I have helped dozens of students over the last five years improve their SAT scores dramatically. There are clear types of questions the math section of the SAT repeatedly asks. The first step to mastering the test is to know how to do each type, the next and most often neglected step is to know how to do each type with ease and the last step is to be able to quickly recognize each type and apply the techniques necessary for solving them. My method for achieving this is to explain the concepts multiple ways to find the one that makes most sense to the student. Then I have students repeatedly do each type until they become commonplace. Last, I have them do as many practice tests as possible so they learn to apply the concepts utilizing time management. By repeating each question type rather than doing one and moving one I ensure that the concept sticks in the student's mind. By repeatedly taking practice tests students earn the confidence they need on testing day to perform their best.

Best experience! My son who is on 6th grade had to take the SSAT in a short period of time and Chris got him engaged from the first class, not easy for an online class. He was easy to communicate and was open to work with our schedule. Thanks for all the work you did!

Great Algebra tutor! Chris was tutoring my daughter in algebra. He picked up very quickly to see where her weakness is. He is very patient and takes his time in making sure my daughter gets it done. Excellent tutor.

The SAT Writing/Language section expects students to understand basic grammar rules and writing mechanics, while the SAT Essay is looking for college-ready writing skills. I will critique your child's essays to determine which areas he/she need to improve on and provide them with exercises and tips on how to reach that. Prep for the writing section includes a review of correct sentence structure, paragraph organization, word and grammar usage, and fluidity. The steps we will take to strengthen your child's writing and grammar skills now count tremendously toward success in more advanced, future writing. For SAT Reading, your child needs to be ready to analyze and interpret college-level text correctly, the aim of this test section divided into three smaller, interspersed sections. I first have students take and score at least one practice test prior to our first lesson in order to assess their current reading comprehension, analytical, and test-taking skills. Then I help them ...

I've been tutoring Math online and at a local school since 2008. I hold a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. My areas of expertise are: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Applied Technical Math.
