Marty has a wonderful energy about her and her teaching style was very helpful to me. We worked on my range, tone, and various techniques to open up and improve the voice which definitely helped! I saw improvements in less than 5 weeks (1 lesson per week) and her personalized booklet helped keep me on track! She's fantastic.

I went to Marty for voice lessons, initially - I had never taken any before, and I wanted to grow in improving my singing voice. I did have about 10 years of instruction in classical piano before my 20's, however, and after a number of voice lessons with Marty, I asked if she would also help me learn more improvisation on the piano (which is something I had only learned a little of in my years of piano lessons). It was a real treat to get to a place where I could both play and sing at the same time with her help - and comfortably! She was so fun to work with, and I really appreciate her perspective on music, and her clear enjoyment of it. Marty helped rekindle a love for music in me that had been pushed aside for awhile, in the midst of my life as a busy mom. To top it off, I found out near the end of our season of lessons together that she is also an excellent calligrapher, and that she offered lessons for that too - which is something else I wanted to learn. She helped get me started with that as well. I would recommend Marty to a friend for any of these three categories of lessons. She is knowledgeable, inspiring, and a lot of fun to learn from! I look forward to taking from her again in the future.

When a student attends an Alexander Technique lesson the teacher will work with the student in a variety of movements such as, sitting, standing, and bending. As well as, working in movements the student does in their every day lives. While doing these movements the teacher may ask the student to stop and observe how they feel physically or what they maybe thinking about during the movement. This is done in order to help the student assess their coordination and try to improve the efficacy of their movements and thought processes.

I would then conclude the lesson by answering any questions the student may have about the Alexander Technique. I may also give them encouragement to think about the principles we had discussed in the lesson and observe from when they walk out of the lesson to when they come back for their next lesson how they may incorporate the Alexander Technique principles in to their daily life. In certain circumstances I may also provide the student with a reading

Nicole is a very educated and skilled musician that offers a lot of insight to new and intermediate violin players. Her lessons focus on technique in various areas such as bowing strategies, shifting, and scales in various keys, and Nicole is always prepared to teach her students these skills and help them along the way.
We highly recommend her!

My daughter has been taking violin lessons from Nicole for almost 2 years. I appreciate Nicole's patience, the variety of techniques she uses to ensure proper posture, bow grip, etc; and the fact that the lessons are tailored to each individual student and their musical interests and habits. We will miss her when she moves out of the Denver area!

The Alexander Technique is a 100-year-old method for helping you learn how to use your body properly. I use gentle hands-on guidance and verbal instruction to help you prevent movement patterns that wear you down by the end of the day or cause pain. There are no exercises, machines or special clothing. Instead, you apply the principles to your normal activities. It takes from 5-30 lessons to learn the Alexander Technique and all lessons are either private or shared and are taken once or twice per week.

Leland is passionate about the Alexander Technique. The lessons I took with him taught me to think about my body and movement in a new way. I always left feeling lighter and taller, but the real secret of Alexander is what is says about the power we have to improve our own lives. Truly transformative.
