Learn the basics for acting in a fun way! Each lesson will be modified to fit the student's personal level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons will include information on how to audition, how to find auditions, audition preparation, acting lingo, how to choose monologues, how to create an acting resume and head shot, and so much more. We will work on your monologues or anything you would like to bring in, in addition to everything listed. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good habit of practice.

About Jessie
Thank you for your interest in lessons! I hope to help you achieve your goals and improve your skills, whether you're looking for music lessons, help in math, or need someone to proofread your essay before you turn it in. Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to their individual needs. Each of my students prospers in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career, and the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of knowledge that will always enrich their lives.

I have been tutoring and teaching private lessons for over five years, and currently have over 40 active students. I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the Unive
rsity of Redlands in 2011, and my Associate of Arts degree in 2008 from College of the Desert. I teach online, locally, and at my studio, and cover a variety of subjects such as voice, music, theater, piano, math, english, music theory, just to name a few.

For academic tutoring (i.e. math, theory, vocabulary) I work on helping the student understand their homework and help prepare them for tests. I can also provide worksheets if necessary and am prepared to demonstrate problem areas in different ways if needed, because everyone learns differently. For voice, piano, music, and acting lessons I teach the student based on what their current level is. If you have no experience, that's okay! My lessons are uniquely designed to fit your needs no matter what level you may be.

As a music major I developed a deeper understanding of music theory, piano, voice, and theater. I received my A.A. in Music at College of the Desert and my Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Redlands- which I attended on a music scholarship. I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, because performing is a part of who I am and I could never live without it!

With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having fun doing it!

*Note: My home office has a lot of stairs and two cats. If you are disabled or have a feline allergy, please consider in-home lessons or lessons online.

About william
I have been teaching for over 20 years in a wide variety of disciplines. I began my teaching career as a scuba instructor and have taught acting and improvisation professionally in New York City for ten years. As an actor I have been the resident teaching artist at dozens of NYC schools and helped write curriculum for the DELLTA program (developing English language learning through the arts).

Professionally I have made a living from acting (both theatre and film), stand up comedy, improvisation, freelance writing, even being a United States Marine. For the past 7 years I have been teaching children and adults with autism as an ABA therapist.

I offer a very broad range of experience not only with the disciplines I have taught but with the exceptional variety of people I have had the privilege of working with.

Will has a great way of guiding the team to not only work together but dial in what's working and phase out what's not. He's patient, encouraging, and most importantly honest. It's clear he loves the form and working with others to find what works for their team.

I have been teaching acting for 4 years. I've worked with students from age 6 to 26. I have training in classical and contemporary acting techniques such as Boleslavski, Laban, and Stanislavsky. My goal is to work with the skills the student has, and discover additional skills the actor has to offer, so we can build a performance truthful and unique to them. I emphasize preparation and discipline, but just so we are free to play. Because after all, acting is controlled play.

About Christopher
Hello future collaborator. I started acting when I was 13 in middle school. Since then I studied at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, received my BA in Theatre from Saint Louis University, and my MFA in Acting: The British Tradition from the Birmingham School of Acting in the United Kingdom. I have performed consistently in schools, community, and professional theatre.

With teaching, I first look for what the actor offers the material, or what they'd like to say, and bring that forward. I emphasize concentration, study, and discipline to promote storytelling, and then bringing the character to life. My approach utilizes methods from Shakespearean acting as well as Boleslavski, Chekhov, Laban, and Stanislavsky. I also do vocal exercises from Cicely Berry, Kristin Linklater, and Patsy Rodenburg. Also lots, and LOTS of Improv!

I
am your guide in bringing your role to life. You come prepared, but I make you ready.

I worked along side Chris as a teacher at a performing arts after-school program; and he was one of the best & most sincere teachers I have yet to work with. His passion and love of the craft is contagious, and it is evident through his coaching how much he loves to teach. He is a delight to work with & to learn from and has so much knowledge & expertise to share. He has a genuine concern for those he teaches, and the kids really were always eager & willing to learn from him. Chris is definitely a great acting coach and I highly recommend him!

I have experience as a union actress, as a film director, producer and I have done over 10 casting sessions so I know an actor's strengths and weaknesses and how they should improve, prepare for a role, work on an actor's palate (voice and body), can teach audition techiniques, building a character, scene study, improvisation etc.

I teach a bit from all acting methodologies - Stanislavsky, Lee Strasberg, Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, etc. My teaching style is more eclectic. I also emphasize Shakespeare and classical theatre training or plays. I train actors to use their imaginations and instincts. Essentially, I help actors play and have fun. A play is called a play because you "play"!

I am also a black martial artist and can teach actors combat and basic fight scenes for film. I produce my own action film series so I have experience with how an actor should prepare for a fight scene.

About Sangini
I have a Master's degree (Speech Communications and Drama) from Texas State University and a Bachelor's degree from University of Texas at Austin (History, Mathematics). I am a published children's book author and I write articles for magazines. I write movie scripts too.

I am a film producer, director, actress, writer, black belt martial artist. I have directed many actors in 10 films, had over 10 casting sessions with actors auditioning, performed with many actors in film and theatre and am a union actress.
