticulous, by paying special attention to how the student grasps information and retains it, I prepare individualized handwritten reviews, with supplemental material found online and in texts.

I assign homework to keep my students ahead of what is going on in class, and a visual and intuitive understanding of the concepts I present is important to me, so I use visual aids (diagrams and interactive models) to help my students integrate what they learn with me in real life situations.

My instruction includes:
1. Tutoring based on the school curriculum
2. Instruction on the home-schooling curriculum
3. Assisting those with a gap in going back to school/university.

I start with an assessment based on what the student has trouble with or last remembers covering in school, and prepare material going from there.

As a result, my students all have improved grades without any need for cramming before tests, and I encourage a stress-free and easygoing learning environment.

My lessons are fun and enthusiastic - these subjects are beautiful and will help open your mind to new ways of thinking - whatever your field of study!

Great help to our 9y.o., who is exploring math. Clear explanation, additional materials, and a nice memo after each lesson. Thank you! Will do again!

Julia creates her own curriculum which is better than anything my daughters receive in their schools.
I see marked improvements in their grades for this past year, and my eldest is actually skipping fourth grade as a result of lessons. I am astounded as to my girls' progress, and greatly appreciative of our tutor's expertise.
Her patient, methodical approach to teaching is why I see us remaining with her for all of our educational instruction. She has already taught arithmetic to my youngest (3rd grade), and algebra to my eldest (starting 5th this sept!), and is proceeding with more advanced math with no issue whatsoever. I cannot recommend her enough.

About Brianna
Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,
plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!

History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.

Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!

Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

Great first lesson. Kathleen contacted me in advance to find out what I’d like to work on and she was prepared with several options tonight. Her helpful tips on folding and diagram reading were just what I was looking for. We agreed on the next piece and I’m already looking forward to our next lesson. Thank you!

I was looking for a boost to my new hobby with origami, and have had two lessons so far with Kathleen. I couldn't be happier with the lesson experience; her approach is detailed, clear, easy to follow along with and relaxed. She was even folding upside down from her point of view so that I could see from across the table. I was really impressed. There's nothing like learning from a real person. Definitely looking forward to more lessons in the future.

My son USCF rating 1400+ took a trial lesson with Danial. Danial is methodical and systematic in his coaching. He was quick to identify what my son needs to improve in order to get to the next level. The most important thing is that my son enjoyed his one-hour lesson and literally felt that the lesson time flew by as it felt like only 2 minutes long to him. My son gives Danial thumbs up and 5 stars.

About Laura
I'm a self-taught knitter, and I started knitting over ten years ago. I also crochet, and I've been doing that for over fifteen years now! I love learning new techniques and pushing the limits of what I can do! I've made tons of scarves, hats, and mitts, but I've also made blankets, ornaments, and others.

I teach students that have never knitted/crocheted before, or have experience and just want help with a specific pattern, or want to push the limits and try something new!

Want to make something as a holiday gift? We can pick a simple project and have it done in time for the holidays!

I love knitting patterns with interesting textures, and my favorite style is mosaic colorwork!

Reach out and we can figure out a plan that works well for you!

I took knitting lessons with Laura over our lunch hour at work, and after the very first one, I was super excited to be on my way to knitting the most lopsided, unsightly potholder ever! Laura is an AMAZING teacher. She is patient and encouraging, and she is happy to take time to make sure you understand exactly what you are doing. When you make mistakes (because you will!), she is happy to step in to show you how to fix it and then help you learn how to fix it yourself so you can become a fierce and independent knitting master like her! Seriously, it's impressive that someone so skilled can break it down to meet you where you are, and she does it in the most approachable, unassuming way. I have officially finished my "potholder" and I am confidently moving on to knitting real things! I've already improved, and that's mostly because Laura helped me get out of my own way, and be confident to try a new skill. You won't find a better teacher out there!
