I have a masters degree in education and experience writing scholarly articles for journals. I began writing poetry at an early age and won several competitions for this. When I began writing technical papers, I wanted to engage my readers the same way I did with my poetry. To accomplish this, I took writing training courses. I also work continuously on improving my writing skills. I recently completed a masters thesis and was commended for my writing. When teaching writing, I not only help my students complete their assignments, I give them tools to continue developing their skills.
Hello, I am a certified teacher and also an engineer. My main goal as an educator is to help students realize their true potential. Beyond helping my students complete homework or learn a new skill I provide them with tools for success. I teach my students so they can take charge of their learning.

The ability to communicate effectively and confidently can be one of the most daunting tasks. Sometimes, the mere thought of it can make us feel paralyzed.
I work with clients in one on one sessions, many online, giving them tools to speak up and out more openly and comfortably. Not only does their business improve but so does life!
Are you tired of the same old strategy to battle your fear of speaking in public? Is shyness something you've dealt with your entire life and you've become a successful executive in spite of it? Are you white knuckling every meeting and phone call? Are you watching yourself while speaking in public instead of being present during presentations or cringing as you watch yourself speak? Learn the tools actors use to manage their performance anxiety. It's time you break through your fear, once and for all, and have some inner peace while you work. Once you have a system, and the information you need, you'll

I've been teaching math for 7 years and my students have gone on to develop a stronger connection with the subject after their time with me. Within the first few sessions, you'll be able to fully understand the concept you're working on and as time goes on you'll develop skills for problem solving that make all topic easier. I specialize in 5th through 12th grade, and am familiar with several curriculums and textbooks, including Illustrative Math, CME, Pearson EnVision, and Bridges. I have 7 years of classroom teaching experience and I see the world through both a creative and scientific lens. I love to make scientific concept applicable to everyday life so students can really gain mastery over content.
I am a passionate and creative educator committed to the development of my students. I believe in experiential learning and relationship-based teaching. Students will be challenged but also met with kindness as they walk through the challenges of mastering a new skill.

I have 3 girls in High school (10th, 10th, and 9th) . they had been struggling in math since I can remember. I didn't think I could afford tutoring. They each had an 'F' in math.
I found Colin, and what a blessing! In just THREE short weeks Colin had my girls understanding HIS lessons, their CLASSROOM lessons and PASSING their exams! They brought their grades up too!
The best thing I can compare his tutoring to is: an adult teaching a kid to ride a bike...
He didn't expect them to just ride a bike. he took the proper steps and taught my girls about the bike parts, the way the bike functions, how they all work together, how to properly sit and pedal, and he even held them up until they understood it completely and eventually were able to ride the bike on their own.
Thank you Colin! for putting my girls back on track with math!"
Kids who love to write may be off and running once the pen hits their hand, but other children might not feel comfortable writing unless given a few creative writing prompts. Creative prompts encourage imagination and provide a jumping off point for journal entries and stories. Even children who love to write may find it easier to work from a prompt because it gives them an area of focus - and it's fun! As a parent, one of the best ways to encourage your child's love of the written word is to pr …
