Elizabeth became very aware of the importance of Mind-Body connection and began her Yoga practice from the age of 14 parallel to her intense musical studies, continuing through her college years. She is now completing her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification and tutors privately. In 2022, she intended intensive Hatha Yoga courses at a Yoga und Wellness Retreat in Steiermark, Austria with a certified teacher trained in Rishikesh, India. Elizabeth likes to incorporate different styles of yoga to increase flexibility, strength, steady breathing, and to increase muscle tone, as well as to reduce daily stress and gain a greater sense of relaxation and well-being. I have been practicing yoga for nine years, and I recently completed my 200-hour teacher training and certification through My Vinyasa Practice (RYS). I am currently working toward my 300-hour advanced teacher training. My lessons are very beginner-friendly! I will cater each sequence toward you and your preferences. I love making the class fun, teaching proper form and alignment, and focusing on breathing styles and techniques to reduce stress. I teach yoga for people who are very new to yoga and want to ease their way into their practice. I also help those who have yoga experience to enhance their practice. I will create personalized yoga sequences based on your goals. I will coach you on proper body alignment and teach you about breathwork. The style of yoga I practice is vinyasa.
Our yoga classes will be adjusted to your experience and goals. I specialize in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga styles. To bring awareness to your body and mind I love to incorporate breathing exercises and meditation in my lessons.
I was a science teacher at the high school and college level before I got sick and had to leave the classroom. Suffering from autoimmune issues for the past fifteen years, I set out to find healing on the yoga mat and through other lifestyle changes. My approach to teaching is a combination of clear, concise, easy-to-understand instruction from years of experience as a science teacher in a classroom, concern with safety and compassion and caring from dealing with a chronic illness most of my adult life. By the way, I love to smile. My joyful approach to teaching is quite infectious in a good way. I now use Gentle Somatic Yoga which is appropriate for anyone with chronic pain to help release muscle tension and create greater ease of movement. I can work with anyone -- whether you are chair-bound or a young person who needs to learn to relax and release stress.
