I enjoy the practice of meditation personally as well as professionally in my life. Personally I practice the art of meditation in my spiritually and flow on and off the mat, Professionally I incorporate this modality as a music therapist and yogi.

I embrace the blend of music (in which play, sing and provide instruments for participants) as a means to guide meditation and enhance the yoga practice and flow for relaxation, personal reflection and processing.

About Natalie

I am a Music Therapist with background in Psychology, Masters in Social Work and Yoga certification. I have been teaching voice, guitar and piano lessons for over 10 years. I have directed children's Musical theater camps, and taught piano and voice in music studios and privately for over a decade. Performance wise I have been on TV, musicals, lead singer in a band as well as performed on a cruise ship. I enjoy all forms of music. My personal favorites are Jazz, especially Brazilian Jazz, Musical Theater, Alternative Independent Rock and the Classics of course ;) *** Lesson Details *** I take a student-centered approach which basically means I take a needs assessment of my students and map out goals that are essential for them, their learning and where they want to go. Natalie is a superb teacher! We are thrilled to have found such a compassionate, dedicated, competent teacher. She provides my daughter with excellent lessons of consistency, practice, review of previous lessons and introduction to new material. My daughter is so excited for her lessons because Natalie is so positive and enriching in her teaching style. Natalie exudes happiness, knowledge in the subject matter, and an overall engaging personality. My daughter has made leaps and bounds since starting lessons several months ago. We highly recommend Natalie as a singing teacher!!!

Sound Yoga Therapy™ (SYT) developed by Teresa S., MMus, RYT is a foundational mindfulness based meditation approach rooted in Western musical theory and vocal pedagogy, North Indian classical music, yoga, Buddhism and other contemplative traditions. Sound Yoga Therapy™ sessions guide participants to allow sound vibrations to become "objects" of attention. Sound is used both actively and passively as created by vocal toning, tuning forks, other vibrating instruments and verbal instruction. Some of the benefits reported by participants of SYT are deep relaxation, increased vitality, enhanced concentration and physical, mental and emotional well-being.

About Teresa

I grew up performing and singing. My family loved music and the arts and we went to the theater, ballet and symphony all the time in Houston Texas. My mother used to play music to get me to sleep when I was very young. She played opera by the famous Italian tenor Caruso and symphonic music by the French Impressionist composer Debussy. As a teenager I played the guitar and sang folk and pop songs with my friends. When I became an adult my interest turned back to classical music and opera as I had heard as a toddler. Eventually I found myself on stage singing opera in New York City and classical chamber music at Tanglewood in the Berkshires. I began teaching voice while I was getting a Bachelor's Degree in Music at the University of Texas. When I came to New York City I opened the Vocal

I can sum up my opinion of Ian in one word, WONDERFUL !! I started piano lesson as a way to help me get thru the grieving process because I had just lost my husband. Ian is a very caring and understanding human being. His patience is amazing! In just 2 months, with his instruction, I was not only able to play basic tunes on the piano, BUT, I wrote a song. Pretty cool !! :)

Peter D. Malibu, CA

I have studied various meditation techniques (vipassana, guided visualization, affirmations, etc.) and have practiced extensively over the last 12 years. My emphasis is on cultivating the two primary qualities of concentration and self-compassion, which can help transform the individual's state of mind.

I have regularly led meditations for groups, and am particularly adept at delving into the techniques on a one-on-one basis to help each person create the best practice that will enable them to grow and move forward.

About Peter

I have taught and helped hundreds of students - of all ages - to make learning music an exciting process, and helping them achieve their goals. I teach piano, songwriting, composition, and music theory, and music production, and am fluent in Spanish. My teaching style involves technique, theory, ear training, sight-reading, music history, and performance, with the goal of creating solid, well-rounded musicians. For more seasoned music students, I help them to hone in on a musical path that best suits them, whether it be soloist, composer, accompanist, songwriter, etc. Over the last five years I have studied with over 12 music professors, both in the classroom and individually for 6 years at Saddleback Community College in Orange County. I have also studied a number of styles while

My child was resistant to learning the guitar - thought it was too hard - but was able to make strides and now enjoys it due to Peter's patience! He made the lessons fun, too.

I have worked with and learned from Peter D. for a little over 2 years and am SO happy with how much I have learned. Peter is classically trained but is also open to many music styles and experimentation. Not only is he an exceptional musician himself, he really knows how to "diagnose" each student and create the lesson around their needs. You will not be bored in Peter's class!
