I work in the industry for more than 10 years. I have my own production company since 2005. I directed movies as well so I know both sides very well.

I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching. I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids. Have a great day, Marcel
Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.
I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.

Hey! Nice to meet you! First off, I would love to thank you for your interest in my professional acting training. I am a fun, vibrant and grounded professional actor desired to help you reach your goals in the performing arts industry. I am a graduate of the well-known American Academy of Dramatic Arts, as well as a writer, songwriter, and overall just an encouraging individual willing to push you beyond your fears and help you dive in pool of creation. I specialize in warm-ups, physical acting, improv, auditions, monologue practice, Meisner Technique, Lee Strasberg's Method, and Stanislavski’s System.
I follow five simple but important steps to my method of engagement in performing. 1. Explore Explore your space. Rather it be on stage, in front of the camera, or just in your head; you must explore your space to find your comfo
rtable and tight places, as well as your obstacles and free spaces. The advantages of exploring first, is that you get a chance as the actor, to feel the area and build that fourth wall. 2. Ground Plant your feet and your voice down and get grounded. Your being is an electrical source. Just like in a home, in order to use electricity safely, it must first be grounded. You must ground yourself in order to release the full potential of your power. 3. Listen Listening is a key element in not just acting, but also in life. Listening doesn't seclude itself to just words. Listening involves, listening to your body, listening for queues, beats, moments and even silence! If you choose not to listen, your response will never be valid. 4. Act and React Every action has a reaction. Your job as an actor, is to fulfill the role by acting and then reacting. You must learn specific techniques to appropriately apply to your acting and if you are following rule number three, reacting should be a breeze. 5. Trust your muscles Trust that through repetitive motion and practice, that your muscles will do it's job and place your mind, words, and body exactly where it needs to be.
With these steps, the only thing left to add is discipline and creativity. I encourage my students to be themselves and be fearless in that. Without your difference in the world, there would be no change, there would be no story to be told, there would be no excitement. I challenge you to excite me and allow me into your space. Let's explore and create together!

My approach to teaching and acting stem from a naturalistic approach and is sourced from various techniques. I guide students to find the joy in acting even in dramatic work. I am a longtime working professional actor and have been a Teaching Artist in NYC for well over a decade. I am a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA, and can be seen on various Network and Cable shows as a Co and Guest Star. I like to tap into experiences that the student has had and help them develop their own ways to express and explore their emotions.
I worked professionally in film, on TV and on stage for years until I found representation. I discovered the joy in acting *and* auditioning and began to teach it through Acting Without an Agent™.
I am a working professional actor, who has been teaching since the 80's. I think that acting is acting. Once you have a solid foundation, the difference between stage or scene is minor. I like to help my students find the most natural and seamless way to a character by using the text and various exercises. I find teaching and acting to be a tremendous joy and I love sharing that delight.
I am frequently in NYC for work and auditions and can come to you if you are not in the Beacon, NY area.
In the past year, I have done Co and guest starring roles on the following TV shows: MURPHY BROWN; GOTHAM; MADAM SECRETARY; LUKE CAGE; ELEMENTARY; THE OTHER TWO; and the upcoming "THE LOUDEST VOICE" on Showtime, with Russell Crowe. I have been in many National and regional commercials. I have done theatre at such prestigious venues as Woolly Mammoth
, Dorset Theatre Festival (Winner of the "Best Actress" award for VALLEY SONG) , and The Public Theatre, to name a few.
I began working as a professional actor and got my auditions and booked work without representation. My Acting Without an Agent™ technique still gets me in the room and I would love to share that knowledge as well.
Improv and comedy are a couple of my BIG favs! Improv is so freeing and is essential for helping the new actor grow. For experienced actors, it can bring your performance to life like never before and really help you break out of patterns that are holding you back. Together we'll play with some of the best improv techniques and I'll give you "home play", games and exercises you can practice with friends.
I love to help new performers and people looking to break into the biz, as well as seasoned actors who want to up-level their career or deepen their craft. I have been coaching actors since 2008 and have a unique combination of experience and training to help you launch your career and create work that stands out to casting directors & agents and to make self-tapes that shine above the rest.
I have spent more than 20 years working in the entertainment industry in 8 countries. This includes modeling, commercials & print work in Athens & Istanbul, acting in Toronto & London, UK, and even screen writing, before diving into the big market of Los Angeles that I now call home.
With 10 years of vocal training (primarily spoken level voice & breath work for actors) voiceovers has also been a big part of my career, recording voices on more
than 400 projects to date.
My love for the craft brought me to study in NYC with legendary acting coach Uta Hagen: a process that transformed my approach and led to such roles as Blanche in Streetcar Named Desire and Karen in David Mamet's iconic Hollywood satire, Speed The Plow. I have also appeared on screen in The Bandit Hound II with Lou Ferrigno, Paul Sorvino & Catherine Bell & on TV in Mutant X, Doc, Singles Court, PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal and has hosted for HGTV. Currently I'm voicing 5 characters (English language dubbing) on the mega hit TV series Babylon Berlin and shooting a sitcom pilot! How fun is that?!
Hunter was wonderful! Incredibly kind and a very smart actor. She had great ideas about shaping the scene, and helped me get a better grasp on the story.

Simply one of the best coaches in Los Angeles! (really) This woman is a genius! I just started working with Hunter this year and she always brings my auditions to life. My booking rate has gone up and so has my confidence. She is so fun and supportive and really keeps me motivated and inspired to do even better work. She’s really knowledgeable about the business too. Love this lady and hope to keep working with her for years to come!

Hunter is an amazing teacher! She is so much fun to work with and always positive and encouraging, but she also really cuts to the chase. You absolutely get results fast! You can tell she has years of experience and really loves acting. Love working with her. She is my go to “acting guru” :)

Hello! I'm Dominic R. (though I'm commonly known as "that guy" to very close friends) and I'm an artist. I'm an actor, teacher, singer, comedian, writer, graphic designer, and a really, horribly novice ukulele player. People ask how long I have been an actor for and generally don't believe me when I tell them I've been acting almost my whole life! Since my days as an Oscar Meyer Weiner kid, it's just been in my blood.
I. LOVE. ACTING. And I love sharing my passion for that with other people, actors and non-actors alike. I have ten years of professional acting experience in Chicagoland and New York, I'm an instructor at the Actors Training Center in Wilmette, and I am the Founding Artistic Director of Lantern Theatre: A Marist Performing Arts Group. I'm a 2013 graduate of Columbia College Chicago (BA: Acting) and 2011 graduate of The Se

When I teach, each class is structured based off the student's individual wants and goals, but all of my acting coaching relationships start with a chat! What are your goals with acting lessons? What are your career goals? What sort of experience, or lack-thereof, do you have in the field? Do you have any dream roles from movies, TV, musicals, plays, etc.? Who are your favorite actors?
I believe that it's important for an acting coach to get a sense of their student's mannerisms, sense of humor, and general personality. Chatting about the items above give me a sense of who you are as a person, as well!
The beautiful thing about actors is that they HAVE TO come in all shapes, colors, ages, and sizes!! I have coached six year olds, I have coached 80 year olds, I have coached Shakespearean sonnets, and I have coached improvised comedy sketch material. No matter the background of the actor, the techniques stay the same!
"What a great class!! I’ve taken several classes with several different instructors. Each instructor is amazing in their own way. Alicia has the most amazi
ng energy and WOW! I feel like with just one class I learned so much. We made a short film which was great to finally put all my classes together to make something amazing with my fellow classmates. I WILL be taking more classes with her."
"Christine has the unique ability to combine great teaching with a lot of laughter and fun. She allows her students to feel completely comfortable to say
and do anything that comes to mind, for that is what improve is all about: staying in the moment. Her exercises to mold that "improv state of mind" are fantastic and opens you up find humor in just about anything. Her classes not only shaped me into being able to feel comfortable in front of an audience, her teaching has shaped me into not taking things happening in my own life sooooo seriously. Thank you, Christine, for helping me in so many areas of my life, all lthrough your sense of humor and excellent teaching skills."
"High level of communication and ability to understand needs if the student. Her skill level sets a great example of what can be learned."
"James is a very caring teacher who took the time to get to know my strengths and weaknesses. He has many years of experience in this field and it shows in
Thank you James for the training, I grew as a improv student from the time I worked with you. I utilized this class as a test for my profession (business) and am grateful that I selected you as a mentor/teacher. I am happy with the results and may be knocking on your door again down the road. Stay tuned."
"Loads of fun! what a fantastic class! the first day i was honestly scared, within minutes of being around christine it is litereally impossible not to be
comfterble! I can honestly say i havent laughed this hard in a long time!"
"Awesome teacher! I did online, in-person and at-home classes. All worked very well and were each just as efficient as the other. I have had a very fun exp
erience and my craft as grown so much! Thanks TYLER :D"
"LK was great. She took me through several exercises, then gave me homework to do for my next class. She made me feel very comfortable. The reason I was wa
nting to take classes in the first place is because I am always being told that people cannot hear me when I talk. Also I have always wanted to take acting classes. Please let me know if you think this is the best class to take if I try to pursue Theater Acting, or Film Acting in the future. Thank You, Laura Boys RPH"
"Participated in an improv class with Christine a few years ago. Not only was it great fun but made me feel as though I actually had a tiny bit of a goft f
or it which has proved useful to me when I give talks in the area. As a journalist and author I do a lot of talks and that improv class has proved very valuable and it was educational too."
"Arlys is so talented and has so much experience, you can see this in her teaching. Probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet!"
