Teaching, learning, and music are passions of mine! Whether you are a beginner who has never played an instrument before, or an experienced musician, I have experience with all levels and am thrilled to teach you.
Euphonium is my primary instrument, but I have experience teaching and performing on all of the brass instruments, and competed on a national level at the Leonard Falcone Festival two times!
I have taught instrumental music for 16 years in the public schools, and have taught privately for over 20 years. I have my bachelors in Music Education, and my masters in conducting.

I believe the way from someone to learn anything is through interactive Learning process so students can be engaged and ask questions. I like teaching from the basics of a concept to the big picture so that you don’t just learn through memorization.

Experienced ESL teacher and a Certified Language Coach, trainer for professionals and open-minded individuals, who are ready for a change, ready to move on with English language learning to another level and get the results. I structure my sessions so clients learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation, I help you to set achievable goals, to find your unique motivation and your learning style, I typically don’t use books at our sessions as I believe that through structured conversation and practice you learn much more, you can still use books for selfstudy and review between the sessions! I am using mind maps, online platforms to make our sessions fun, interesting and super efficient!

The lessons are tailored to my interests and learning style. Not every teacher has the ability to teach in a way that caters to an individual's learning needs and abilities. Having this ability makes Zhao Yang (feichang hao!) great! Each session, she reviews what was taught in the previous lesson and homework given. She also gives me a game plan on what I should practice as well as tools that I'll need to help me practice. I feel more and more confident after each lesson. I really appreciate Zhao Yang!!!

Master of Music from The Juilliard School
Teaching since 2016
As a graduate of The Juilliard School and a former member of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, I have extensive experience performing as a classical violinist and violist in solo, chamber, and orchestral music. I have been playing the violin since the age of 5 and have participated recently in many well known music programs such as the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Music Academy of the West, New York String Orchestra Seminar, and Aspen Music Festival. I have experience teaching in violin sections in orchestra and group classes through the Tufts Community Music Program. I grew up learning through the Suzuki method, so I encourage learning by ear and emphasize the importance of efficient and organized practice. In a lesson with me, I would focus on learning classical violin technique in order to produce the best sound, while allowing the student to pick their repertoire based on their musical preferences, however always encouraging exploration of the classical genre!

Imagine transporting yourself into another time — pretty cool, right? This is exactly what readers get to do with the historical fiction genre. These kinds of novels invite readers to escape to a different world in a different time. However, when it comes to writing a historical novel, it takes a lot more than just jotting down some words on the page. You have to set the scene and create a convincing setting, where you readers can immerse themselves and lose track of time. You have to m …

Unlike some other academic skills, the ability to write well is something that follows you from elementary school all throughout your life, particularly if you work in an office environment - so it's no wonder there's such an emphasis on it in school! From creative short stories and descriptive paragraphs in elementary school to lengthier prose and argumentative essays in high school, and then implementing those skills to write research and term papers in college, students spend a great deal …
