About Bethany
Hello! My name is Bethany. I have been studying horn for almost 20 years and have been teaching for almost 10. I am currently located in Simi Valley, CA, a little valley located next to THE Valley, qu
ite close to most of Los Angeles. I teach online lessons and local lessons in Ventura and Los Angeles County.

About Me | Teaching Method
As a teacher, I find the most joy in seeing technical improvement translate into artistic freedom and musicality. I also just love sharing my nerdy love for the horn with young musicians!

I tailor lessons and take time to understand each student's pace of learning and playing style. I typically write out customized warm ups for each of my students that highlight aspects of horn playing that promote flexibility and teach music theory. I use etudes in not only a way that promotes technique, but also in a way that inspires creativity, giving a student freedom to experiment with musicality and composition. Students are welcome to bring me any ensemble, solo, or audition music they wish to work on.

Lesson Details | Private Horn Lessons
Local Lessons: I will drive to you! The only required equipment is 2 chairs and 1 stand. A piano/keyboard is preferred for music theory and ear training aspects of horn playing but not necessary.

Online Lessons: I use Skype mostly; I can of course use any method of video chat that you prefer.

Bethany is a wonderful instructor! She is consistently caring and insightful, and has appropriately high expectations--which push her students to improve. She was able to help me wisely choose music that would be both challenging and rewarding. I highly recommend her, and I had a great experience taking lessons from her.

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Bethany over the years and can't recommend her enough for lessons. She is professional, efficient, and a wonderful musician. She has a unique musical insight and intuition that shows in her performances. Bethany has always been incredible at explaining ideas in both a constructive and clear manner. She is a wonderful, patient, kind teacher, and has inspired many, including myself with her playing and discipline in honing her craft.

Jon provides awesome training tips as well as fitness and nutrition information to me via our phone sessions. He is very encouraging, supportive and enthusiastic about helping me reach my goals and that really helps keep me motivated and on track as well. He gives me a detailed description of the exercises I should perform on a weekly basis in order to improve my endurance, increase my strength, burn fat and gain muscle. He also explains crucial health and wellness components such as the importance of staying hydrated, timing meals for ideal metabolic results, what foods to eat for weight loss and so much more. The time Jon spent with me has been truly invaluable and helped me get in the best shape of my life. I would highly recommend Jons services to anyone and I definitely look forward to continuing to work with him

About Wendy
Hate English? Writing? Literature? Well, you're not alone. However, you are going to have to get through high school, and some of you need to do it well to get accepted into university. I work with al
l kinds of students from grades 9 all the way to college. I think tutoring is a partnership. The only point of my teaching is to see YOU succeed. There's nothing more satisfying than hearing from my students about how their grades have improved, how they've been accepted to the universities of their choice, or how they are above their class in college writing courses! No promises, but I think if you work with me, you'll learn a few things about English and writing you may not have known.

Wendy Cipriotti is a top instructor of English Literature and writing I have encountered. She is well versed in the Common Core standards. Wendy instructs challenging concepts with the scaffolding of skills that enables students to achieve success. Her directions and expectations are made crystal clear. Students are provided with a formula for analysis and writing that can be applied across curriculum. This method of analysis and writing benefits students ranging in abilities of gifted to below grade level. My son had an "ah ha" moment because of Wendy's critique and subsequent instruction on his research paper. He could not believe writing did not have to be a frustrating activity.
