Portuguese can be an easy language to learn for an English speaker if you can find the right connections!

I'm self taught, and have traveled several times throughout Brazil and Portugal with ease. I am also a pro musician with a special focus in Brazilian music, and can coach vocalists looking to sing in Portuguese.

Portuguese is the language of Bossa Nova (a new trend), and Fado and Saudade (deep nostalgic feeling). I have been teaching Portuguese for over five years, and, as a native Spanish speaker, I've learned Portuguese from the ground up, just like my students.

My students not only go on to make new friends, but acquire new critical views that become very useful when searching for new professional opportunities.

I use a communicative approach and I highly value students' personal experiences when creating a lesson. I love to teach all ages, from beginner to advance.

Gina has a BA and MA in Portuguese language and literature. She has family in Brasil and teaches both Brazilian and European Portuguese. She is very active with the Brazilian community in her city, promoting the Portuguese language and culture. She does translation and interpretation work as well as tutoring and teaching. Gina travels frequently to Brasil and Portugal and is very happy to share her passion for the Portuguese language.

I have spoken Portuguese for about 3 years now. With two of those years living in a Portuguese speaking country (Cape Verde). I still keep frequent on my skills and speak as often as I can.

I love teaching and seeing people progress is one of my favorite things to experience. I have taught people looking to learn Portuguese before serving a mission, but I am willing to teach for any reason!

While by no means am I a professional or "native" speaker, I am extremely fluent and can get you starting to learn Portuguese at a much lower rate than other teachers. If after a while you want to move to a more advanced teacher, go ahead! Consider me the 'community college' of Portuguese lessons.
