Vena is very knowlegable about patternmaking and haute couture techniques. Besides, that she also helps me to see exactly were difficulties could come up, so that I wouldn't get into the usual beginner troubles!
As a person, she is calm and positiv minded. If you search for someone that knows a lot, has experience in the industry and it super precise- I can really recommend her!
I was having issues modifying patterns. Vena helped me understand how pattern making works and how to resolve my issues. She is knowledgeable and a natural teacher. What could have been complicated and difficult to learn was easy and straightforward. I highly recommend her as a teacher.Show More
Vena is a consummate professional. My son wanted to learn some basic sewing skills, as well as learn how to make clothes and accessories. In the first 1.5 hour lesson at our home, he completed a simple zipper bag. Over the course of six lessons he made a messenger bag, dress shirt and started on pants - which he finished while we were on vacation. Vena is an expert and also knows how to tailor her lessons to her individual students work style, needs and goals. I give her my highest recommendation. My son will be working with her again to learn how to design his own creations. Five stars all the way.Show More
I think Vena is wonderful. She is patient, warm, supportive and knowledgeable. She can help you complete specific projects (make a dress or a stuffed animal), help you become a better sewer or teach you the art of pattern making. Also, I should mention, she work professionally in the fashion industry and give lots of great insight into how garments are designed. Love Her!Show More

Vena has been giving my 14 year old daughter lessons and she loves it. She had no experience but has learned so much in a short amount of time. Vena is very calm and explains everything in detail. She demonstrates how a more difficult step is done and then has you do it while she is watching you.Show More

very good teacher! thanks
So patient and experienced! She really helped save a project that another teacher abandoned! Will definitely be seeing you again!
Vena is a phenomenal teacher. She really ensures that you understand the concepts fully when teaching and doesn't rush through anything to fit it within a certain time frame. In our first day, she helped me learn the semantics of patternmaking and sewing and apply it visually to a dress form! For any beginner or someone who needs to solidify their foundation, Vena is a great instructor!Show More
Had my first lesson today and Vena showed me many tips on how to lay out the pattern properly on the fabric and reviewed what the pattern symbols mean. I learned things I never knew and, as we went along, she gave me the reasons why things are done a certain way which is good so it'll make sense and I won't be as likely to forget them. I'm very happy and can't wait for Lesson 2.Show More
