About Hanna
A dancer for most of her life, Hanna found the stretching and strengthening aspect of yoga to be an excellent complement to her dance training. It wasn't until she began classes at CorePower Yoga that she was able to find a deeper connection within herself and truly fell in love with the practice. A movement enthusiast, Hanna was immediately drawn to the physical challenges presented through creative Vinyasa flow sequences. Shortly after, she felt an energetic shift begin to impact her life in the most positive of ways. Hanna received her 200-Hour Yoga Teaching Certification in 2014, and now teaches yoga, dance, and helps lead yoga teacher trainings. Hanna’s yoga classes incorporate a focus on breath and alignment in order to flow seamlessly through postures, hoping that her students will find the same moving meditation that brings her to
her mat every day. Hanna is thrilled that she is able to make a living doing what she loves by helping her students find their bliss. 

Hanna graduated from Columbia College Chicago where she received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and Arts Management. Hanna's focus has shifted to teaching yoga primarily, but she continues to train and perform throughout the Chicago dance community. Hanna loves teaching dance and fitness class to students of all ages and experience levels. I have been taking Liam's Tai Chi/ Qi Gong class for nearly two years now. He is a dynamic teacher that is sensitive to different types of learning paces and styles (both eastern and western) and employs both in his classes. His explanations are simple and he always relates the movement back to its origin as a martial arts defense/offensive move which helps one establish the intention behind the movement. I have learned yang short form and chen style short form from him. I would highly recommend that you take his class if you are interested in beginning or continuing a tai chi practice. Through my practice I have found a healthy way to manage stress and anxiety.

INTERNAL ALCHEMY meditation is an intuitive life-force-energy practice that Tamara has been utilizing and teaching since 1986. Tamara began practing yoga in 2005 and completed her Yoga Teacher Training at Asheville Yoga Center in NC - 2009.

QI GONG
Tamara began practicing Chinese QiGong in 2003 after discovering it's similarities to her intuitive practice, Internal Alchemy. She was strongly intrigued by this energy practice with over 5000 years of passed down teachings. Tamara soon trained at Kun Yu Shan Academy of Martial Arts in China in 2006. She then studied the rudiments of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Dragon Rises College, 2009-2010.

SKATING
Tamara has been ice skating since age 2, roller skating since age 3, rollerblading since 1994, and urban street skating since 1999.

I went to Tamara for Yoga to just feel more present and to become more flexible, but I got so much more. A problem with my neck and shoulder I had for so many years that I forgot it was always there , is now gone. It was locked up for years & it's now loose. It gets stiff on occasion, and when it does I now know how to release it. And it works! It took time and practice, but it got there! It's more like a therepeutic, transcendental session of magic wherein I'm learning how to do the magic on my own. So good!

My journey into yoga started out with just wanting to be able to touch my toes. I sat down on my mat in my first class in a room with about 40 other students, nervous as ever about all the crazy gymnastic like poses we'd have to do. Our teacher turned down the lights a bit, turned on some soft flute music, and asked us to take a deep breath. Then another. Then another. Slowly she guided us to move our bodies and focus on how each breath felt in each position. Eventually, breath by breath, I was able to touch my toes.
