About Hrant
I have a bachelor's degree and went to U.C. Berkeley right after high school. I am a unique tutor in that I also have an M.D.degree! I love working with children as well as adults, and I am very experienced. I have been tutoring students professionally in Math, Language Arts, Science, among other subjects since 2008. Before that, I taught remedial workshop classes for more than 2 years. After medical school, I spent more than a year training in a psychiatry program, so I utilize psychological principles when teaching. I also work very well with those who have learning challenges, such as ADHD. Currently, I am unlicensed to practice medicine.

*** Lesson Details ***
I cater my lessons individually to each student as each student's learning style is completely different. This way I maximize the learning experience each student has w
ith me. My experience with people in medical settings and in psychiatry gives me an edge to do this.

I was failing genetics and with online tutoring i went from a 69% to A. He really has your best interests in mind, when i asked him last minute to help and he was too packed helping other students he referred me to another well rounded tutor. dr. Z is worth the wait since he has a lot of patience for disabled students, he truly enables them. Thank you for helping me accomplish such a tough subject.

I just started nursing school at UCLA and had failed my first midterm. Dr. Z was really supportive and taught me how to study. He really knew how to teach the material. After tutoring with him on a daily basis, my grade went up to an A on the final, and I received an A- in the class ! Whoo!!!. This tutor is excellent in every way and I highly recommend him!

Master in all math concepts. Can identify student shortfalls and address them through the subject fundamentals approach and by tying in real world applications for easier grasp of material.

About Daniel
818-577-7000

I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 9 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven very effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success!

Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subje
cts can be attributed to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.

Math:
• Elementary • Pre-Algebra • Algebra 1 & 2 • Geometry • Pre-Calculus
• Trigonometry • AP Calculus • Business Calculus • Differential Equations

Physics:
• AP Physics 1 & 2 • College Physics

Test Prep:
• SAT I & II • ACT • ISEE • SSAT • HSPT • GRE • and more

Computers:
• MS Word • Excel • PowerPoint • Adobe Acrobat • General Windows/MAC

Mentorship:
• Grade Monitoring • Teacher Collaboration

Executive Functioning:
• Organization • Time Management • Study Skills

• Completely turned around achievement and self-confidence of mentored students
• Track record of student improvement particularly in math and physics

I was struggling with calculus 1 at SMC and felt very intimidated before Daniel came along. He helped me understand what calculus was all about and always explained new concepts clearly. Daniel went above and beyond his duties and was always on time. I ended up with an A and would highly recommend Daniel to any student with math needs.

I get real with the math! There's nothing in it I don't love or have fun with!

I'll answer your questions, post thoughtful ones, prepare you for a test, relate concepts... if it's about math and how to understand it, I got it!

I also first studied Philosophy receiving my first BA; so, my view math really gets at the concepts, deep down to the insight and beauty.

Hello,

I'm a state certified math teacher for 6-12. I have taught math, physical science, and life science for 4 years at the middle school level at a private school in Los Angeles.

I focus on making sure students understand the language of math. I incorporate quality note taking methods, as well as ensure students are solving problems with an organized step by step approach.

I also have an extensive science and engineering background knowledge both in-school and in practical application with 13 years of engineering experience in industry. I often connect the raw math concepts with their applications in secondary level science subjects like physics and chemistry.

For high school students, I always stress the key Algebra principles for the ACT and SAT.

For college students, I am able to cover differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, and statistics.

I can meet in person, but given the horrible LA traffic, I would prefer to conduct online sessions in which I can both ...

About Mark
Hi!

I'm a former engineer turned math and science teacher. My Mechanical Engineering education is from Stanford and my masters in Engineering Management is from Milwaukee School of Engineering. I have over 6 years of teaching experience in public, charter, and private school classrooms. I have 2 years of experience working part-time at one of the top-tier professional tutoring centers in the nation which has trained me to teach subjects ranging from beginning reading to high school courses and SAT/ACT prep.

I can teach any math from K-college. I like to say "K thru Calc!"! I have a passion for learning and try my best to light the fire for learning in all of my students. When it comes to the nuts and bolts of math, that's the easy part, but I take it father and have fun with math through story telling, connection with language and with
hands on applications (which can still be done online!).

Try me as a tutor and you will not be disappointed... : )

I am so impressed with Madi as a piano instructor for a simple reason-- she has both a real love and natural talent for music AND she knows her technical stuff-- music theory and how to teach different ages. Too many teachers are either/or that way so I really connected with how she balances both the artistic and music loving aspects with solid technique on the piano. I definitely would recommend her as a piano instructor.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from St. Norbert College, and I am currently studying for a PhD in statistics at University of California, Irvine. My goal is to encourage students to enjoy STEM subjects, especially mathematical sciences because they are such a beautiful way to understand the world. Math is so much more than algebra and geometry, and, if it is truly understood, even those subjects can be illuminating in how we understand the world.

About Kyle
Even though my resume suggests that I am a nerd, I am also an athlete and a geek, perhaps bit of a gamer and most certainly a goofball. I can juggle 9 juggling balls, 6 clubs, and 7 rings, I love Madden and Halo. I play YuGiOh! and aspire to play professional Ultimate Frisbee in a year. I have read many of the most popular Young Adult novels and nearly every textbook assigned in my college courses. Sometimes, when I first meet people, they ask what I can't do, because it seems like I have a lot of talents. Well, I'm a cannot draw, or read quickly, or act. I am slow at learning languages and understanding cultures.
I can be messy and can't cook. What I am trying to say is that I understand the struggles of not being good at something. I also have spent a lot of time honing the skills that came naturally to me to cover up my weak
nesses. I also know that sometimes extra help is truly necessary to before things can click. And sometimes things will never click, and you'll need the extra help just to keep your head above the water. I have received a ton of help in my life, and I am now in a position where I can finally start helping others, so that's what I am here to do.

I have 17+ years and 2 Masters Degrees teaching K-6th grade. I have extensive training in mathematical concept development. A student can only reach their mathematical potential once they have mastered the skills necessary to understand i's foundation. I focus on the principals of a base 10 system and I am competent in Common Core.
For many struggling children the effort it takes to complete a math assignment interferes with their desire to do math at all. If we want children to become competent mathemticians we must build a reason for learning the process. My curriculum will be tailored to your child and will attempt to to find topics that they are interested in at their level.

About Kate
I am a professional teacher. I see myself as your coach as you will be doing the work of learning and I'm just here to support you in achieving your goals. I have a love for learning and am an avid reader of children's literature. I believe in being relevant to current events and cultural sensitivity.
